  1. True, in naval history we won't find such a battle, that is why I pointed later down that it is irrelevant here but in a whider spec it happened with other ship types so it is logical in a sense. There are many reasons why this could have happened to him, I just tried to point out that he shouldn't be frustrated about it and blame it as an RNG problem because it might have been started as such but ended the way it did for other reasons.
  2. I only tried to help and if you don't want it don't read what I wrote. I just used my brain to understand and by your reaction I assume, again, I was right as well. If you don't see why I assumed what I did you can just say so but I quoted you for a reason and tried to explain. If some one is arrogant it is you for underestimate my reaction just because it doesn't fit into your way of thinking and decided to describe me as a "turd". I was reading a lot about naval battles and it did happend, not word for word ofc, but it did. The game isn't even close to be 100%realistic and the gameplay that anyone would choose as a player would probbly wouldn't be aswell, so to compare it for real naval battles is pointless, the fact is that the outcome of anything is the sum of some numbers and it depends on the player to try and make them work better for him. You did a poor job at that(400 hours can give the wisdome to know that) Bye and GL.
  3. I have a good reason to assume what you did by the way you wrote it down, and if you don't want others to do that be more informative don't blame game mechanics for your lacking and be more nice. At any point I didn't shut you down and you could always brighten things up. I have more then 400h in this game, I like it and I think you over reacting, the RNG isn't broken, it is the poor execution of the player who makes it so or the assumption of humans that think there is no grey in a world of black and white. Sorry to tell you but you are wrong. Look up, in history and gaming pages there are numerous situations where that happened and still happens, welcome to real life. If it would have happened the other way around would you have been reacting the same or had a proud smile on your face?
  4. Maybe a little, 90% from information and 10% from balance, limitations and difficulty flavor. You are right, when I'll have more time I would go over and correct what I can, I also copied it from a word file and it seems that some of it went in wrong, thanks. Thanks again for the feedback, would be happy to hear more later on, enjoy☺️
  5. Hello everyone. I know there is an open community scenarios topic but I had a lot of time into this and would be happy to have your feedback directly. Since I don't have much of imagination and found myself wanting to play this game more I decided to searce in Wikipedia for naval battles list and came up with 50 scenarios based on some of them, the ones that looked for me as worth the time or at least doable in this game limit. I couldn't make them realistic or accurate(game limits) but I did digged in all of them and the information that is relevant as input for this game is by the actual inforamtion of these battles.(rounded up) I would like to note that the work isn't finished or accurate to the point, also I decided to try and make a difficulty scale that would come up in the next day or two, it just take some time to test all of them again to determin that. If anyone would like to help or found interesting information he thinks that need to be implemanted into them I would be happy for you to take part. All of the scenarios were tested by me, for both sides of each battle, and I had a lot of fun with them, hope you would too. 6. you mean what should you do or what I assumed you did? I think you just closed in on him and circulated around. a good tactic would be using everything you can to your advantage but its hard for me to go over everything, briefly that would be to "dance" so every littel while another ship is closer to him while making sure you engaging in an angle and to your guns distance advantage.
  7. prove your might - maybe i was just lucky but with 34 knots only 5*3 16" or 4*2 17" guns and 16" belt armor I got it done 2 times diff tech first go. just went for 4 more, just to make sure, 1 lost cause got flashed fired, 1 lost for ammo detonation, 2 wins.
  8. real time damage lower acc and smaller guns means more shots per sec in close combat where armor almost doesnt metter, enough that the ai got a few shots in a row on his ships would drop his acc up to 50%, all number considered with high rate of fire and the assumption that the reason the enemy was on low health because of an early engagment which gave him time to recover his acc i can see how it is very possible. he should have used the speed and high health and just gun it from afar. again, all assumptions but that what I came to see from the way he described the situation. also 2v1 he shouldn't have been going with his broad side. while he probbly was circulating around him showing him an easy target and mybe even engaging him when the ai facing him and losing much of his own ships acc to speed.
  9. every time I checked my fully functional ships after a battle the total % of the total shots are about the same to all of them meaning RNG might fk u up sometimes but in the end it isn't broken, so a dd can ammo detonate a bb but that would happen once in 20 close combat scenarios. In total after having hundrads of battles the RNG hardly takes part in 1% of them and it sucks when it happens but any other try to implement a system that could give you a better resault would come at the cost of other more important things the game offer so it doesnt worth it. edit: went over your description of events again, it seems more of a poor execution by your side. I didn't saw it myself so I might be wrong but it sounds like you used poor tactic when engaging and you mistaken the outcome of it of the RNG. There is no such a thing as a real RNG, in most games the devs add some hidden calculation so it wouldn't be as randome as ppl mistakenly thinking it to be.
  10. 1. agree 2. didnt notice something of the like. note that it shows if the enemy detected the torps or not. mostly the reason for the ai to change direction is if you change your ships direction, try to watch again if maybe that is the case. 3. I did all naval on all tech options and mostly got them on first try now that I understand the game better. first time felt like you mentioned but after that all seems easy. the real rng god in this game is flash fire/ammo detonations that sometimes makes your 100k ton bb explode for a dd gun fire. +in total I think the game is well made but balanced is not something I think I can say about it. there is a min-max builds that are way better then others, atm high belt armor+speed and many fast fire guns, close in and shotgun them to death, my main issue with the game is the ai and that it doesnt seem to adapt to the way the battle goes and stick to its very basic behavior.
  11. At the loading screen it still gets stuck on DD design once in a while (about 1/15) before it gets to the loading model part.
  12. Felt the same, this game is much less enjoyable when it get to such a big fleet scale, then I decided to go normal speed instead of x5 and it was easy to manage and win, still felt less fun then most of the missions/battles I had in this game and the AI isn't helping both on my side and the enemy.
  13. "building hornet-class destroyer" my loading screen for the new naval mission got stuck there. also took a long time to generate the other ships. +it does seem that the ai makes much better ships, thumbs up for that+
  14. get 28+knots speed and mount the biggest and as many guns u can on the front, choose HE shells when in battle. did it with all 3 tech options, just get on his tail and he would be gunned down in about 15-20min game time. You would need to evade his torps 2-3 times but that is all there is to it. not one of the fun ones but very doable. another option if you like is to turn off your torps and then when u r right next to him(300m+-) turn them on. GL.
  15. Everything had a first and somehow someone knew how to and did it, and if we werw keeping on just going the rout someone else laid before us we would have not been able to lay down these words in this conversation. In your brain there are thusands if not millions of years of iformation that can lead you to decide what is good and what is not. We are coded and in that code there is potential to perfection that you discard if you decide to go after something else that might have flaws you aren't aware of. I didn't said at any point don't use what you know to give a feedback, I noted that it should be done from a more "clean" point of view. That instead of saying "my ex had bigger" you would say "you can have bigger" and that would result in a better outcome.
  16. Honestly I didn't saw any toxic by your side and I like the way you decided to describe your inner feelings/thoughts but you did missed something: comparing stuff can be easly done with anything to anything, for example I can compare my liking of cocacola to my liking of redbull, you can say that they both on a level should be compared and are close in somewhatway to each other but the truth is that I shouldn't compare these two because they are just two different products. So yes, again, you can compare UA:D to any other game of your liking but since you seem to miss the whole picture that have thousands of other variables that isn't a good way to improve the final outcome. Can't you look at a picture and say "I like a,b,c but that x,y,z should be diffrent in my taste" without comparing it to another picture? The reason I think comparing is wrong is just like being in a relasionship- If you would compare you will always try to get what you want but would never get what you need. That was the reason I asked ppl to stop and compare, to games and to realife, I think that when you start to draw from blank and not from a scatch you have a better chance to get a more beutiful painting. You may correct me if you like but as you mentioned it is an opinion, you are welcome to adopt it or dissmiss it, we have our free will after all. p.s. take it easy, we both have the same will to see this game getting better, the ways we walk are different but with the same goal we are not at war.
  17. I think a spread would be very welcome and reduction on spotting when on high speeds aswell. But when it comes to luch you can always turn them off and then on when you want to fire. Sometimes you suddnly realise you are 1% wrong in angle and they dont fire and then I would welcome a better torp visual fire angle indicator(for the guns can be nice as well) The problem I see with torps atm is that the damage mechanic is strange. on one hand they have a very good chance to kill engines while at the same time with lots of antitorp tech the struct damage can be almost with no effect. a bit like the flash fire and ammo detonations randomness that leads my bb to sink from a 4'' partial pen hit while having 1% to get flash fire, still the gods of rng decided I deserve to lose. So yea torps should be devestating but if so then the amount of torp lunchers that 1 ship can have should be limited just as amount of main guns, and antitorp tech should decrease chances to get engine/roter damage more then a reduction to the struct damage itself as it is now that allowing some ships to eat 10-20 torps.
  18. Simple, they don't, the camplain is about not seeing the % come to life as predicted, when a ship makes a shot it is just a prediction, the hit is calculated only when and if the shells get to the target, just like torps. In a way the % is just a computer on the ship that tries to tell you what the chances are to hit but it cannot predict 100% for the object that it tries to calculate is a moving self controlled object, so you can say the odds are "off" but they are just an indicator to begin with. Using evasive moves is very beneficial, the system even shows you how much it change the chances to hit before the shells leave your gun, it still takes effect and change the actual % after they left.
  19. I did, the thing is that unless you get lucky I don't see how to beat it with more then 90% atleast from my 3 tries. I got 2 hits on me and that got me to 85%. Anyway thanks for the answer and scenario☺️
  20. Battle of Tao-Feng - "Changing history as we know it" During the early morning of July 25 1894, Rear-Admiral Tubosi's squadron arrived at the rendezvous point near Tao-Feng island. Approaching it the Japanese vessels spotted two warships heading south-west; they turned out to be the Chinese cruiser Yuan and the torpedo gunboat Kang-iy. Tubosi correctly assumed them to be the escorts of a Chinese troop transport and decided to go in a straight course for the Chinese warships. As the commander of Yuan, you had spotted the Japanese warships at approximately the same time and was alarmed by their appearance. Tech: 1894 Distance: 8000m Chinese Empire (You) 1HC 2TB 1Transport Empire of Japan (Enemy) 3HC Lose: If you lost more then one of your ships. Win: Sink at least two of the Japanese HC, if you decide it is enough get all your ships out of the enemy sight or finish the last one as well. *Inspired by the real Battle of Pungdo.
  21. looks a bit far fetched to understand the exact rpm these things had but I guess that the factors wold be craw, number of barrels and what mark the gun is. Don't know where and how to get the info for this to compare it for the ingame mechanic but if you estimate then maybe it is a bit off from reality but there is balance stuff that we need in a game and atm for me it feels more or less fine as it is.
  22. So finished all, all sides, plz make some more If anyone would be interested in builds I kept screen shots as souvenirs. As example I present you - Dunkerque(SWfAI part 2b, there was no better suited 35500 hull or 4 barrel 13'' so I went with 14'' and this...)
  23. mybe the barrels and the shells aren't simulated together, which for visual effect needed, but the shells are working as physical calculation by themselfs, probbly in a liniar back calculation made behind the actual visual effect. I do agree and would be happy if somehow the rng would be put down a notch but doubt that would happen. still think it is a good idea.
