  1. in PB's only: Player controlled forts with different fort health layout and designs , different parts on the fort breaking making that part unusable instead of the fort having a big healthpool = hitting the middle of the fort shouldn't dismantle it totally, it should rather disable cannons and crew
  2. its though enough as a AI that you cant repair, usually have a lower quality ship unless its Elite AI. But in the combat missions you cant have people taking over ai ship as loki runes btw
  3. some kind of cargo inspection mechanic has been suggested so many times and is long overdue
  4. looks grea! When docked up, will we see people walking around? and to see for example, the shop, the admirality building etc also any idea about different fort designs?
  5. Epic events were really popular when they first arrived, they were one of the few instances that delivered high end loot for pve where it was a max limit of what rate of ship you could bring and how many. They are 10 elite ships where you can maximum bring 6 players, so for inexperienced players its a good challenge. They are never sought after nowadays since all the items available in those evens are MUCH easier available through various chests you can get from easy pve and the picked group events.. Which is really unfortunate. They had a really cool gist to it, it was always a priority to try an do one before other clans got the hold of it because if someone had entered it, it disappeared. Its also cool that it patrols around the whole map, so they change location all the time. Me personally have mentioned it many times to @admin that they should utilize that content alot more, imo rare and high end (2nd, 1st rate) permits, modules, upgrades should have an significantly higher droprate from those events rather then the other really accessible chests or even through the admirality. It would also bring another great reason to sail around and exploring the caribbean.
  6. answered not sure, because i agree something has to be done so you cant get kited in a pb vs screening fleet, but abandoning it totally imo is the wrong decision
  7. So the decision to axe the Screening part has been made, and its obviously the community to blame. But what about an other suggestion to fix the problem which from the devs pov is the holding port battle fleets in battle without fighting, tagging and running away aka kiting. The idea is to bring PZ RoE to the county which has a port battle set that day. In the battle instance the circle of death appears, should it be for both parts, or only for the attacker forcing the attacker to engage before the circle is to small. The idea is that all Port Battle ships are usually really slow ships, so a ship usually built for screening should be more then capable enough to keep up with a port battle ship. Leave your thoughts!
  8. i agree like that would be overkill, in other games you have the common items like you mention salt you wouldn't need that extra confirmation to do, but a good idea i think would work is to have an option in the game settings if you want to have the confirm button for say resources, trade goods, consumables etc. Think that would be a QOL change, and that you cant delete by right clicking, but you would have to drag it out from the inventory and drop it, which would make it alot harder to do unrecognized by yourself.
  9. F. But honestly thought it should come up a box where you have to type "destroy" before its gone
  10. if they changed it its good in the long run, maybe the elite events will be worth doing soon, imo its not good when you can rinse and repeat the same excat farm for a short time to get the best items ingame, it will become a mid max meta like you have in wow classic, where if you know how to do it you can farm so much resources with minimal effort
  11. maybe they didnt say which february? so technically they are still on time?
  12. is there a historical situation where someone has looted from a sinking ship? it would sound strange, but i understand it for gameplay. But it would give an even bigger reason to board a ship rather to sink it.
  13. what about the eu players that prefer to do rvr at night? not all work 0900 - 1700, many work shifts and prefer to play during night time if they have the option
  14. the regional servers wont work, people will still play whenever they can, with whoever they want to and on the most populated server.
  15. the problem i see it is a population issue, maybe you should be able to pay an tax to lock down all sub ports and force the attacker to go through your main port first?
  16. Being a norwegian player i dont see the problem, shouldn't you put the timer around the time you KNOW you have enough players to defend your ports? and even if that doesn't help, doesnt it indirectly mean you own to many ports and need to adjust to the situation?
  17. maybe they scammed us and are talking about Net Neutrality?
  18. i feel there needs to be some kind of reward to survive / kill enemies in a battle with loki rune to keep players from just sailing away without leaving, or just surrendering the ship once they enter. Also how unbalanced the join can be, already half full of water with no structure or joining a even fight with full hp from the start, there shouldn't be anything con about dying. And of course it should be a cosmetic reward that does not affect a player/ship in some kind of performance. Maybe you can get some token if you leave a battle, even get 2 extra token for each kill, 1 for each assist etc. Reward could be a unique flag or paint skin, even develop it so you get the token for the faction you help in battle. So if you are british, get loki say 25 pirate tokens, you get a british flag themed towards pirates, maybe a privateer flag or some sort (example RN Ensign of the Henry Morgan era). @admin and others, thoughts on the idea? it would give a reason to fight or leave the battle not wasting peoples time, yes you can still waste peoples time, but then add so if you are still inside the battle and haven't left 2-3 minutes after you could leave you lose the chance of that token. This removes the reason to keep people intentionally in battle to grief with the risk of not getting a reward for doing it. It also gives a great reason to actually fight the player for extra token and help the other npc, and even if you don't want to you get a reward if you can manage to leave the battle.
  19. IMO i would love to try this ingame if it was for one weekend to test it, @admin would this be possible if u open testbed? and apply a survey afterwards of the experience players had
  20. These are two different situations. If you escort a ship, your job is to protect the trader ship and fight other warships, at least you have to try. But if you are in a fast ship just to screen out others over and over again preferably the same player, preventing them to do ingame objects thats tribunal worthy. If you sail as the trade ship and defensive tag because you know your chances are slim and you want your best possible chance to survive its logically fine to do the tag and sail away, because you're not preventing the other guy to do his thing, you just make it more challenging for him, but locking him out in another battle like the other scenario directly preventes him from doing what he intends to. And all of this i feel comes from common sense, if you look from both sides perspective. And last thing, PZ isnt the same pvp as you find in OW, if you go with anything other then carronades in PZ you're most likely gonna die anyway, since you're forced close quarter, and have nowhere to run.
  21. its an unwritten rule that you can defensive tag if you feel you cant beat the enemy in numbers or simply dont want to fight and know you can run away inside the battle giving you maximum advantage, and i dont see anything wrong with it. For instance, why should the player that is running away let the other ship up right next to him without doing any manouvers? The defensive tag is legit and the only thing its missing is that you spawn in OW where you leave the battle. You can say that people would use this to defensive tag a ship and sail into a port, let them do that if it takes them 30 - 60 minutes to accomplish that, its not efficient at all, and the realism in this is that the ships that cant reach the battle before the closing timer of 2 minutes, would simply be to far away to do anything anyway.
  22. imo if you compare it to wows the secondairy armament in naval action would be swivel guns, while anti air would be the marines with muskets i think
  23. well if they want to have the realism part in the game they have to fix it anyway, have you seen the similarities between the snow and a drift car? its not that different
  24. the problem i see it is that since you as a single player control everything on the ship these things are possible to pull off regarding stern camping etc. Imagine if you would try to stern camp in Sea of Thieves or Blackwake, where it requires several brains up to 20 to operate with the exact same idea at the exact same time, this problem isnt in Naval Action, but you can kind of compare it with a 1v1 battle vs 25v25 fleet battle where you usually see the ones best trained and experienced players win because they think the same while the unorganized people bump into each other all the time. Maybe some kind of input lag would fix this? like 10-20 seconds input lag so you would have to plan further ahead and you cant instantly react if for instead e a player has decided 10 seconds before you that he is gonna depower and do a full break?
