  1. Yes. But Heavy shells are usually strong enough.
  2. Yeah. I never do any missions involving anything above of 10" without heavy shells. It's just a little sad that I might have thrown away my multiplayer advantage rn. (if there ever is multiplayer)
  3. It should keep the camera centered on the ships afterwards. It does so for me and most youtube videos I watched. Maybe a bug ?
  4. ...That's already in the game. just click on one of your ships.
  5. Especially since effective thickness could vary alot depending on quality control on both ends of the combat, whereas actual thickness doesn't tend to do that.
  6. That's what it says on Wikipedia. It's however incorrect. The realy rpm was more alog the lines of 2.2-2.5, with 3 during the first minute and under emergency reload. I.e., when the officers basically wipped the crew or something lol.
  7. It says so when you hover over the speed bar.
  8. No. Because you don't get the sufficient spotting quipment in the scenario.
  9. The source is the report from the 22nd of August 1911 Gunnery Exercises performed by Radetzky. They're accessible in the Austrian state Archive's Kriegsarchiv section. I don't know if that has been cited in any english language book so far.
  10. The Radetzky class battleships achieved up to 3 rounds per minute with their 305mm guns as early as 1908.
  11. That decreases your accuracy due to non-uniform calibres
  12. I mean, you can also equip your ships with 406's and the advanced fire control and shoot them from 10km with about 25% accuracy. But engagement ranges of over 15km aren't really feasable at the moment outside of radar ships.
  13. Well, It's not YOUR fault those ships entered the 10 miles security zone around your fleet you totally informed them about beforehand 😉
  14. You don't need to declear war to go to war, if you know what I mean 😉 (Banzai noises in the distance)
  15. Indochina has very large rubber Supplies. And rubber is kinda important for many modern tech applications such as wheels. And destroyers alone won't do the trick. Currently, a fleets of destroyers even struggles to sink a single battleship, let alone a battlefleet with a Cruiser and destroyer screen. And since historicly Japan, Britain and even Germany had strong fleets in east asia, with China not being particularily strong in the region but having favorable supply lines, it kinda becomes important to have a strong presence there.
  16. You could just go to war with the Ottomans or any South American nation to test your designs. Aside of that, a custom battle Editor will become part of the game during the next couple of weeks.
  17. How do you plan to defend French Indochina and the west African coast with TP boats and destroyers ? I think you'd need a few more full fledged fleets to have any succes here than just an Atlantic and a Mediteranean fleet.
  18. The Campaign is already in the game files in a somewhat primitive but already playable state and was accessible until a few days ago by pressing left Alt while clikcing on the campaign button. As such, it is reasonable to assume that the campaign is less than two months away and will be playable in some form during Alpha.
  19. With the spotting mechanic currently in game and the ability to organize ships in main line and screening fleets, all of which follow a central fleet, all that is needed is to literally just lock the camera to the players ships instead of having it able to move freely. Just try it out, it's actually a lot of fun to play with your camera being locked to your own ships.
  20. I'm quite sure that whomever captains the battleships in 'The power of Dreadnoughts' seriously reconsidered their life choices when the entirety of the US Battlefleet showed up two times over. Damn.
  21. The crew wouldn't be on the deck of the ships during combat for obvious reasons, except for those poor souls who have to man deck guns
