  1. Was that before or after the cathedral fell?
  2. This knee is not for bending, I bend for no man, good sir! Happy new year btw
  3. I think u could go to 1999£ since, well why the hell not? But honestly - do you really think a Diana DLC will matter much once the Redoubtable gets into the game? How many offensive PBs will the swedes be able to field once we show up in insta bake ships?
  4. I'd even buy her if she became a DLC, a decent 5th rate DLC is missing imo..
  5. Pls reintroduce the Diana to the game.
  6. after sails being lowered to 0% you automatically surrender the battle.. We all know there is a clear winner and IF the player who did the demast would accept the loser keeps his ship he can drag it to a port and give it back.. The other rule is for the weak.
  7. The reason ppl use 1st rates is because ppl has to use 1st rates. Rather than limit the rates, think about the roles they should accomplish ingame. What exactly should 1st rates be used for? 2nd rates? 3rd rates? etc. I'd suggest differentiated speed caps for different ships so as to avoid the 14kn Wasas (and yes I do have a couple of three but I can still find them unrealistic).. The problem with first rates is that they are a requisite for port battles so there the solution is simple and straight forward.. go back to the old system of differentiated BR, introduce maintenance on all ships above 4th rate so as to limit the desire to stockpile large ships.. When I was doing RvR I had 3 L'Oceans on each of my account and a plethora of 2nd rates, 3rd rates etc.. Basically through necessity and a desire to be able to keep the steam up if needed. Now.. I can't be bothered with RvR and even if I could DK/NG can't gather 25 players unless it's a defensive PB.. We have PvP every day at our doorstep, why should we care about the rest of the server?
  8. @qw569 Is it possible to get another demografic for the war-server?
  9. Three problems that causes players to leave: - A perceived lack of ability to fight mods/port bonus'.. Either remove them entirely (preferable) or make them readily available. - Lack of designated roles for the shipclasses.. We know that a SoL couldn't open it's lower gundecks in rough seas or at full speed, so why not make differentiated hard caps for the different tiers, fx. SoL 8kn-9kn, 4th rates: 11kn, 5th rates: 12kn and everything goes for 6th rates, but limit the turnrate especially for the frankensnow that shouldn't even be sailable since it should sink everytime there's a storm on the server. - The grind req for RvR.. The game REALLY, REALLY need a good war. Can any1 disagree with this? - But we won't have it as long as RvR is locked behind large BR ports, a huge grind, uncompetitive port bonus' and mods. Related but not gamebreaking issues: - A shallow economy - A shallow gameplay experience. The problem however is: Even if these issues were solved.. Do we really believe that players that experienced the state of NA post release will come back just to try out how it is now? As I see it, poor decisions and the "yes"-men killed the game. What we have now is not a MMO, because there's not a "massive" online playerbase.
  10. Why players leave the game? Well looking at Steam reviews: - The full wipe, still players log on and see that devs lied and logs of never to log in again. - The grind - The lack of content, which is ironic because this is one instance where I actually agree with the devs.. It IS a sandbox, hence the content should come from the players. Epic battles, hard won wars. Unfortunately the grinding req for the first makes the latter impossible and thus players leave. - Economy, just as ppl need a war ppl need risks. Atm u can make millions upon millions without any risks enabling the no-lifers and their alts to drive prices up for upgrades etc. perceived, with some reason, to be required in order to be competitive.. Upgrades that is not readily available and due to the unbalanced nature of mods will hardly ever be available for the casual player. - "RvR matters", the more RvR matters, the less players we have. - Crafting, locking players out of crafting simply for not having the right friends. - The grind - Long sails with little to nothing to do. - Missions are unfleshed, there's room for exploration, escorts, scouting, spying etc. Why haven't we had a player mission board where players can put up an order: "Need an escort from point A at this hour, expected duration x amount of hours" or something similar.
