  1. Jumped a 3rd rate with a friend, I was in a turn build Snow. We had the ship down to 200 crew, and 75% sails the first part of the battle. It could still fire and turn as if it never lost the crew or took sail damage. AI should suffer crew problems just like players, otherwise there is no reason to kill the crew or hit sails. My snow also has a high pen bonus from books and upgrades while using Obusier guns. Later in the battle it got Lokied, and the 3rd rate still could fire and sail like it had not taken any sail or crew damage. If players sailing their own ships lose 75% crew and almost 15% or 25% sails our ships would not function. The AI should have the same issue as a player. Also the player that took over the ship also did a sail repair after we got his sail down to about 75%, which he repaired back up to 87%. I'm assuming the ship's "loot" would have been sail repairs.
  2. I can understand all of your points, and I do thank you for your input. But I am also looking for ideas that would be included in this type of change. So if you can give ideas for any effect that would be good. Then everyone can get a better understanding before putting in a vote. This way we can fully analyze the effects.   3. Hello everyone, I wanted to ask what peoples' opinions are for a change to how cargo effects ships. Depending on the type of cargo and how much of it you have, it should effect ships in different ways. Example 1: If you are carrying a large amount of saltpeter, then your ships should explode more violently. Saltpeter is used in the production of gunpowder, it's chemical name is Potassium Nitrate. This compound is very volatile. Example 2: If you are carrying fir logs or other types of woods you should have a higher chance to catch fire, or higher chance for the fire to spread to another part since there is more wood to burn. This would be caused by a larger amount of burning wood would create more heat, which would allow the fire to spread farther faster. Example 3: Carrying a large amount of cargo should weigh your ship down and decrease the heel of the ship. So cargo ships would tilt less when in storms or going over weaves. Example 4: Rum or other alcohols should burn much faster, and be harder to put out since the alcohol would float on water. Although since the alcohol burns faster it would not last as long as a equal amount of wood burning. Alcohol would mostly catch cloth on fire since it takes more heat to set the wood ablaze.   4. Hello everyone, We are all familiar with trims and planking bonuses. I was thinking that maybe we should have similar choices for increasing the cargo hold of a ship. These additions would be similar to getting the trims cramped or very cramped, or the planking option of "crew" which gives 10% more crew capacity. The first possible addition would be to add extra cargo capacity to the ship through the planking option, this could be balanced out by a decrease in crew allotment, ship HP, or armor thickness. Which would allow for multiple versions of this planking choice. Example 1: 10% Increase in cargo hold; -5% Armor HP Example 2: 10% Increase in cargo hold; -2.5% Armor Thickness Example 3: 10% Increase in cargo hold; -5% Amount of Crew Example 4: 15% - 25% Increase in cargo hold; -5% Amount of Crew and -2.5% Armor Thickness The combinations can go on for awhile, so I will just leave it there. Combinations of these could greatly increase the cargo capacity of the ship, but also weaken it's combat capacity greatly if stacked together. These values can also be used for trims as well, since some of the trims do have negative values. If you think these values would need adjustment to balance them out, please leave the values you think would fit in your reply. Or if it should just be trims, and or planking choice that these can be be applied to. Thank you for your time and hope you all have a great day.
