  3. I did not say that the game is dying due to player numbers. However, there are not enough players playing the game to where it can operate as designed. Ideally all nations would have a very healthy number of players for all time zones. Of course you will have your stronger nations, but currently we have a whole slew of nations ranging from very strong to barely any players. There were only 250 people online around US EST Primetime, by the way. I did not say the game is dying, I guess reading is hard.
  4. Game mechanics should be the driving force to stop 2 nations owning everything, not having to feel bad for a nation and not attacking them. Many ideas have been suggested to make this happen in the past but instead we just get AI port battles and more DLC. I run an event in another game which is in a similar fragile state as this game in terms of numbers. The event needs numbers to be successful. People no longer participate in the event because there aren't enough people and it is no longer 'fun', so they leave, and the cycle repeats.
  5. Yep. In a PvP game these things happen. The Dutch had the Pirates on their knees and nobody cared, now that Maracaibo is under fire (even though it is next to possible to take it without massive screening fleets) it is all "oh the humanity!". Even though Coro is the main crafting port these days from what it seems. If you have territory and can't defend it, maybe you shouldn't have that territory.

  7. I don't know. I just don't remember Prussia owning that area for a long time after the release. As for collapse...I think they are stronger now at this point with LAMA going there than they ever were at or around release.
  8. NO was so early on can that even be considered a crafting port at that time? Baracoa was some weird thing with BF and WTF. San Juan was attacked only after HAVOC 'stole' it when they switched to Sweden, before that it was explicitly not attacked due to it being a crafting port. Maracaibo as stated is no longer a major crafting port. Remedios as stated is not going to be attacked, but I guess reading is hard for some.

  13. I have always said it should be free of charge to switch to a 'lesser' nation. That is how it was in Uncharted Waters and worked well. DLC would still be used to go 'up', but it is free to go 'down'.
  14. I think you forget the other half of the story which includes BL4CK paying Spain to take it, then using alts to intentionally die in hostility missions. Then BL4CK owns it but loses Santiago de Cuba, has a intra-clan fallout and splits up, quits the game, and opens up all BL4CK owned ports for all to use. Also, that is incorrect. Nuevitas was always able to be pulled along with George's Town and Morgan's Bluff. For proof:
  15. When we went to Russia we did not bring over the main Pirate crafting port, no. When did the clan that you used to be in do this? I don't remember bringing any ports over in our switch to Russia.
  16. Kind of lame to take the port with you and screw over the rest of your nation, or what's left of it. At least some ports are now 50 points.
  17. The wind boost should be for traders only. Why in the world would you allow 1st-3rd rate ships to get uber speed boosts like that?

  20. I think it is quite clear that the Dutch can give Russia a decent run for their money, and generally it looks like they can field larger/more numerous screen fleets. The difference is Russia is attacking stuff for content and the Dutch are not. It would be the same narrative if the Dutch were steamrolling the map.
  21. And some of them can be pretty decent. I got a Fir Fir 3 slot Ocean and a Fir Oak 4 slot Ocean...no port bonuses of course, but really that's not a half bad ship and you can toss some cheapy mods onto it.
