  1. @HachiRoku @Palatinose @Banished Privateer Thanks for the help. What build would you suggest for solo play? T/T or T/WO?
  2. I am planning on building a load of either one to hopefully get some good bonus trim on a few but can't decide between the two. I would appreciate some of the more skilled / experienced PvP players among you to share your knowledge and explain the pros and cons of each compared to the other and let me know which one you prefer and why. Also if there is another frigate I should consider, let me know please. Thank you, captains.
  3. Thank you for taking the time to get this filth out of the game, my friend.
  4. Not really a priority right now with so many things the game is still lacking but definitely at some point when the more pressing issues are sorted.
  5. What do you mean by normal? Should be 3/5 no trim < Legacy double planking < 4/5 or 5/5 with good trim. How much could I sell it for to make a good deal?
  6. I am still in possession of a Teak/White Oak/White Oak Indefatigable, that was a redeemable after the wipe. Since I am not using the ship, I was wondering what the value of it is, now that we have 4/5, 5/5 slots and special trims. The ship in question receives all bonuses / stats from the white oak trim twice but is only 3/5 and has no special bonus trim. Thank you, gentlemen!
  7. This is right up there with the best changes you've ever made to the game. I will start playing again once this patch goes live. Thank you very much.
  8. It wouldn't lead to pay to win but instead be pay to win. People could pay for a direct advantage over other players that is only available via spending real money. But then again we have it happening with alt accounts already, so I don't see much more harm that could be done there...
  9. I agree completely, good Sir. And although I like and support suggestions that encourage and promote PvP, I think giving only the top players rewards isn't the way to go, since what we need is more casuals doing PvP. The same people that are on the leaderboard every other day do not need to be boosted even further, since they make ridiculous amounts of gold and marks already ( I have nothing but respect for those highly skilled players as long as they try to pick on enemies of their calibre! ). Expending the PvP rewards in admiralty store is definitely the better way to go and caters to the average player.
  10. Source? What mechanics would that be?
  11. This right there is why I keep quitting, every time I come back to the game. It seems like the majority of players are not interested in good fights but rather PvE or fights that they have a very high chance of winning. Some players did this constant chaining and kiting to me aswell, only to waste my time and some insulted me for attacking their traders as if I was doing something wrong. Subhuman is what I would call this behaviour.
  12. I already addressed this, when SirTexas brought it up before you and it really does not matter what it is called. The server is PvP first and PvE second, because we have a PvE server already. If we had a PvP, PvE and PvP/PvE server then and only then would PvE players on the PvE/PvP server have the right to complain about being exposed to PvP in the zones. Otherwise the answer is the same. People complaining about PvP are better served on the PvE server. If the majority of players sit in the 5% of map, then yes it is the only way to get PvP other than patrol zones and RvR. The OW is dead and zones are one of the reasons for it. I think the same as some others that commented here... most of people that are "at the time not looking for PvP" are never looking for PvP. Once you reached advanced skill in PvP, you'll find it hard to be entertained by the predictable AI. I am not believing that PvP players find it worth logging into the game only to do some mission vs the bots. I am agreeing with Palatinose completely - that is simply BS. I am glad the devs are able to use common sense and realize that seperating players in their safe kindergarten bubble without any incentive or downsides to it that would encourage them to leave is just bad. Hopefully this update will change the game for the better and make carebears think about their server choice.
  13. I feel the same way and can't fathom how anyone would enjoy it beyond a couple of them. I assumed people would only do them for the loot, despite it probably being very tedious after a while...
  14. I stand corrected regarding the name but it obviously is the PvP server. I remember it used to be named "PvP". I never said the server should be PvP only and you are putting words into my mouth. I said PvP should be priority and players who are not interested in PvP can avoid it on the PvE server. Completely safe PvE is what the PvE server is for. PvE and PvP is undoubtedly what you sign up for, if you choose to play on the "Caribbean" server and hence the complaining about PvP and mechanics that promote it is nothing but ridiculous, in my humble opinion.
  15. So... I don't see where you are disagreeing. You have some interest in PvP and hence chose the PvP server.
  16. And again I wonder why they choose the PvP server, when they clearly aren't interested in PvP. You get all content except PvP on the PvE server and if someone is not interested in PvP, they should chose the PvE server. It is very basic logic. It seems to me like people here are not only not aware of the existence of the PvE server but also choose to ignore my repeated mentioning of it. Well I do not. I fully understand the need and reason for PvE content on the PvP server. What I am really saying is, that PvP should always take priority on the PvP server as PvE does on the PvE server. If someone does not want PvP, the PvE server is available to them. It is really that simple.
  17. Yeah, assuming the server is named "PvP" as abbreviation for "Player versus Player", I would think that I'd have every right to complain if this was the case. PvE players on the other hand do not have any right to complain about being exposed to PvP, if they choose to play on the PvP despite the availability of a PvE server. I still fail to see why the PvP server should accomodate PvE players to the point of diminishing content and freedom of the playstyle that the server is clearly dedicated to. If someone plays on the PvP server, logs in and only has time for PvE then it is his/her responsibility to consider the possibility of being attacked by other players despite not having the time to deal with the situation. They can still give up the ship ( it is not the end of the world to lose a pixel ship ) and leave, nothing forces them to stay and fight to the end.
  18. I have a very similar experience with this type of player and I deem this behaviour utmost shameful and vile. I'm glad a respected PvP player like you can confirm this and umask their untruthful talk as the farce that it really is.
  19. True but that is not my issue. The question is why do those players not interested in PvP you mentioned not only play on the PvP server but also moan like a ravished wench when there are changes made to promote PvP on the PvP server.
  20. I would like that but I am probably in the minority regarding this. You can only learn / improve your skill by fighting. You will obviously lose more fights / ships when starting and facing more experienced players but in return learn from your defeats. You can not become a better player without losing ships and many that is. If someone can not accept this and put in the time to get better, then the PvP server is not for them in my opinion. The more experienced players a lesser skilled player might face put in time and effort to improve and reach this skill level and if someone can not recognize and respect this, that is their problem and not the fault of the game.
  21. I'll regocnize your completely subjective assumption about the motives of people trying to bring this issue to the developers' attention. Your logic is flawed regarding the fact that "PREY, inexperienced players and newbs" can only stop being "easy targets" by either choosing to play only PvE ( and on the dedicated server ) or actively participate in PvP to improve. What you don't seem to understand is, that every pro player used to be a "easy target" and inexperienced themselves. They changed that. Blaming game mechanics and the evil PvP ganker players for ones own disability to improve and be able to face them on more even terms is nothing but amusing and weak excuses to me. Any new player can join a clan and sail with them to get PvP fights without getting bashed constantly. There are more bad players than elite players, so how come the bad players don't find each other more often? Because they are scared to lose and are thus hardly ever improving their skill significantly by avoiding fights / practice.
  22. I did read all his comments and don't see the problem. Even if this is the last change to reinforcement zones, you can not objectively evaluate it, because you have not even tested it. Also your comment, that I was referring to, was the second post before he even commented anything else, so it doesn't even matter what he said later.
  23. The better question to ask would be: Why should they be completely safe on the PvP server, while doing so? Who are they to demand this, despite being provided a extra server for it? Nobody forces them to switch servers for PvE but if they want to PvE on the PvP server, they should deal with the chance of being attacked by other players. Hence the term PVP server.
  24. Do you feel like I was talking about you? Because you are giving me this impression. The problem with players like you is, that they fail to realize how they can not improve by only taking fights with x2 or x3 BR advantage and hiding in the protection zone. You learn much more from even fights and the most from being outnumbered, although the latter requires advanced skill. You can hide in the zone all you want and have your PvE adventures but don't forget there is a extra server that would grant you the whole map for it. Also once you reach higher skill levels and deeper understanding of the game mechanics, you will come to realize that gear and ships do matter but not nearly as much as the skill of the captain commanding it.
