  1. I don't recall saying it was successfull, the game indeed had a lot of flaws, still have, but PvPing wasn't one of them. Most of it was the economy. All I'm trying to say is, adopting that same idea of a hostile area within the map, when players flip a port to capture it, might've worked better than simply having the whole map crawl into a battlefield, which is making players leave. It's not removing PvP, it's controlling it and confining it to a specific area. Plus, you also have the ability to activate your pvp flag to go out on the open sea and battle people that also has their flags activated. That's not making pvp harder, it's simply picking out which player wants to pvp and which player doesn't. It makes availability of both PVE and PVP in the same server to coexist, giving hope for the devs and the playerbase to merge both PVE and PVP servers together, plus it doesn't give you the feeling of going out to be slaughtered by people that don't care about content other than the battle itself. It will also increase RvR, by the simple thought that they will be able to work trades, crafts better, which provides ships for their own clans and resources, making even a small clan able to build an empire. Thus, making flipping a port a more viable call for war between nations.
  2. PVP will only start working again when Gamelabs decide to adopt POTBS type of PvP. Where you'll hostile an area, it becomes red and everybody that enters it is up for fighting, that way players that actually care about pvp will simply go to the destination and fight. Players that actually don't care for pvping, will simply avoid those red circles and live on with their lives. If you want pvp in the open world, simply put on your pvp flag and go be happy sinking ships that has their pvp flag on aswell. Right now the people complaining about pvp, most of them are the players getting ganked that are not actually pvpers, they are traders and pvers, that's where most of the complaints comes from. Some comes from the lack of BR, that's a simple fix, but devs turn eyes the other way till the game colapse again. If they implemented this type of pvp, where you would need to have the pvp flag on or simply go to these red hostile circles in the map (being hostile areas), merging PVE and PVP servers together would've been actually doable in the future. And I know a lot of people will disagree with this (oh, but I don't want to go to a place to kill people... oh, i don't wanna have to put on a flag to do pvp, its a pvp server, its suppose to be everyone for themselves). And I say again, that's probably why PvP server is suffering right now, because people don't actually CARE for other players, they want they loot, they want to be successfully and have their names, their clans on the leaderboard and hello kitty the rest, and that's why PvP will always be chaos like it is right now. It needs change, and it is calling for change, but the players must allow changes first.
  3. In addition to this thread, can I insist that the dev team brings trade and names available to every player from every nation? We don't have PVP, there's no need to keep other players as enemies, let us trade, add friend, group up, message and see each other's names in the open world, please.
  4. Can we please address this situation as it is constantly a disappointment when you reach a port only to discover your LGV can't dock because it's a shallow water port? A workaround that problem would be the addition of a system called LONG BOATS, where even if you're in a deep waters ship, you can simply park outside the harbor of a shallow water port and enter port by using your BOATS. That's what they usually did back in the days and I simply cannot wrap my head around WHY we still don't have that in the game. I made a trip now to deliver a passanger down at Bugle Cay and my LGV was not able to make port, even trying to tow to port didn't work and that is really disappointing to experience. Please, let us make port with merchant ships like the LGV or even the Indiaman. Even bigger ships could potentially port with the addition of long boats.
  5. If possible, flags should've been way bigger and longer than they are right now in-game. Flags were huge, specially in bigger ships, because all the sails usually went in front of it and you couldn't see the ships colors from the bow, as the sails would get in the way, so the flags usually were longer and bigger so even if you were from afar, you could spot the colors from a vessel and potentially identify her nationality and intentions (pennants). Other thing that I've been saying aswell is the flag texture is not exactly spot-on when you zoom-in on the stern of your ship, so I really would love to see some retexture on them, make them more battle worn aswell, a little bit more grey'd out and not so goddamn vivid colored as they are right now.
  6. 1st rates should indeed be almost impossible to get (figuratively speaking as in being harder). 1st rates wasn't a ship that was sailing around constantly, they had a good reason to put a 1st rate in the high seas, and that was for bigger and important battles, 1st rates should be the weapon every clan holds for RvRs and PBs, instead, we get 25v25 1st rates and no other class, and even if there was other classes, it would be useless against 1st rates. PBs and RvRs definetly needs to be balanced out AGAIN, if the BR limit is not working, simply put a lock on the classes by amount, like Wyy suggested. 2 1st rates would be the ultimate ENOUGH in a Port Battle, the rest goes for 3rd rates, 4th rates and lighter frigates, this will bring so much diversity to battles and it wouldn't be a too hard hit in the gut, like it is losing a 1st rate.
  7. This bot gave me reason to check twitter now.
  8. Thank you! That map looks amazing. I once tried to modify the map, but failed miserably. If you ever succeed in modifying it, please, I would love to have that map in my game! xD And thank you for sharing that method, I tried modifying the flags on the resources.assets, but didn't work either. I don't know, maybe I did something wrong with it, I'll glady try that again. @Sir "The Lorax" John When I tried to modify the map, the cities/ports were out of place, probably because the map I replaced was bigger/smaller than the original one from the game, but noneless it was a replica of the same map, just different colors and different details, must've done something wrong, I'll try something new with it. Did you make that map yourself?
  9. Any ETA on when will the HMS Leopard be available, or the content itself? Or is it simply vague as "coming weeks"..
  10. If anyone's willing to share a video using this build, let me know, I would appreciate it. 1920x1080 Ultra Settings + MSAA + Reflection, everything full boost, then a custom setting to maximize fps, goal being more than 70 consistant in battle. Ryzen 5 2600 + RX 580 8gb Ryzen 7 2700 + RX 580 8gb Ryzen 5 3600 + RX 5700 8gb Ryzen 5 3600 + RX 5700xt 8gb Ryzen 5 1700 + RX 580 8gb Any intel + RX 580 would also work.
  11. 1920x1080 definetly, I don't really care for higher qualities right now, since my monitor doesn't even support it, and I don't intend to upgrade it any time soon, so 1920x1080 is basically my go to resolution.
  12. if anyone using a ryzen + rx580 build ever record/stream Naval Action, could you please leave a link to the video for me? I would really appreciate to see how that build would perform in Naval Action. Doesn't matter if you have a i5~i7 + rx580, I would still like to see how the graphics video performs. I appreciate anyone that would show this to me and whoever is interested in building a AMD PC in the future, specially to see how it performs in Naval Action.
  13. If the developers are not willing to leave the choice on the player's hand to choose their own names, perhaps a name generator would solve that? Something like randomize name until you get a fitting one for your liking, that would indeed be more precisely to the time being, since captains didn't choose their ships nor names, they were simply assigned to them whenever they needed a captain, so I don't think giving that choice to the player would be wise, most of the players are naval officers, perhaps the pirates would've been different, but having in mind that they don't even have custom flags, why would gamelabs give them the choice of naming their ships. I'm all forward for this idea, but knowing gamelabs history of throwing a thumb to the playerbase, I don't see this system coming to us at all, it would be satisfying us too much for gamelabs to accept.
  14. I still hope we get ships from the core nations first; Spain, GB, France and Netherlands. Denmark can wait.
  15. I don't really care for 1440p, I'll usually play at 1080p 60hz or might upgrade my monitor to 144hz in the future. But I don't mind 1440p, 'cause 1080p is definetly okay for me. I've been a NVIDIA guy all my life, and I don't have the budget right now to afford a good intel + nvidia build right now, that's why AMD is looking mighty attractive to me right now. I've been researching framerate differencies, how it performs compared to the 1060, 1660, 1070 and other graphics cards from nvidia, Ryzen also has been compared to few great intel CPUs so far, so yeah, it's a good cpu all around, that's why I'm considering turning-coat. I'm currently sitting at a build like this; AMD RYZEN 5 2600X 3.6GHZ (4.25GHZ TURBO), 6-CORE 12-THREAD, COOLER WRAITH SPIRE, AM4, YD260XBCAFBOX POWERCOLOR RADEON RX 580 RED DEVIL, 8GB GDDR5, 256BIT, AXRX 580 8GBD5-3DH/OC GIGABYTE B450M GAMING, DDR4, AM4 Motherboard DDR4 XPG GAMMIX D10, 8GB 2400MHZ, AX4U240038G16-SRG 2x8GB (16GB) RAM SSD SANDISK PLUS SDSSDA-120G-G27 120GB SATA III LEITURA: 530MB/S E GRAVAÇÕES: 400MB/S I already have a 1TB HDD on my currently setup, plus my power supply is enough for it aswell. That setup is currently sitting at a price of R$4.200,00 reais (Brazil). Intel + NVIDIA sits around the R$5.000,00 and above in my country, unless I go with older builds, in which case it goes toe to toe with the AMD build. I also don't mind putting a GTX 1060 6gb in that build if the RX 580 doesn't satisfy me enough.
  16. Anyone here playing Naval Action using a Ryzen 5 2600X + RX 580 8GB that could share a video~gameplay or streaming test so I can see how it performs? FPS wise & graphics. Ryzen 7 1800X Ryzen 7 1700 Ryzen 5 1600 Ryzen 5 1600X Ryzen 5 2400G I'm thinking about getting a Ryzen 5 2600X RX 580 8GB build soon enough, but I can't manage to find any gameplay of Naval Action currently using this type of pc build, one of the reasons why I'm creating this thread. I don't know if this is the right place to ask for this, if not, admin could you kindly move the thread to the correct location, please?
  17. Any info on the starting factions? I haven't been up-to-date with the patches. And do you ever plan on making a multiplayer version of this? Similar to Empire Total war, like you create a server/round to play with your friends and you can control your own nation while they control theirs? Will this involve politics or any type of management or will it be strictly naval?
  18. Few portuguese vessels, few frigates, corvettes and sloops of war. 44-gun Portuguese frigate, "Princesa Carlota" (Princess Carlota) Corvette rigged Sloop 20-gun, "Lealdade" (Loyalty) Another Corvette rigged as a Sloop, 26-gun "Andorinha" Corvette D. João I 19-gun Corvette "Tejo", 20-gun Corvette "Reino Unido", 20-gun Ship of the Line 98-gun, "Neptune" Ship of the line 4th rate 64-gun, "Africa"
  19. Give the crafter the chance to name his craft, instead of it simply being open to everybody. And for real, whoever hello kittying put something wrong, foul or even completely out of reason, just ban him temporarily or punish him accordinly, that shouldn't be too hard. If you craft the ship, you can name it and you can color it, paint DLCs and paint schemes should be used when crafting a ship, not as a type of permanent upgrade.
