  1. Yes, Thanks for the note. I've been able to read about it by now. Anyway, that topic is not about the specific "content" of individual patches, but about a general theme in communicating those changes to use - players. It has been a rule, that the changes are poorly communicated, with lack of detail, and often - delayed. Since from what I heard from discussions with other players, I'm not the only one concerned by that, I decided to bring this topic up for discussion... But we are yet to hear from the devs. They seem to be unwilling to respond to this yet (they were quite quick to delete this topic the first time I brought it up though, which is... well,. concerning, although they explained that they did that as it had misleading tittle. More details in this post). So, dear devs - what would be Your comments to what I wrote in the first post of the thread?
  2. @admin @Ink Could You comment on my suggestions in regards to patch notes communication? There was an update today again. I came to forums to see what was changed and could find nothing.
  3. @Sir Texas Sir - the case is, that neutral ports didn't used to have timers and that change was not communicated upfront, neither it was communicated immediately after the patch was applied. So, just to clarify - my post had nothing to do with any specific nation or port. What I wanted to bring up for discussion is the lack of consistency, detail and information when it comes to patches, bug fixes or other changes to the game mechanics applied by the developers, which is relevant for all nations and players. Despite the fact, that devs DID publish patch notes for that particular patch, with a delay though, my comments still stand and I'd like to hear from devs about what they have to say about the points I brought up.
  4. Dear Devs. Ojk has created a post about poor information available around the NPC Port Raids mechanics, which developed into a general discussion about patch notes, or rather - lack of thereof, or a poor quality of it. Unfortunately the topic was closed before the discussion could develop for good, hence I'm creating a new thread dedicated just for that. Few people pointed out (I believe that Gregory was one of them) in that other thread, that this is no longer an Alpha or Beta release with us being community testers, and I fully agree with that, and based on comments from other players, I'm not the only one. Today I logged on to the game and noticed: 1) some "seasoned" woods. I have no idea what that is. 2) Maracaibo was dropped and it has a PB timer. How come? What is a seasoning shed? How do I get it? What is the difference in the seasoned woods? Why does a neutral port have a PB timer? Came to forums to look for details, and found none... Since when this game was released, we have become customers that have bought a product and we need to be informed about every single change that You, developers, do to that product that we have paid for. Every player, regardless of how much time he/she has for the game, or how close he/she is with You, developers, should have a chance to get a full understanding of the current game mechanics without the need for extensive "testing" or investigation. Most of player vjust want to play now, not invest their time and resources into testing different scenarios, options, and general - trial and error. This means, that EVERY SINGLE CHANGE to the game, should be clearly communicated as a patch note, regardless of how minor the change is. This will allow everyone to have equal chances in using the game mechanics. It will also add transparency and cut all suggestions that developers might be favoring some players by providing them with a "heads up" on the upcoming changes with details not available to others, which knowledge could then be abused, or at least used to gain advantage over other players. Knowledge is power, and I see no reason for a PvP game to allow for an inequality among player community in that field. Therefore, to recap, my requests to You, devs, are as follows: 1) Create a separate thread in "Patch notes" section of this forums or, maybe even better - on steam update page, for every single Patch, Hot fix, minor fix, bug fix etc. that You apply to the Production Server. There should be new topic for every change applied (when we need to download an update after maintenance that is when there should be a new topic on the forums with the details of what was changed). Currently, WHEN there are patch notes or hot fix notes communicated, they are often hidden somewhere deep in the middle of the 20-page thread difficult to find even for those that have once already managed to stumble upon them. 2) Communicate the changes ASAP after they are applied, preferably before the maintenance windows ends, so that every player could familiarize themselves with the changes before he/she logs on to the game after maintenance 3) Be precise and thorough in the patch notes. Avoid general statements. You know precisely what changes were applied. List them exactly one after another to provide a precise and complete picture of the new game mechanics after the change. The same applies to the bug fixes. If there was a bug or an exploit reported or discovered and You fixed it - write exactly what was it and how the fix changed the game mechanics. That is all just a good practice for any software that is sold to public. I can't see why this wouldn't be applied to Naval Action. I hope You'll agree with me. If not, I would expect to hear some reasoning behind not applying my suggestions above.
  5. I will repost it then with a different title. I'm sorry if the title I chose have misled anyone. That wasn't my intention.
  6. Dear Devs/forum moderators. I would like to ask, what happened to the post titled "Patch Notes", which I created yesterday in the "Suggestions" section of this forum? Post was here: https://forum.game-labs.net/topic/32827-patch-notes/ but it has gone away yesterday around 19:20 ST.

    Fake news!

That is true, but that is also a very convenient excuse, in case this kind of exploit actually exists.

    Fake news!

Just FYI. I had the same happen to me twice. Once by russian player on Agamemnon near El Rancho, second time - by some frenchie around Terre-de-bas. In case of russian - I was already taging him, full speed, full sails both of us, and 2 seconds before the battle started, he dissapeared into thin air (I mean - he suddently stopped with sails up, like if he had joined a battle). Countdown timer reached 0 and nothing happened. soon after, his ship dissapeared. Frenchie, as I recall, dissapeared the same way soon beofre I entered his join circle. I though they have joined some OW kill mission, but the fact of them having a mission in exactly that spot where I was about to tag them, was quite suspicious. Anyway - there was no proof so I decided not to report it. But it seems that I'm not the only one experiencing this kind of behavior, so perhaps there is some exploit that allows players to dissapear into thin air?
  9. I, generally, like that concept, which favors more even fights, but, in its' current form, it's too easy to exploit. And exploiting it on purpose should be penalized, until a solution for the exploit is found. The problem is, of course, that it's very difficult, to prove, that someone exploited it on purpose. On the other hand, it needs to be secured that those, who join on weaker side, could leave seeing that the side they joined, is dead already, or dying.
  10. Hello. It seems that API has not been updated during today's update. (I've raised similar issue some time ago): Here are the headers for reference (again, as previously - same dates on both: HTTP and HTTPS): HTTP: Date →Tue, 21 May 2019 10:29:50 GMT Expires →Tue, 21 May 2019 14:29:50 GMT Last-Modified →Mon, 20 May 2019 10:33:23 GMT HTTPS: Date →Tue, 21 May 2019 10:29:50 GMT Expires →Tue, 21 May 2019 14:29:50 GMT Last-Modified →Mon, 20 May 2019 10:33:23 GMT
  11. Thank You, That is correct. I can now see that the data was updated few minutes ago according to header data. http://storage.googleapis.com/nacleanopenworldprodshards/Shops_cleanopenworldprodeu1.json Date →Wed, 08 May 2019 11:14:10 GMT Expires →Wed, 08 May 2019 15:14:10 GMT Last-Modified →Wed, 08 May 2019 10:23:05 GMT https://storage.googleapis.com/nacleanopenworldprodshards/Shops_cleanopenworldprodeu1.json Date →Wed, 08 May 2019 11:20:51 GMT Expires →Wed, 08 May 2019 15:20:51 GMT Last-Modified →Wed, 08 May 2019 10:23:05 GMT
  12. Hi. I noticed this quite a while a go. Every now and then, the API files (at least some of them, like the shop one) are not being updated during maintanance. This happened again today for me. Sometimes the http: URL is not updated, while the HTTPS one is, other times it's the opposite, but today both seem to be outdated. For example: http://storage.googleapis.com/nacleanopenworldprodshards/Shops_cleanopenworldprodeu1.json Header data from POSTMAN application: Date →Wed, 08 May 2019 10:05:56 GMT Expires →Wed, 08 May 2019 14:05:56 GMT Last-Modified →Tue, 07 May 2019 10:22:54 GMT https://storage.googleapis.com/nacleanopenworldprodshards/Shops_cleanopenworldprodeu1.json Date →Wed, 08 May 2019 10:05:56 GMT Expires →Wed, 08 May 2019 14:05:56 GMT Last-Modified →Tue, 07 May 2019 10:22:54 GMT It's like these files are exaclty the same, wheras usually the Last-Modified dates are slightly different between those two. I checked this from my phone via POSTMAN for android and the result is the same, so it rules out any caching issue on my side, I believe. Am I therefore correct, that Shop API data was not generated during today's maintanance then?
  13. @Ink @admin Can You please post a link to a patch note that describes the change of battle timers? I'd like to learn more about it, but due to the way how You post info about changes to the game, it's difficult to find anything here. (a.k.a "ninja patches") Discussed in this post:
  14. Seriously - there is a compensation possible for that??? I have closed my Vieques outpost with a Victory, some purple Santi, if I recall well, some other ships and clan cargo, while moving here just because I was dumb (and maybe drunk a bit), and it never occurred to me as an option to ask for a compensation for that as the game clearly asks and warns You few times, before it lets You close the outpost... But seeing this post it seems like I am dumber than I thought...
  15. Well. I feel like my post below will be like putting a cat among pigeons, as I assume that most of those, who replied above have at least one (possibly more) alt accounts themselves, but.... ..current game mechanics favor players having multiple accounts (where each additional account costs) by giving those players an advantage in the game over those, that didn't spend that additional money. On top of that, Developers seem to have nothing against it.... If that is not Pay To Win, then I don't know, what is. side note - I fully appreciate and admire Lenin's mutlitasking skills as obviously If I had money and 3+ alt accounts, it alone would not allow me to do, what Lenin did in that video. So skill is obviously important as well, at least for this kind of alt utilization. But utilizing atls for the economy does not require skills at all while providing a significant economic advantage over those, that don't use alts. And that is Pay To Win in my humble opinion.
  16. Thank You @qw569 but I guess I was not precise enough in my question. What I meant is that I would like to check, how many, and which resources do I need to obtain to craft a ship of a certain type (to calculate, for eg. the real production cost). So I look at, let's say, item template 747, which is the L'Ocean Blueprint, and I can see all "ingredients" in "FullRequirements" node. Of course, those ingredients, have their own ingredients and then I need to find those as well, etc, until I reach "raw materials". The problem is, that ships, as opposed to other craftable items, have different "versions" (different frame and planking woods). Depending on choice here, different woods wood framing parts and planking are required, and also - a different amount of those materials, depending on the choice. I was able to find how many framing parts of a certain wood is required depending on wood framing choice ("WoodTypeDescs" node), but I can't find information on the "planking" part. For eg. if I choose L'Ocean Teak / Fir, I can find, how many Teak Framing Parts I need, but not how many Fir Planks I need to craft it. I thought for a moment, that it would be a fixed amount, just a different wood type, but it's not like that and the number of planks needed changes depending on the wood choice, so I'm missing this information in the recipe. Or am I missing something?
  17. O7. Where do I find Ship planking (trim) recipe data? I could find all recipe data except for that one. For eg. L'Ocean Blueprint (Item ID 747), provides all crafting ingredients information in "FullRequirements" node, and Frame Ingredients in "WoodTypeDescs" node, but I fail to find information on Planking ingredient amounts. What am I missing?
  18. Adding on top of that - shall there be any clans in DK willing to join a non-aggression pact, or even a full alliance, we are of course very much open - please join our discord or contact any of the officers ingame (OjK, DaRho PL, Don Pioman) to agree on terms.
  19. If we're trying to introduce more realism with that change, then let's add a fog of war to the map in battles as well. If You can't see the other ship with Your eyes, You shouldn't be able to see it on the map either. That would be interesting... and battles in such weather conditions would most likely be very boring and ineffective. at least for the attackers
  20. Yup. I'm familiar with the HTTP headers, it just didn't occur to me to use them to check if the data has been updated already very useful thing to know Thanks
  21. Quite strange... I checked again a moment ago, and could see differences with my bare eyes. Then used some online comparison tool for URLs (https://www.diffnow.com/) and it has shown no differences... refreshed the pages in browser again, and now they're the same... very odd. Perhaps some cache issue or something. However I checked that on few PCs at my home at the issue was on all of them, now it's gone... Anyway - thanks for the reply. BTW. Did never consider to check the headers to see if the data was updated already. Good idea. Thanks.
  22. API data on HTTPS not updated during today's maintenance? The HTTP link was updated, HTTPS one seems to be the same as day before. for eg: https://storage.googleapis.com/nacleanopenworldprodshards/Ports_cleanopenworldprodeu1.json http://storage.googleapis.com/nacleanopenworldprodshards/Ports_cleanopenworldprodeu1.json
  23. Since I am failing to find any relation between Your post above and my post, the only thing that comes into my mind at the moment is an old Polish saying: "hit the table and the scissors will answer". Not sure if that is translatable to English, but i don't believe that to be an issue in this conversation...
  24. Just wondering... What is it in this game, that makes so many of skilled PvP players display some kind of a egomania and uncontrollable urge to preach others and/or show them, how much better they are from all others (maybe not directly, but through a selection of words / attitude), especially in public? Modesty seems to be unusually uncommon here. Have this game accidentally collected the features needed to make it a perfect platform to deal with one's lack of acceptance, appreciation and recognition? It's a feat so common throughout seasoned PvP players (obviously not all, but many) that I doubt it's a pure coincidence. I have a theory that there is something in this game that makes people with certain mental... attitude feel so good when wining PvP, perhaps by tickling their ego, and that triggers them to play more and more, allowing them to gain exceptional PvP experience over time, as opposed to those, who either focus on economy/PvE and only casually play do PvP, or simply stop playing the game after a while. Forum / GLOBAL activity of such players, and the fact that I see the same names over and over again in similar posts of a similar content, only seems to back up what I wrote above. I think one could write a quite interesting psychological thesis on that.
