  1. I had a shitload of fun grinding ship slots and exp when i first started. I agree with your point that a wipe won't automatically fix all the issiues in the game BUT for example the current economy system (when dub drop rates where pretty much nonexistend in PvE) would have benefited from a fresh start. Atm the economy is not in a good state and a new well thought out system which gets restarts to test should benefit us imo. You can't change an economy system and expect it to work when you keep massive ammounts of money and goods flowing arround.
  2. at least credit @Roronoa Sensei
  3. Agree there the PB was intense and a lot of fun!
  4. Today during the PB of Cartagena Sweden vs GB the server went down. GB had won the PB we had 998 points a Mortar Brig sinking and a Buc allmost sunk. Screenshots and vidoes coming below: We have 100% prove as you can see in the video above that we would have won the PB and would like the port as a result of it. As you can hopefully understand all of us are very upset with this especially becuase it is the second time it happened in a HAVOC offensive PB. Also some of us have strange issiues with logging in now. I get a very strange screen as it can be seen in the next screenshot:
  5. It's not like we don't try to get others to help us or that we would not have the numbers ourselves BUT that many are just not willing to do it. By how you make it sound you are in a great spot for RvR. Why did you only flip a few shallow ports than? There has to be reasons why you don't do it. Yeah but you now have a stockpile of things so just use them. The "I will loose it anyway so no point in playing" mentality is common and I don't understand it. And yeah many don't like the idea of a wipe but it may be in 2 month it may be in 8 month so why worry about it too much before we know when it will happen. Besides, everyone knew what they got themselves into by playing a early access game. In my opinion the prices are fine and so is the loot you get. I am someone who hates his live 5 minutes into killing AI so I very much like the drift awy from havng to girind PvE for ships. I didn't test it myself but I would guess it's a bit faster to get the doubs in PvP but it's a lot more risky so I am totaly ok with it. I very much dislike making doubs easiely acessible trough PvE while it being harder and riskyer in PvP. Good rewards in PvP lead to PvP. But a reward/price discussion is pretty far off topic. so I'll stop here.
  6. We have troubles motivating 10 people to do PvE for 1-2 hrs depending on how far away a port is especially becuase it is allways very uncertain we will be able to fill the port battle the next day or even get in. I totally agree with what you said. Just becuase you might loose some ships in a few monthtime there is no reason not to play. Also what better time to use ships than when they will lost anyway at some point in the near future. All in all I agree with redii tho. The PvE+ low numbers are more of a problem than shipcost for most who used to do a lot of RvR.
  7. I noticed that much. Still won't hurt repeating it. Than again OW MMO with PvP instances is a gank fest and will allways be which is fine.
  8. People prefer ganks becuase it makes them feel sucessfull when they don't sink and kill somoene else. What I would like however is what Liq said about PvP zones. Make them more balanced with joining rules so people get balanced fights there. ATM they are still ganking heaven
  9. We were in Bellonas and 3rd rates without speed mods. We came there to fight not to run away. I personnaly hate the meta of gank and run it's boring and bad gameplay in my opinion. We also came there expecting to face 20-25 ppl in bigger ships as we did in the first fight. My problem is not the initial fight which we were asking to get compleaty outnumbered in my issiue is there is no rewards for such fights as you will get killed outside.
  10. Admin said he doesn't want that before. If he wants it now I am cool with it but imo that would lead to people not going out for risky PvP anymore which takes away a large part of the game. Honestly I like that idea even better. Herd it multiple times. @admin this might be something to considere. Maybe there is a way to make invis last longer the longer the fight lasted so people have a better chance of getting away especially after long fights.
  11. I think I am on the side being "ganked" (if ganking means fighting a enemy outnumering/gunning you by a fair bit) more often than I do the opposite. The fights I brough up were with us having at max 1/4 of their BR in the first fight but sinking a few but than not being able to ever disengage from those fights becuase they just bring more and more. That's my point. High risk should give good rewards if you win not if you win and than also get away from people chasing you for 3 hrs. As said before we won fights we had a heavy disadvantage in so why punish us for going for those fights? We should not win them so if we do let us keep our rewards pls. Yes it is. the sad part is we didn't get to keep most of them and lost ships worth that ammount of dubs becuase they could tag us over and over again after which is fine imo if you get to keep the rewards of the fight you won.
  12. totaly agree there. counter ganking is to valid already. Don't punish those few bringing PvP even more.
  13. Tell me you wouldn't destroy doubloons if you sank a few people and saw 25 outside on the OW with knowing you have no chance to run away.
  14. Okay make them so they can not be destroyed than. Also I don't agree with your point. You only get back with "big booty" if you go in small groups. If you go in small groups you get tagged until you sink. @admin suggested in a thread about missions for new players to send them to enemy safezone so they want you to go to enemy waters. Also PvP is dead if everyone just buggers arroud their own ports. So why not combine our suggestions. Make it so they can not be destroyed but allow players to secure a certain ammount. Seems like a win-win situation to me than
  15. This is not the topic here. If you think they are failing elsewhere report it and write a suggestion how to fix them. No use just saying stuff is bad especially if it's in the wrong place as well.
  16. We tried. pretty hard when there is 25+ waiting for 3 players. They split up and caught all of us.
  17. if that's the solution I have to say game mechanics are failing hard. This was a suggestion to avoid exactly those exploits.
  18. Why keep them if I know the spanish get them? I don't like a system that rewards prople waiting for hrs to attack someone until they run out of reps without ever giving them a chance to get away. So I can at least make the reward they get as small as possible.
  19. No we had one fight (17v4 in their favour and we won) and there was about 25 outside a fight outside the R-Zone. We wanted to leave asap after the first fight but couldn't. In the end we lost 2 bellonas and a 3rd rate while they lost a buc, bellona, 3rd rate and wasa. My point is we fought a super outnumbered fight. tryed to get away and got retagged. Sank one of them just for them to leave and retag outside again.
  20. This is about not moving doubloons into your chest in OW and why I think it would be better if you could. I personally think there is a slight problem with not being able to move doubloons into your chest in open world. Me and smoe friends had multiple nice PvP fights we won but as soon as we got out we had a even larger fleet waiting for us to kill us all. this resulted in us destroying all our doubloons in our hold about 25k in total. In the end both sides lost more than they gained from 2-4hrs of PvP which doesn't fit with the theme "PvP should be rewarded". So here is my suggestion. Allow players to move Doubloons to their chest in OW but make the chest even smaller. I would say maybe 2500-5000 Doubloons. That way players could after a big fight safe some of their rewards in their chest while usualy still having some in hold especially in bigger ships. This would for one reward the side fighting the outnumbered side which gets attacked again and agin after with no chance of running away which would in my opinion lead to people being more willing to fight the second or third fight if they kno their ship is replaced with the doubloons they saved while it still gives a big reward to people catching others after a fight. With the current system thousends of doubloons are destroyed all the time to not let them go to the enemy which is in my opinion a bit of bad mechanic. Another idea to balance the smaller chest even better would be if chest size could be dynamic for ships. (eg 1st rate has 7.5k chest, 3rd rate 5k and so on). This would allow players to again move a certain ammount into their chest while running away after the first fight without ever having lower rank ships save a large ammount of doubloons. EDIT: Changed topic name becuase many people had some nice suggestions not directly fitting the topic.
  21. As I mentioned in my long post above. The best way to reward people especially in the beginning is ships in my opinion. Some of the missions are tailored towarde players loosing ships. Loosing ships is part of the game but with current prices it is also true that a 5th rate in costs absolutely nothing to craft. Especially in a clan. What @Grundgemunkey suggested above is a very very good idea in my opinion. Make some of those missions mandatory for rank promotions while handing out other rewards for them. Now you see a Max Rank player but they might have never PvPed and are a super easy fight and others are low rank and a tough nut to crack. By making ranks only achivable by compleating certain missions everyone can at least be sure a "Commodore" rank player has had some PvP fights. This would also help with RvR as taking people with no PvP experiance into PBs is usualy very high effort for the commander to allways look out for them. If we can see via rank who achived which missions we can guess what they know and don't know a lot better.
  22. For me a mission that tells me "Sail to LT and open an outpost" is boring. If you add stuff to the mission the player has to do on the way it would be ok in my opinion. I know some like long sails but I think the majority hates it. Saying it's boring becuase you want it to be boring is just wrong. The ONLY way to make that sail itheresting for me (speaking for myself with allmost 3k hrs in the game not a new player perspective) is if I would be guarateed to find PvP on the way. For a new player this might not be the case but showing them there is allways things to do should be the goal so they don't get bored by long sails withing their first few hrs of gameplay. I like the idea of Grunge a lot. Make some of those missions bound to Ranks. The PB mission is perfect as a requirement to be promoted to Commodore. I think the best way for thoe missions to work is if they are required for promotions while also giving nice rewards.
