  1. Balance between good gameplay and realism is not often easy. But in my opinion navigating, knowing your location (made easy with sextant perk already) and communicating with others in regards to locations is healthy part of game, and "pealing" off another layer of realism don't seem worth it. Matter of taste of course but...
  2. Judging from the poll so far, most seem to believe nothing will happen in regards to players own choices to make rvr. Some people have mentioned clan wars before, even though i never been a fan of the idea (same nation attacking same nation, just weird) maybe some version of clan war is what game needs. Now clans can hide simply by switching to Russia, wouldn't be possible with clan wars. But idea of nation attacking own nation is, not so appealing..
  3. I am solo hunter and always been in any of bottom 3 nations (except for pirates now and then,). So i think left comfort zone some time ago.. You are not really explaining just repeating yourself. What is specialised raider anyway?, someone who doesn't sail unmodded ai capped ships with hardly any repairs on?. And don't make this about NEW ppl, because new ppl have no chance in pvp anyway until they are NOT new anymore, no matter what ship you give him. Give NEW ppl lo/wo golden seasoned lócean he will probably loose against AI capped frigate. This thread is not about New ppl, and it's not about SNOW ship either, (i made a topic of what i think of that ship already) completely irrelevant to what we are discussing here. I don't care how many NEW ppl zerg into russia, the more the better more enemies to sink. We are talking about RvR and RvR hurting because of Zerg, about too many "top" clans in one nation making. Who cares if 500 noobs in Russia?, or 300 trader focused players want play there, again... it's about too many powerful rvr clans in same nation. P.s you never answered my question, Have you ever been on the attacking side of a pvp battle?. into enemy coastal waters near enemy ports?.

No disrespect but based on what you wrote it seems you might need a better perspective from that part. And this thread is not about br or game mechanics. Because in contrary to what you claim in your first line, this is a problem of "player" distribution (or lack of). Game mechanics don't force you to zerg. If it did then 100% players would be russian. They are not, because players have choices and choose to zerg because it's easier, more protected, less challenging etc etc.

  6. If want rvr they won't have a choice. If they happy without rvr, then.. happy days🤣 Also, some of the "noob little clan who moved there to avoid destruction" are actually not so noob and not so little😉 (Half? of Reds for example?), or @Christendomclan.. can't remember name..?.

  8. Funny thing how we players deny ourselves content. We want rvr... but we kill rvr. Then blame developers that game mechanics prevent rvr. We prevent it. NA players in nutshell🤣
  9. BF and Reds both started as Russian after release, and instead of stopping them other clans started joining. Starting with no ports is irrelevant if you have players. Didn't take long for zerg to start. Sorry, BF and Reds two great clans with great players, and i am not undermining their achievements. The clans who kneeled and joined them instead of fighting are. And i don't believe neither Reds or BF asked for clans to join, quite the opposite i think they probably didn't like it, but they can't do anything about it either. It's like when you are having good battle and suddenly 3 more ships joining my side, turning battle into shit... I can't control that, any less then BF/Reds can control who joins their nation.
  10. Peaceful days in the caribbean, some ports switching hands but not rarely without battle. Russian zerg pretty much dictate who gets what. How long will it last?, which clan will be the first to get bored and unzerg?. Will any?...🤣, or will more clans join Russ to complete the circle?. One big happy family😘 I think BF, ... REDS are oldest Russ clan (except for the spanish part) and probably feel other clans are "last in first out". Shock and NN seem more like opportunitists more then challenge seekers. So @Captain Reversemy bet is on you!😘 Do it! P.s May i propose China, your chinese name would be: Captain Nizhuan 逆转
  11. Earlier today i sailed my christian and redoutable from Chagres to Portobelo. Awhile ago i undock from Portobelo and end up outside La Tortue. I enter port again to see what is going on. And sure enough i am suddenly at La Tortue. I did not tow it there, i know this for 2 reasons: nr 1: my tow i unused nr 2: i have repairs etc on hold, can't tow with anything in hold nr 3.: i am pretty sure i did not sail it from chagres to la tortue🤣 I sent ticket in game around 16:00. Did not see ticket number. (p.s the christian seen at la tortue on image is different christian, there is one at portobelo aswell)
  12. This core of this game is rvr. What exactly do you gain being in Russia?. With nobody left to conquer there sure won't be much rvr. Players want rvr, they will unzerg and do rvr. If players don't want rvr they will stay in Russia and twiddle their thumbs, we will see how long they will do that... and in time if nothing changes then it just proves that players prefer being bored and unchallenged then having fun but challenged. (Much like a gank, you follow your gank group in the battle for 45 mins without firing a single shot because you are too far away and too slow chasing down that 1 opponent, your fast ships finally catch up and sink the enemy and all you did during that battle was to follow like a big fat cow doing absolutely nothing, sounds like fun?, not really but at least you won't loose...) And if that proves to be the case (which i don't believe), then i feel sorry for them all😂
  13. Many nations have "best" resource, "best" ships. And other nations farm capitals more then russians.... Some like it, some don't, but it did not kill the game, maybe it made you specificly loose interest. But game is pretty much alive as it was 2 years ago, (maybe even more people playing?). Some battles in real life went on for days, you want that in game too?. There are alot of things in this game that didn't happen or wasn't possible in real life. If you don't like the mechanic, fine.. but some things (not necessarily this) are better not being 100% realistic as it would be negative for gameplay. Is that game on pve server more realistic?.... have no mods?, special woods or repairs there?.
  14. When two ships are in boarding combat. Any shots fired upon the ship being boarded (by surrounding ships, friend or foe) should damage crew on both sides, since literally the attacker crew is onboard the boarded ship. This includes of course, the popular de-crew by raking. Rake a boarded ship should damage crew on both sides.
  15. Finding historical chinese flags not easy, there aren't many that would fit the game. So no wonder the devs left us with not so many to choose from. Ming dynasti flag from year 1368-1644, however not sure if fictional or historical. Because i also read that Throughout majority of history China had no need for a national flag. The first Chinese national flag was adopted in 1889 during the Qing dynasty. (Those flags we already have in game). And as for the flag below, "When the Qing dynasty purchased warships from the United Kingdom in 1862, Horatio Nelson Lay designed several naval flags based on the custom flag he designed.[9] These proposals were not recognized by the Qing dynasty government.[10]" (source wikipedia) So i guess neither of them would be historial accurate to implement in game, thought i would post them anyway.
  16. Speaking for myself only, I stopped attacking trade ships long time ago, sometimes i tag them to see who it is, if i attack it's because i dislike that particular player some reason. But other then that, trade ships not worth the time or attention. (Much like requins and other i want pvp but not really ships). If i encounter a warship with 3 trade ships, those traders are no interest. It's the warship i am after to battle. (Indiaman exception i always attack because they give 5 rate pvp mission count) So some sort of trade with enemy is ow (or even in battle) would be interesting. But i guess players would find way to abuse this. Maybe add demand ransom / offer ransom , ships have to be not moving and next to eachother. After ransom complete both ships leave the battle (as long as either of them are not tagged). After complete ransom neither ship can attack the other for a certain period of time to ensure that no re-tag after ransom payed.

  18. Map is not the problem, thus reset map is pointless and punishing for players that have invested time in the ports they have. I think we will see a rather peaceful pvp server a limited time until some clans get so bored that they un-zerg themselves. Once bored enough, players will create content. And I don't think it will take too long😘.
  19. if that is true russia should appoint a negotiator older then 12...🤣 The game released with Russia being zerg nation and has been ever since, only difference is more and more clans joined them over time. So it got worse and worse. I am honestly surprised that at least one of their bigger clans didn't leave russia long ago (except Reds who i believe were in russ nation long before it became an rvr power), i thought players would roughly "balance" it up themselves. I was wrong. KRAKEN deserves a little mocking (except from russians who should in regards to this be quiet and shamefully keep low profile). But maybe this is what game needs, ... maybe all should join Russ but not sure it would help. Maybe all would just start pve together like one big happy family and forget this actually pvp server.:). Guess time will tell!
  20. It takes two to tango, and since you don't seem to care about your ports (you left them by switching nation) then you could easily denied them content by just not showing up?. IF they would have taken your most valuable ports for ship crafting your decision would somewhat more, understandable (somewhat). Not only can you not attack any russian ports (most ports in the caribbean), you can no longer attack any russian players (most players are russians). Who are you going to fight with that most powerful PB clan?.. when no opponents left to remotely offer a challenge?. P.s Understand this friendly mocking from my part. This most interesting going on forum right now😘
  21. Sarcasm aside, Krake goal is deny content, not create. Their actions are probably best examples of why changing nation every 30 day is problem for healthy rvr. But maybe something good will come of this, content deniers might be reason for future changes. Can just hope it will for better and not worse😘
  22. We were more thinking some leaders in Krake. They natural ability to create good content and battles.
