  1. It makes more sense to carry as many repairs as you want, but only be able to repair a max amount of damage, if you go under 50% you cant repair higher
  2. I seriously doubt that, and if thats all thats keeping you here I dont see you lasting long anyway. I wasnt saying remove pvp marks i was saying remove pvp exclusive rewards, make them all combat marks and have pvp count for lots of CM. give new players a fighting chance as this game is very top heavy.
  3. I disagree. i'm behind this suggestion. however crew in AC is a bad burn. Sid Meiers pirates has far more depth and character to the crew.
  4. Its not unlimited repairs thats the issue its how much people are able to repair. you see guys rebuilding their ship and throwing up new mast after mast. A tiered system would solve that. I disagree with you on the wind, the rng is good. If it was stagnant then that takes away a major factor of the time period.
  5. No one is disregarding that, the root of the problem is the devs cant remove alts so they have recently killed to stop farming, which results in the problem you are facing now. I think if you took away pvp exclusive rewards it would stop people taking advantage of alts cuz you only get slightly better rewards for sinking an alt in a cutter than an AI in a brig. you could still do it but it becomes far more time consuming.
  6. I agree with the first. I recently posted something similar to your second point. it went something like this: The mistake many players seem to make when analyzing games like this is focusing on realism, rather than capturing the essence of realism, which I think this game does very well for the most part. The biggest issue I see in the game as far as combat goes is how much and how quickly players are able to rebuild their ships (often more than once) half way through a battle. I think its especially demoralizing for new players who see all the damage they do undone. Combat is centered around who can out repair the other. Instead of removing repairs, change the damage to a tier system, I.E. once your hull or sail goes below 75% you cant repair above that, then again for 50% then 30% 15% and so on. It would maintain a bit of the essence of reality while keeping it fun to play. Also when you go into rigging shock the sails should go wild instead of staying in whatever position they are in at the time as uncontrolled sails like to do as they please.
  7. maybe the solution is to remove upgrades only attainable by pvp marks. make them all combat marks, and pvp just transfers into lots of combat marks. It wont stop the clubbing but at least give the new players a fighting chance at getting the good upgrades. you could remove pvp rewards all together and people would grumble about it but I very much doubt there would be any significant drop in combat, except the seal clubbers who now might aswell farm the AI instead of new players. It would also make alt farming redundant for the same reason.
  8. Would also make battles where your outnumbered 2-1 winnable. not gaurenteed of course but would give you a fighting chance.

  10. With all the people calling for more points awarded for killing the crew and it being harder to do so than everything else, I ask the devs their reason for not changing what gives pvp and kill credit from hull damage to player damage, I.E. if you board and capture a player why should that not give kill credit. I understand what the current system is, just as Sir texas has just described it doesnt work.
  11. So sir texas shouldnt be upset about anything for winning the boarding and not getting much credit for just killing the crew.
  12. Giving pvp rewards for killing the player would settle that issue instead of only rewards for sinking the ship.
  13. I'm not misinterpreting, I understand the kill is sinking the ship. My suggestion is to change it from the ship to the sailors (players).
  14. as far as I was aware this was the suggestion to the devs collumn not "ask the vets if they approve" collumn. I'm not denying sometimes the ship is worth more than pvp, im suggesting capturing ships should be worth more. I know you dont like change but this being an EA game its about change. Thats also exactly what im saying you should get pvp for the kill not the sinking of the ship. might even encorage new strategies. If nothing else boarding would be more fun.
  15. I just think it pointless to have to choose in the first place. A captured ship is the best possible outcome of a battle, you should get the best reward.
