safe zones are not a problem. They are small compared to the map and those who want to stay in safe zones stay in safe zones and dont attack even if they have a numerical advantage.
So let's say someone takes out a mission to sink people in the Cartagena area. There will of course be no-one there since most people are either in there own safezone or inside another nation's (or not far from it) so will be there something to highlight where people are? It seems that while the concept is good there simply isn't the playerbase at the moment for this to be effective at drawing people out of the carebarezones since folks will just end up sailing around and not actually killing anything, they'll get bored and go back to carebearing.

Problem is, safe zones.

Let's go further, I would love if port BR would reflect the port traffic/activity and tax incomes.
11k BR port battles in the Bahamas incoming

I'd love it if the size of the city reflected how much tax the port received over a month.

We won in spirit

That same George Town when we were winning the fight but you won by circles?
I remember that.

If the Spanish have any sense they'll give that a go tonight. It's so incredibly irritating but I can't deny that it is effective in the current system.

It should be based on who wins the fight rather than who wins the kite of which the French are (unfortunately for us) masters.
We just need to come up with a more effective way of stopping them running away.

Looks more like a gang-rape than battle...😉
That's what happens when you sit next to a port battle fleet. You get ganked.

There are numerous reasons to go through reset every day. Redeemables are one example. We have no idea how many issues happen which requires stuff to be given back to players and it's done at maintenance. Reducing the amount of time that maintenance takes might be an idea.

I quite like that Letter of Marque idea.

So I was having a jolly good fight with a Swedish fellow Canon Ball and the fight was drawing to a close, boarded him once perfectly fine, he disengaged so I started to board him again.
Here was me thinking, right, this fight is in the bag, it's been a while since I killed an Ingermanland.
When I pulled I expected me to be sailing around quite merrily within a few moments outside the Swedish capital as they're so terribly desperate for content I'm told.
But no, I ended up being catapulted several hundred feet into the air hitting the water and then capsizing losing another expensive ship to a glitch (my snows ain't cheap, copper plating usually goes on them etc but I can't remember what this build was).
Please gib me my snow back.

That sounds like an excellent way of doing it actually.
