  1. In this short battle, a heavily armed French frigate, thankfully departs the battle or I would have taken some very bad damage. A premonition of the future?
  2. Playing this game like crazy... luv it! The 5th Rate Frigate HMS Bond makes her debut appearance as we destroy the French and American warships harassing our merchants at the battle of Ontario Express. We also capture the French 5th Rate Frigate L'Ambitieuse.
  3. Fight and win the battle of Filthy Smugglers.
  4. In this video I prepare my ships and troops for the next land battle: Filthy Smugglers.
  5. In this battle I destroy the enemy fleet, capture a large merchant, assault the pirate's haven inland and steal their gold!
  6. Yikes! Tried the land/sea Snatch battle last night and though I won, my Marine Corps of 4 units took a real beating. I thought about bypassing the land battle there, but will try it again with the addition of my sailors. Definitely need to put more resources into my land army in the future.
  7. Superb idea and would be some nice DLC to add to the game.
  8. Just a quick update in my Harbor which includes why you may want or not to do the Smugglers Activity side mission before ending the turn. Doing that side mission will open the Filthy Smugglers land battle for the next turn. Will probably do a "Building a better Marine Corps 2 Tutorial" next to show how I prepare my troops for battle.
  9. Silent movie (mic wasn't on), but too good to lose. I burn the Arrogante with HMS Florence (7th rated sloop I bought for the mission) and capture the frigate San Silvestra.
  10. Quick naval battle. Capture the San Giovanni.
  11. Just to let you know... when I did the tutorial I was trying to say: this is how you do it. In my campaign, however, those 2 ships will keep their second perk as I have the money to buy veterans in replacement. I think the larger point was that it is far easier, at least in my campaign, to train sailors in naval battles and then just keep moving a few over to your marines to up their quality.
  12. After fighting 2 major battles in the campaign on hard, I can say that fallback is working correctly. The norm is that when you command your troops to fallback they will fallback directly backwards from the unit they are firing on. If you are on a flank or an angle your troops very well may fallback to a position away from your line. Also if there are intervening troops (troops between your unit and the main body of your army) they can fall back in strange directions to avoid enemy contact, just as if they are routed, and enemy troops are near, they could actually flee directly towards the enemy. In the Ultimate General Civil War game you could also place them on run when they fallback, but I haven't tried that yet to see if it works.
  13. I fight the battle of Cross Fire. This is a do or die battle for my campaign.
  14. Tired of getting your troops wiped out in land battles? In this tutorial I will show you how to create better units for your transports to bring to battle!
  15. My brand new 5th Rate Frigate, HMS Devonshire combined with the 6th Rate Sloop HMS Galga, slaughter the Spanish. In a show of complete lack of situational awareness (characteristic of us old folks) the Spanish Brig Aguila appears out of no where. I capture here though and a merchant as well. Really fun battle! Hip hip hooray!
  16. Thought I would do a Port video. This one is especially important following my debacle after the Snakes and Powder battle and includes buying and outfitting my first 5th rate ship.
  17. I continue the campaign and fight the really tough Battle of Snakes and Powder. We win, but at a dear price.
  18. In this quick tutorial I explain how you choose officers to maximize the abilities of your ship and crew. Hope ya'll find it helpful!
  19. In the very first mission of the British campaign (Acting Captain)... capture the 6th rate Galga. Then you're off to the races!
  20. When you dismiss an officer, you must hit the lit "upgrade" button. This puts him into reserve. When you place him into another ship, you must also hit the "upgrade" button. Whenever you make any changes to your ships, you must upgrade the ship, and that includes officers, which should be done for free. In my video Priority of the British Campaign, I swap 3 Captains at the beginning of the video and you can see exactly how it is done.
  21. In this video I show how you change Captains and fight the Battle of Priority (and capture a sloop). The battle itself is a fairly easy affair but I'm pretty surprised how quickly my crews gain experience. A big thanks to my 4 new subscribers!
  22. OOPS! I discovered that by publishing my videos "for kids" Youtube automatically locked comments. That's been fixed, so please feel free to comment if you like. Comments, many times are very helpful to me and so have at it if you want. I'm not a pro Youtuber. I just do it for fun. Guess that shows.

  24. In this video I fight the two Cavalry battles. I dismount most of my Dragoons, keep in cover and flank my enemy. Remember to always try to scout the entire map if you have the destroyed the enemy as you might find hiding units, and in this case supply units.
  25. In this video I fight the battle Dinner for Admiral. One big learning point is always check you victory conditions before you begin the scenario. In the Harbor, the most important upgrade for me, was spending all my career points on reputation. This will allow me to buy the 6th Rate Galga.
