  1. We manage a pretty decisive victory sinking 5 and capturing another frigate.
  2. The Divisional commander shares his leadership trait with the brigades under his command. Leadership, of course, is extremely important as it determines the efficiency of the unit. For example, a brigade with 26 leadership and 35 efficiency will operate as if its efficiency is 26. So it is a cap, if you will. Clicking on the info button at the top right of the unit icon will show the units stats during a fight. You will notice that if the brigade has lost its brigadier, there will be a large drop in leadership (it will be shown in red). The remaining leadership is provided by the Divisional Commander. If the Divisional Commander is wounded or killed, all units in the division will suffer a loss in leadership. If you lose your Divisional Commander and a Brigadier is also lost, that brigades leadership will drop to 0 (or close to it I believe)... and it will be a really bad day for them.
  3. Nope. You have to win every single battle in the campaign. Can't skip any battles be they minor or major.
  4. In this battle we sink 3 and capture 4. Our haul includes 2 7th rates and 2 merchants filled with 20,000 of supply. We have a rather epic 4 on 1 versus a British frigate at the end, but unfortunately we sink her. A major disappointment.
  5. We capture two 5th rate frigates and a 7th rate. We also receive 500 badly needed muskets. A fairly easy battle.
  6. We capture a 6th rate Corvette and a 5th rate Hermione Class Frigate (yippee). It will take all my reputation to bring the new frigate into my fleet. But can I afford to not do it?
  7. Capture the Margaret... and then run away! You get a prize and 10,000 in supplies.
  8. We must repulse the British attack on Hutchinson Island.
  9. We capture 3 warships; one 5th, 6th and 7th rate each. We than land our troops and take the fort and town.
  10. Definitely not my finest battle. Nevertheless, we save the Minerva, sink the HMS Milford and capture 3 7th rates.
  11. We have been order to prevent the Royalists and British troops from taking Norfolk. Though we suffer an initial set back due to high quality British troops, we are able to form a battle line and retake the city. We also receive our first 5th rate frigate as a reward.
  12. In this video I explain the challenges of the American Campaign and contrast that with the British Campaign. The viewer will come to understand how each campaign represents a totally different strategic philosophy to win, and why each is therefore challenging in its own right.
  13. Absolutely crazy battle with HMS Fury wrecking havoc on my ships with at least 2 of my ships losing masts. At one point the USS Virginia surrenders (Yikes!), but is not captured and her crew regains their morale! I do manage to sink 1, capture a 6th rate, a 7th rate, 3 merchants and 30,000 in supplies. I then run away... leaving the HMS Fury defiant and fully capable of destroying my entire fleet and trophies.
  14. We help out a group of whalers and capture 4 small British ships.
  15. We are ordered to remove the British from Noddle Island near to Boston. With a deliberate advance, we do just that.
  16. We capture a 7th rate sloop and merchant and call it a day!
  17. This is a really tough fight as you have to escort a merchant to safety. I buy a 6th rate ship (the USS Chippewa) and we fight our way across the map. I manage to de-mast a couple of the British ships and make it to safety. No captures but my ships all earn their second perk.
  18. A quick fight as we capture an unrated cutter and 2 merchants. In so doing we receive 10,000 in supplies.
  19. The newly received merchant Earlston carries two units of Fusiliers to the Battle of Bunker Hill. It is a back and forth affair, but we win the day and when we return to our Harbor, we find the 7th Rate Brig Andrew Doria waiting for us.
  20. Off to a tough start against better trained Royal Navy ships, however, we capture the HMS Alderney a 7th Rate Sloop.
  21. Not listing beta testers in the credits is very uncool.
  22. After having finishing the British Campaign of the final and published version of Ultimate Admiral Age of Sail, I give my thoughts about the game and I am very blunt in such matters. I apologize if some of my impressions are in fact incorrect... but they are my impressions and if you have a different perspective please don't hesitate to comment.
  23. While we lose 1 ship during the battle, we nearly annihilate the enemy fleet sinking 7 and capturing 12. Only 5 manage to escape. Again, a little crazy handling the battle at 2x speed, but it all work out in the end. ... and Nelson survived the campaign!
  24. Another difficult battle for me to handle at 2x speed, nevertheless, we sink 9 ships and capture a 1st rate, 2 5th rates and a 4th rate.
