Is the Spec below suitable please for Naval Action ?
Slim McSauce replied to contact's topic in Support
You can expect 60-80fps medium settings, no trees no shadows. Ultra would fall below 60 which is no good for the eyes. As for an upgrade, you might just look at an entirely new build. Good hardware is much less expensive nowadays. For now the graphics card would be the best route in my opinion An RX 590 from AMD or a GTX 1660 from Nvidia -
The DLC expansion was a surprising one. I logged in right away to see the new paints. If it's something like that by all means let us know at least here on the forums

It's someone's job to do it, surely no one posts on these forums for free.

It already looks odd. At least it would be functional.

Instead of increasing sailing 2x you could just scale the map down by half and achieve a better result.

It's actually 2x too fast. You can see when sailing you're probably hitting anywhere between 22 and 31knts. It should be around 9-15knts at best POS like it is in battle and IRL.

Attack should automatically and immediately begin when two ships touch in the inside circle. This would represent a sort of physical aspect to ships on OW.

That's why you'll get neither, because pirates have history of doing this every chance they get. Pirates will actually end up getting removed, which is fine with me because they were never suppose to be a nation in the first place. Being a pirate would make a great punishment for people who insist on breaking ROE or insist on showing poor sportsmanship. That's where pirates belong, and if they enjoy being a menace so much they can stay there.
-
Alright well it's time to address the pirates having the ability to join both sides of any battle at any time. They're the only nation who are able to once joined on one side, join the other side as well. This is clearly a calculated decision, not done on accident and I think the player in question should receive punishment for exploiting loose game mechanics in poor taste.

Most veteran players don't hang out in the starting zone. They'll post up and down the coasts where the front lines are, where there is plenty of enemy shipping to hit. The only thing going on at our capital is trade and some new players doing light ships missions. It's not a place many high ranked players care to be or to take care of the new players who constantly un-dock and sail around the area that's already surrounded by nothing but friendly AI.
-
It's not either/or. We have AI ships. If this was a pure PVP server there would be no AI at all. Other MMO's, their AI have aggressive behavior. It's interesting and plays into the dynamic. I would argue if you wanted another nations home waters to be vulnerable to attack, go there and destroy the AI defenders surround it.

DLC ships and port bonuses

It is, if it wasn't then we'd still be playing NA:L. If economy really wasn't what was holding everything together. Abandon the economy and you really have no justification for the open world. -
Here's an idea for a new type of mission that I think would work pretty good. Patrol missions where you're order to sail in a general area, around ports and point of interest for a set amount of time or distance. Taking one of these missions, you'll be directed to a port or area of ports marked on the map. You enter the area designated for the mission and a timer starts. The timer goes by either time spent in the zone or distance sailed. To prevent exploit I would probably go by distance. There could be two types of the patrol missions, offensive and defensive. Offensive would send you to an enemy nations front line. Defensive would see you patrol around your own front lines. Rewards would be as follow Offensive- Gold and Silver chests, Combat medals/doubloons/reals Defensive- Missions chests, CMs/doubloons/reals That's my idea.

I said it before, I'll say it now. RvR was never good.

See, even the game knows USSUS and USSC are frigates. @developers

DLC ships and port bonuses
Slim McSauce replied to Spaccavento's topic in Current Feature Improvement Suggestions
The mere fact you can pay for infinitely redeemable ships (up to 4 a day) is pay2win. It's bypassing the economic flow of the game in favor of casual play. It also gets in the way of the MMO aspect because the ships take over almost half the the demand for ships, reducing demand for crafted ships by half, lessening the ship economy...by half. That's not a joke, that's a huge hit to any potential shipping business can have. There's a good reason why smart developers don't sell the "essence" of their games for cash, and stick only to cosmetics and vanity items. -
