  1. If you press #6 sailing the first thing you do, I believe that you turn sailing off? (move to crew away from working on the sails) Try without pressing sailing.
  2. Good to hear, the sooner the better in my opinion.
  3. Hozzah! Lets take the hookers from the frogs!
  4. all they do is change you nationality, all assets must be moved manually to free or neutral town.
  5. I currently have 3 forged papers, with no intention what so ever of changing nation. I have 2 suggestions to make them not so useless (for me and people in the same situation). 1. Make them a saleable and tradable object. This way you can at least use them for something if you do not intend to change nation. It also gives players who have used their papers a chance to change again, if they are not happy with their nation choice. 2. Make them redeemable for combat marks in the admiralty shop.
  6. If reduced or removed, a system needs to be implemented to prevent forever tagging. Forever tagging is when a group of player tag you over and over again after escpaing battles, leading to chases taking hours upon hours.
  7. Great post @AngryPanCake In my opinion, many of these (if not all) would be most welcome to the PVP servers as well.
  8. Damn, @admin is on fire in this thread! Besides the low population, the only real problems that I have with the game right now is that you need to do PVE in order to do PVP and the PVE RNG factor for skill books. Skill books are very very rarely for sale at the moment. I believe that a xp/gold for damage system is not required if the PVP rewards are buffed a lot. Going into PVP is way more dangerous than PVE and should be rewarded accordingly. Maybe there is some way of making your opponent flee from the battle count as a win? Without it being abused like hell of course. If you want some content to be rare (and this is a good thing IMO) there needs to be a better way of obtaining them. As it is now, a rare book can be dropped by a random AI cutter. So your only hope is to get super lucky, no matter how good or bad you are at the game. This only leads to player frustrations.
  9. I did not mean your proposal, I was referring to the current system. sorry for the confusion
  10. The measures taken to prevent alt damage farming is doing more damage than the actual alt damage farming.
  11. Well done devs! Really looking forward to testing this!
  12. The OW travel distance and speed is IMO very balanced. Trips that would take weeks takes hours, Sounds very balanced to me. And this is a MMORPG. Things take time in an MMORPG. When I picked up this game, I expected long travel times at sea, because it was like that during the age of sail.
  13. Neither do I. I use a teak teak surp with gazell (and sometimes other speed mods, but often not) most of the time. Its not super fast but it is fast enough. And the connie is a 4th rate, it should be harder/take more effort to equip and use. And my point is that you can use whatever ship you want, there is no need to max them out before starting to use them IMO.
  14. So you go out pvping in a aga and complain that you sink? I´m just portraying my take on the current grind, what Admin asked us to do...
  15. Should have mentioned that the ships I sail is surprises, renommee´s, Frigates, Essex etc.
  16. I though that the grind was horrendous at first, trying to unlock all the slots on all the ships, and make as much money as possible. Then I had a moment of realization. Why am I grinding? what do I want in this game? I was looking for PVP and grinding the get the best PVP ship possible. Now when I play, I don´t care as much. I take my ship with only 1 or 2 slots unlocked, with only a gazell figurhead and hunt traders. For me this is fun. I have a set amount of money that I strive to have at all times, around 1 million. If I need money I craft some cannons and put them on contract. I can easily replace my ship, should it sink. The grind is what you make of it. This game is a MMORPG and it takes time and effort to be the best, as in all MMORPG´s. People seems to forget this and expect to be the best quickly. A side note is that I don´t participate in RVR, other than in a screening fleet.
  17. I feel for a casual player, in 30 days they will experience one thing, the grind. They will have to deal with the placeholder UI, which in itself is quite a job to learn. I think a 30-day trial is a good idea, when the UI is completed and there is some diversity to missions.
  18. You can almost get them for free on the OW, now that AI ships can be captured
  19. What you described right there is called game development. I agree, it is unfortunate that the loudest voices get the attention of the devs, a negative affect of the early access way of develop a game.
  20. The devs themselves have stated that this is a problem and is currently working on a system to prevent this. Its not made up stuff. This is an early access game, we play the game and provide feedback and ideas to developers. This is what I´m doing. You on the other hand go on the offensive because someone has a different suggestion for a mechanic in an early access game that you like/use.
