  1. name for any sailor would be an problem same as an 3d model ships like victory can carry up to 800+ man no this in a 25vs25 and bye bye makes your hardware. but the names would just repeat itselft too fast to be usefull. shouting orders dont we have some generic sound of the crew allready that we can hear on the youtube videos. but i'm sure you mean something more in teh Silent Hunter direction. point 8 would be not really needed and would take to much time. this game is about sailing not about an tiny small individum of the many who sailed back then. full walkable ships are wanted sure but then there is the performance reason on massiv scale battles. not to mension that it takes alot of time doing the decks right since there are normal not many detailed plans of the inside. just ask here Bava about his french Pantheré or if you cant find him here over at piratesahoy.net. he had to do alot of research to find answers to these questions: is the side cabins that you can see on the sides of sterns walkable or just dekoration is the midle window of the cabin with an uneven number of windows real or just dekoration because the rudershaft goes up there. just to make sure you know what i mean on this one i show you an example: HMB Endeavour 1768 of james cook http://www.piratesahoy.net/attachments/059-png.16792/
  2. depends all on the way its implemented, yet how are these students or middleman suposed to pay an monthly fine of 10$/€ or just the basic onetime 50bucks. and then nothing is free not even the time the devs spend making the game. and this prenium talking is mostly because we are speculating that it will be f2p. yet the devs have not desided wich payment model they choose in the end. so what would be your sugestion for gamelabs to get enough money to pay the bills?
  3. actually most of the servers that get hosted on games are privatly founded dezi servers of some clans. prenium currencly is not so bad if you can trade it with other players ingame. you want on potbs BSN? that would be 100k in game money or 2h our of semi afk fleeting just to anme an example you could also trade on of the future naval action prenium money( if we have one by then) for a shipload of goods like: lignum vitea, sugar(the white gold back then) teak,oak and and and. this way some whale's can keep donating money and some who dont want to still get the ,,real money,, stuff

  6. i'm sorry Lemonater that here are people who got to much money to throw at gamelabs to keep the servers and development up. atleast we are worried about things that would be to much pay2win. kind a like in Guns of Icarus online where you can buy some dye for your clothes or a figurehead for a couple cent each. but for my taste its to early in development to think about account upgrades and stuff.
  7. could be intresting with these tradable maps. but who says we are not checking our modern naviagtion stuff to find out where things are? we are modelling our world after the original after all. so it will be only a short time where these maps would be usefull befor they get outdated by some forum guides and stuff or lets players where you can watch the video and follow the course they used. but i'm for it actually i think i might be able to sail from europe to some random island just out of my memory. if it comes to geography i was unbeaten back then in scool. all i might need is an compas and thats it.
  8. there is something similar in star trek online i think there is an exchange there with something rare ingame that you can trade with other players for real money currency. but i can remember the name didnt played it that long to get into it. i just want something to keep throwing money to suport the upkeep of the servers yet not to be pay2win. ist actually hard to come up with something because well if you dont like the sail colors they are offering you keep the 0815 sails on. even if the devs are former potbs players like us they still have to make profit to pay the bills and i dont want to see it geting taken over by some biger puplisher and get driven against the wall. about prenium ships... what could they be? some old fat assed galeon for long distance hauling? yes it will have an ,,op,, cargo space compared to the others but: fat and slow. so yet no real pay2win. maybe just some ,,skins,, like in trackmania changing the basic corvette to another one from the looks but same speed, gun numbers, rigging. kinda like my sugestion adding another stern to the 74gun HMS Bellona the testers have now so we would have same hull,rigging,gun but another look to it. the only problem will be that some hardcore historians will start bitching like in potbs about the ,,Sultan,,flute or the Oliphant eastindiaman looks historical but isnt. maaaaayyyyybe we could to later some Special ships the are actual still existing museum ships where a certain % of the price will be donated to the museum for restoration and upkeep of the old sailships. vasa,gothborg,lady washington,victoy just to name some.

  10. is also inluded in AC4 but we havent really tested heavy weather that much or atleast we have not seen much of it on the forums or youtube
  11. does gamelabs allready acuired the blueprints of this ship? should be one of the next ships after the HMS Ohio the British lineup would be finished without gapes in it this would be one of the first of the frenh lineup

  14. in sniper elite v2 you have very rough sketches as the map that you can use, and who says we are not using our scool atlas to plot a course like mhm if i want to get from gibraltar to Bermuda i should plot a course of mhm i just pull a number out of my head now: 285°

  18. i hope that when we are dangerusly low in water that we could ,,beach,, the ship and try to fix the holes there without having to worry about sinking completly. and later just pump out the water untill we are safe to get to the next shipyard.

    i actually think that you can read/interpred alot out of the 4 categories. Explorer could not mean that you are just for discovering new island and stuff but also knowledge: naval tactics, trying to get information about the enemy his weakpoints tactics and maybe special things like character of the player how he reacts in diffrent enviorment(outnumbered/heavy weather/damaged ship) that what i kinda think of explorer or better said exploiter in thsi case? Socializer could also mean that he is able to command other players and a high percent could also mean he is mostlikely to be accepted in an comanding role. or that he knows how to fit into a crowd/soc/company/guild Achiever could be how succesfull he his with what he does a high % still does not mean he is the most succesfull of all but in what he is doing. you could argue about it even how importend his position or place in combat is and how importand it is that we wants to take place in Killer just shows how agressiv or defensiv his personality or tactics is imo i kinda hope some of you guys who is better in english than me can make a nicer post about these 4 categories. i think some great minds in this forum could make a nice chart list of diffrent abilitys that could fit under these 4 Types or generally some sort of interactiv list where you can make a cross infront that you could send to somone could be usefull if you can trust someon with an job or if he fits into a other role better kinda like these lawfull caotic stuff from other rpg games. maybe we can greate a version of these test that kinda fits better to naval action or age of sail games in general. because i kinda cant read something directly out of my test result or it makes more questions than answers if i try to bring it into some sort of relation towards 18th century Navalthings atleast i know that i am an man of reason and not really aggressiv kinda surpised about the socialpart didnt expect it to be so high..

    the one thing that i am going to miss from potbs is my ,,fatassed,, La Couronne and that large amount of ship designs that we could chose from. i dont think that we will se such a large quantity of ships in NA soon

    having alot of people only that you could play with or ask stuff now anyone plays for themself not its just pirates of the crossteaming sea i kinda like the quests specially when you where underwater shipwreck near ruddy cove
