  1. Sorry all, I was really drunk last night. Trying to delete the post but can't work out how to do it
  2. Just logged in to the 150MB download. First thoughts... New map. You went for google maps style. Ok fair enough, maybe that is some UNITy issue and you couldn't do period style naval charts in pen and ink. For gods sake though, make the ocean blue again. You are not kidding anyone by thinking that making it grey makes it more antiquated. I don't even want to put to sea in the new map. The OW UI. Worked better out of the way top left. The new OW compass looks absolutely SHIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It was great before, now it's thick cumbersome and in your face. Are you trying to cater for the hard of sight? Supply UBER reading glasses with every purchase of NA. One step forward two steps back. I didn't hang around to see anymore 'improvements'.
  3. Ah thank you. I am thinking of writing a review on Steam for this game. Never done a steam review. Just need to get round to it, just like I need to get round to creating a new player guide PDF which I'd like to post a link to within the review. Time will tell. I'm a bit long in the tooth, well what's left of them so I am fairly attuned to BS in the game review world. My benchmark for a decent honest review is always PC gamer magazine and rockpapershotgun. No one is infallible and sometimes there are agendas and as you said at the end of the day it's all down to personal perception at the front end. I remember playing and loving POTBS and was shocked at the terrible review in PC gamer at the time. All the gameplay shots were in zoomed out view of the battles which looked truly shit when the real drama was at deck lvl as if you WERE the captain of the ship. The person who'd did that review imo probably didn't really have much interest in an age of sail game or just didn't have time to do a proper review due to deadlines or as the 1 page review suggested the publisher itself just didn't have enough 'clout' with the magazine. Who knows. As for fanboy spam hate type, from a personal point of view I find that all quite hilarious. They just make themselves look like nasty little idiots, which of course they are. If I fancy a good chuckle then the youtube comments section under pretty much any video is only a click away. Things could get really interesting soon when it should be possible with VR gloves and sensor helmets to actually reach in to your computer and give someone a real smack in the mouth Can't wait.
  4. Yup there may be something amiss with your rig setup. I was getting getting 24fps with an old AMD 6990. and an intel erm i7 errr well it's 5 years old I know that. Just before xmas I upgraded to an MSI GTX1070 Gaming X 8mb just to play this game. Now I get 60-75fps in battles and open world. Lowest it has gone was 45-fps in 25v25 screening battle and even then only when in a huge Mongolian CF with some 15 other ships. So card wise, I am very pleased with my purchase. Odd thing is all my total war games now have a terrible FPS stuttering lag spikes to do with audio now. So that could be an issue with driver version no or old installs not completley removed. I've Googled umpteen so called fixes and implemented them and as yet no solution. No biggie at the moment as all I play is naval action Incidentally, do you play totalwar games and is that running fine on 1080s? Would love to know what driver version you have if so.
  5. It seems to me that what is broken is the steam review system itself. People shouldn't be able to delete comments to their Steam review. Print and be damned as the saying goes. Ability to hide those comments or delete them on your browser only. fine. It saddens me, as I absolutely love this game that the negative reviews are the most prominent being much larger taking up 4/5ths of my steam window while the more recent positive reviews are relegated to a small side bar on the left. It should be one column by date order of review most recent at the top. I thought it used to be that way. Perhaps some gremlins have changed my steam layout preferences... dunno will have to check. Keep up the great work. This truly is the best game I have ever played. The reviews that matter are the professional game press reviews. In the meantime before release let's hope that some of them revisit the game to see how it's coming along and widen the awareness to people like me who only stumbled across this game from an article at rockpapershotgun.
