  1. Agreed with the rest of your post, but you seemed to have missed two very prominent Union generals, not political, who were also charged with imbibing quite heavily. Generals Grant and Sherman. And yes there are arguments on both sides for and against these two gentlemen.
  2. Yes. I'm sadly aware. I posted more in jest and tongue in cheek.
  3. Mine wasn't in the list. I'd like to see this one: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/USS_Kearsarge_(1861)

I haven't seen any miners in this game yet. (okay, I'll get my hat.)
  5. Good to hear from you @T1ckL35. Had me slightly concerned you might have become a statistic. Looking forward to your refining work.
  6. If the most recent book I have read on the Union Army of the Potomac, "Lincoln's Lieutenants", by Stephen Sears, it appears that a goodly number of Union commanders were prone to hiding in a bottle behind the lines.
  7. If you detached from existing brigades all you need to do to get them back into their original organization is select the skirmishers, then in the HUD, select the icon that sez, return to unit. (Can't think of it exactly. Someone will be along shortly to provide the right terminology.)
  8. So, excuse me for dragging this one up from the depths ... But, T1ckL35, where'd ya go? What news?
  9. Attrition was a curse to both militaries, but more so for the South. With its limited resources, especially in manpower, every loss of a great leader added to the eventuality. Having read Douglass Southall Freeman's "Lee's Lieutenants", and comparing Stephen W. Sears' "Lincoln's Lieutenants", there appears to be a greater loss of high command positions with the South.
  10. Sadly, I barely missed her when she stopped in Baltimore. I drove by her docking next to the Constellation in the inner harbor one night, but didn't stop to get up close and personal with the Lady. She's graceful and beautiful. Viva L'Hermione
  11. The Civil War Trust organization has started a program called "Generations". It's an effort now that has been running for two years, that is meant to teach children (and some adults,) about the history of the American Civil War. Here is the most recent email I received regarding two upcoming events for September.
  12. Unless I'm messing something up, (which is entirely possible,) this statement is true. I cannot get the mod file to work any longer with the 1.X release of the game.
  13. It's only because I'm such a friendly guy!
  14. I'm not sure wagons are refillable at these depots. It would be nice if the could be refilled.
  15. Ah yes! The first 'river'!!! Such is the beauty of these maps, while fairly similar to the real area in layout & terrain, they are light years away from being wholly accurate. That first 'river' is called Powhite Creek, (pronounced P0-Hite), and in real life it isn't any more than a 3 foot wide, 1 foot deep obstacle, if that. True it is in a valley bottom, But it is nothing of the monster it's depicted as on the game map. Same goes for Boatswain Creek at the foot of the Union defenses. Powhite Creek Boatswain Creek
  16. Congrats General Civsully1! I assume this is the AAR report ... I'm hoping you didn't go into Antietam with 12,587 men.
  17. I just finished Antietam as CSA, beat the blue bellies finally, they are dropping Harpers ferries, to the tune of 11k. The best weapon my boys were using was the Lorenz, basically scattered throughout 4 corps most are outfitted with early model Springfields.
  18. As I've said before, I don't name my units, I don't want them thinking I care for them while I send them into the grinder for hamburger.
  19. @Nick Thomadis and Developers I have been on my current Confederate Campaign now since the latest release and upgrades. Up to this time I have not been paying much attention to the AARs generated by the game, but I have been this series. I have found a few things to comment on: Please make the AARs consistent. In the top half of the reports you have the information listed as Infantry, Cavalry, then Artillery. In the Losses half of the AAR you list the results as Infantry, Artillery, Cavalry, then Missing. Please make either of the two reports list the units in a consistent manner either way your choice but I ask that one report match the layout of the other. (Hope you understand what I mean.) Also of great concern, I'm noticing an inconsistency of information on these reports. When listing Artillery, I'm assuming the number in parentheses are the number of men assigned to the number of guns. In many cases I get guns listed but no men. And in my most recent AAR I had men listed but no guns. Could you please spend some time on this and correct these issues? Thanks.
