Well, full wipe is really the only way to go about this. My only question is this: Why bother? After the game “releases” you won’t see any difference. You might get 1532 new purchases of the game (some will be alts), you will get 1 out of 10 new players retention( being optimistic here) and you’ll get some players coming back to check out the “finished product”. Those will also quit because if the game wasn’t good enough before it sure isn’t any better now. So basically will be back to where we are now but with less players than now because who the hell wants to grind again for stuff they already had before?? The game will consist of streamers, hardcore players ( crazy might be the correct description at this point) and the poor noob that bought the game because he just watched Master & Commander with Russel Crowe. What number of active logins is required to keep the servers on is really the only thing I don’t know and i’m Curious about

Shipbuilding port
Simon Cadete replied to Simon Cadete's question in Feature proposals and Gameplay Help Q&A
Nobody cares... -
In the pve server is savannah in the east coast one of the ports where you get a 5% chance to build exceptional ships? If not, what’s the closest port for me to do that. My nation in the server is United States

Forthcoming patch info
Simon Cadete replied to admin's topic in News Announcements & Important discussions
The devs seemed to have gone completely off track their original plans. The game was a lot better 2 years ago. Crafting has become useless and should just be removed and rely only on redeemable ships to play. My only question now is this: Is this new direction the game is taking, being done on purpose or just kinda making things up as they go along? [moderated] I honestly don’t think they are dumb and it is the first reason but you never know. -
I know this might be off topic but do we realky need knowledge slots and luck with rng loot to gain books? How about ship quality determines # of slots and completing challenges gives you skills to use in those slots. Instead of just grinding, you have to complete challenges. For example, take out 10 masts and you get 1.5% more accuracy. Take out the last level of the challenge, let’s say 100 masts and you get 15% accuracy to use in a slot. That way it doesn’t fell like a job to get books but more fun and less repetitive. Skill should be more important than doing a bunch of pve to unlock slots and being lucky getting the good books

I would like to take some time and also tip my hat to the developers because they are the best, the most awesome amazing people, they’re beautiful and everything that they do is perfect. There, all of you fanboys had an orgasm already??!! Now to serious matters. If you’re going to do a full wipe don’t half ass it. Books gotta go too. They are what make the difference in pvp besides huge skill difference. Don’t be afraid to lose the rest of the little population we still have and stand by your convictions. Wipe it all. We’ll be back in this situation a month later anyway.

LGV Refit
Simon Cadete replied to Gregory Rainsborough's topic in Current Feature Improvement Suggestions
You can only unlock 3 knowledge slots. The last 2 will be grayed out. I have done it, that’s how I know. Most people know that anyway. Don’t know why this is even a discussion. Last thing: All ships should have 5 slots -
Are there any plans of any shape or form for a single player mode with some kind of story mode and character development using this games mechanics and gameplay?
-
Not that I disagree with the idea of fighting in storms or get damage in our ship in ow if we we’re sailing in one but to include things like that, is just giving more excuses for people to not pvp.
-
If people only do pve because that’s what they like and have time constraints and a million other reasons then I ask: why be in the pvp server? i know better than most the pain it is to find pvp in the us prime time. It’s been an issue for a couple years now so it’s not just because of patch a, b or c. It’s in the mentality of the players that play in that nation and then spreads to new players. I personally miss the days of flags and action and being in a full team speak and all the craziness but I fear those days are gone and will never come back

So many heroes that talk shit about the pve server and while on the pvp server all they do is stay in the protected zone doing pve. There is the occasional pvp with a 22 vs 1 battle with the coast guard

Solution to keep A global server ?
Simon Cadete replied to Celtiberofrog's topic in Current Feature Improvement Suggestions
I don’t really remember people complaining about the game as much as now when it had twice the bugs but also twice ( more than that) population. I agree with Christendom. More content needed to attract and retain more players. The population this game has is a joke and not sustainable. The longer people ignore that, the less chances this game has to come back to life -
Le Requin is ruining the game for me!
Simon Cadete replied to Kilo60's topic in Current Feature Improvement Suggestions
They need to make the requiem a 5th rate to change all the bonuses, make the patrol area battles joinable for the side with less br only and double the rewards and loot quality in the areas outside capitals and protected areas so these morons that keep getting killed in front of their capital just go somewhere else. Battles used to be more fun, diverse and memorable. Now it’s either Hercules hugging a ships side and sinking ships 3 rates or bigger with no problem (specially if it’s more than 1), the push into the wind and board requiem that will run away every time the other captain is not a moron and everything else with the first two types of battle being over 70% of the battles in NA -

It was in a post related to the merger of servers and who should merge into which server and admin posted that even though more copies were sold into North America, the majority of active players were in Europe. Also uts not the World Cup or summer or it rained yesterday or some other ridiculous excuse. Game was great when it came out. It was refreshing. That was 3 years ago!!! Now it’s a bunch 1 step forward 2 steps back kinda deal and nothing Substantial has been added

The game has the low numbers it has because of the lack of new good meaningful content. As for the impact of the global server had it’s easy to understand! None!! Most people from global as well from eu have quit. You might get an extra 28 people on at night because of it which gives the super hardcore players that only get kills on American morons that still don’t know how to manual sail something to do I ‘m actually gonna agree with you and hope that they split the servers again so I can play with better ping again. Also, the developers should treat North American players better since more copies of the game were bought in North America than in Europe

RvR - Bringing back a better Flag
Simon Cadete replied to Teutonic's topic in Current Feature Improvement Suggestions
I agree with some things you’ve said but to keep using the old excuse ( which you are not the first or the last to use) that US players are new players and that is why they get farmed is just not right. A lot of experienced players in the US that get killed a lot have been playing the game forever. Some of them even from pvp2. US players in pvp 2 and then in global just weren’t very good for a lot of reasons. That tradition ( let’s call it that) either came to this server with the merge or it might have been here as well. The people that hunt the US coast do it because that is where most people are at night time and it is easier to get kills. They keep doing the stupid coast guard thing, trying to avenge one guy by ganking another with 20 guys. In all honesty in over 2 years I haven’t seen any improvements and it’s not about to change now. Like one famous philosopher once said: “You can’t fix stupid” -
