  1. ...just want to add: you are so true for EVE !!! Even when we speak about NA But i fear the vision of the Devs is to create an EVE in carribean waters...but falling short of everything EVE has besides non consensual combat/ganking

  3. I think, what he is meaning that there are some suggestions floating around to give access to Port Bonus to ALL without taking the big clans something away ! To the contrary, they also would benefit from it Win -Win Situation...check this out:
  4. Like the highlighted section the most +1 In my view, the attacking side has to WORK to gain control of the region, slowly advancing through the regional port ! Historical comparison: In WW2 the Allies couldnt also just push through to Berlin or, better example, Tokyo...they had to make those "island hopping"

Come on @Hethwill, you are a reasonable man and therefore you know like everyone else that only the HARDCORE Players are communicating in forums in general ! ...and this is even more true in NA ! You will find very seldom someone here with less than 1.000 Hours under his belt...and if so, they are here for asking questions...and NOT, to make any suggestions for a better game... So we all know that the "community" isnt the playerbase and noone knows what the average joe wants from NA ! ...but my educated guess is, he doesnt want to have competitive crafting (and other things) only in the hands of a few elite clans ! I think, we both can agree on this Therefore we should try to find SOLUTIONS which fit both parts of the PLAYERBASE (!!!), Elite Clans and smaller Clans/Solo/casual Players, instead of accusing each other
  6. Agree +1 I never got that all-time argument because alts would do this or that, so gaming rules has to get changed accordingly ! I never had an alt nor will i ever have one, but i dont see all those problems many are referring too... maybe because for lack of knowledge or because i dont care But for what i care, are badly designend rules which hurts EVERYONE, especially "normal" Players who dont care for RvR, who just want to play the game relaxed

Agree +1 Your point was one of the main reasons i developed my suggestion: It cant be that a clan stands over the whole nation, e.g. its more worthy The game is marketed to have major historic nations, which rules the sea and, most important, NATIONS battle each other...now its more that clans are competing and sometimes even inside one nation ! This has to get stopped, by one way or the other My above made suggestion offers a nice solution to get both: strong clans which dont compete each other and strong nations as a whole
  8. Thank you for your support mate I could live with your suggestion but i may ask whether my original idea with Dubloons, reals AND materials wouldnt suit the needs of clans better... ??
  9. To your first point, a tax up to 100% for EVERY ship built by non Clanmembers (Friendlisters), sorry, i fail to see how this shouldnt contribute more than enough for the owning clan ?? Think about hundreds of ships would be built there over time ! This would be a massive influx, and will turn out to be a good business for the owning clan, maybe overtime even surpassing the initial investment... To your second point, can you pls elaborate how this should work out?

Agree absolutely +1 ...regarding the drama which is evolving around much lesser important issues on a daily basis in NA, gives th current system too much power to the hand of single individuals...period My or a similar system on the other hand, takes away personalities involved and replace this with an automated system But thy for your answer
  11. Hi Guys, seriously cant understand you anymore: If someone comes out with a big headline, everyone is taking part in the discussion... But if another one, me in this case, comes out with a probable solution for this problem (and yeah, it IS a problem), only few are participating I mean THIS thread a few posts below this one:
  12. ...and i have to agree with you in this point...atleast in theory I am just desperatly trying to find a BALANCE between the interests of Big Clans on one hand and smaller Clans/Solo/fresh Players on the other hand... And you know, nothing gets decided in this game against the interests of big clans ! So to have atleast a chance for a change, you have to have the big clans on your side... ...and therefore i think, if one Clan conquered the best Port, maxed it out and defended it against all odds, yeah, they might have the right to demand what they think...whether Players are ready to pay this just to get a 55 Point PB Ship... or move to the next rivalry clan, who have a much lower tax...well thats everyones own decision But i agree again: a buy-in like you proposed would be a good alternative but big clans could argue that either this BUY-IN would be too low against their combined effort or if it would fit their effort, it would be too expensive and nobody would buy it or, even worse, call them greedy in nation chat and put so even more salt into the ocean My system wouldnt hurt one time so badly, but would garantue the owners of the Port a CONSTANT influx to support them ! But i could live with both solutions ! Everything is better than now...i just think, my system could be introduced without much coding needed ( @admin, @Ink ???) because tax system of clan owned Ports is already in place
  13. Mate, nobody says it has to be a 100% tax ! Like it is now, Clans can already set up a tax from 10 - 100% of all what is traded in this specific port...but who would trade in a Port which Tax is set up to 100% ? Like it is in everything in this game, also the Tax will be part of the overall competition and People will build their Ships in Port with lesser taxes...if only one Clan owns the best PB in a nation, it is their right to set up a Tax they think, they deserve...whether people will pay that Tax or move to another, cheaper, Port is then part of the business... But cant see why this would be contradictive to the whole idea? The situation we have now is much worser for the majority of Players
  14. Ah sorry, overlooked your statement in the first place... Yeah, you are right, that isnt fair ! (But as a sidenote, taking the Clan Perspective: it could be that a Player got removed from Clan just BECAUSE he didnt took part in building the Port Infrastructure, he just wanted to get the benefits and letting others do the work ! In this case, removing him and taking away his privileges would be correct ) But atleast, if this system would get introduced, you atleast would get your ability back to craft the same ships like before PLUS your investment in a fully upgraded shipyard wouldnt be lost like it is now PLUS last but not least, your allocated mats will not rotting anymore senseless in this mentionend port, because you again have use for it In my view, a big step forward to the current situation, where one would lose everything...for whatever reason

I also readed this, but understood it the way, that this goes only for Ex-Clanmembers...and not outsiders being removed from the friends list...but dont know ? ...and there we already have the answer Nevertheless, in the current system, People are dependant on the mercy of big clans getting on their friend list on one hand...and on the other hand, Clans dont know how much People or Clans on their Friend List helped with the actual Port Infrastructure Following my system, the whole process gets automated and everyone who wants to build his ships there, have to pay the tax...pretty simple and no talking and begging needed
  16. Exactly, thank your for your reply, @rediii I just mentionend HAVOC and you because everyone knows you and your clan stands exemplary for most big Clans... Ofc big Clans have other goals than "holding the hands" of newcomers and thats fine ...but exactly for that reason, we need, in my view, a balance between the interests of big PB orientated clans and solo/fresh/new players and small clans on the other hand Following my suggestion, everyone of "your" nation, willing to pay "your" tax (again just taking "you" as an example), could craft ships in Ports defended and conquered by you, giving your clan a nice influx of income...and getting players, who wont find a place in the big competetive clans, atleast the option to craft competitive ships...and doing so, being a nice and welcome addition to their nation and in RvR

One argument not mentionend until this point in the discussion, just stroke my mind: If a change would come like suggested, ALL players in one nation would have again an incentive to take part in Port Battles eg. Screening because they want to defend their "own" Port, because they would loose all their mats already allocated in this Port and their upgraded Shipyard...same like the attacked Clan ! This means, NATION and Clans would get reunitated Nowadays, they take Part in Screening only because of national pride, but they risk either competitive ships bought from big clans for insane pricing or arent competitive in Screening because they take Part in non competitive Ships at all... ---> This would be again like it was 2 or 3 years ago when Ports had their distinctive advantages and the whole nation tried everything to defend the precious ones ! It was a NATIONAL task to defend and conquer those important regions...not just a task for a single clan... ...changed initial post accordingly

Dont think that HAVOC f.e. had ever took a new Player (nothing against @rediii and other big clan leaders, to the contrary ), but they usually want "proofed" players and dont have the time (and will) to learn a Player with few weeks under his belt the game, answering his millions of questions and see them vanish after few months...but dont let us loose in small details mate when we both agree about the overall situation and that my idea would, hopefully, change the situation for a huge part of the playerbase to the better ...and this, most important, without taking away anything from big clans and opening no loophole ! To the contrary, big clans can get a new sort of income, helping them with their war efforts in a reasonable manner
  19. Correct, but nowadays he has already the monopol and clans were competing even inside one nation to get their hands on those ports... I fully understand your point tbh, but in my view this shouldnt be a major concern atm...the much bigger concerns are that small clans/solo and new players are dependent about big clans, selling what "falls from the table" and clan didnt need any more...usually you will never see a Golden Ship in Sale with Port Bonusses
  20. @Hethwill, first of all, dont mistake community with playerbase Community are the usual forumites who are mostly organized in big clans...ofc for them, this isnt a situation for which they care much ! Understandable from their perspective, everything is fine... But noone knows what the Playerbase is thinking about that they cant build competitive ships without being forced to enter a big clan ! Noone knows, but my educated guess is that the playerbase is much larger than the participants of this forum... ...and dont forget that the big clans dont take everyone, you have to be "famous" to some degree to get an invitation... But even if they dont have to be "famous", i think we can agree that newer players never get a chance to enter the big clans and this way, they are excluded from a major part of the game: CRAFTING

Thank you for your response and your support of my idea I also thought about your mentionend possible issue " if a nation has only one "good port" everyone will build his ships there even If this port has 100% tax and next best port has 0 or 10%" and came to the conclusions, that all big Clans want to have their OWN port, for which they can take care and which they want to prosper... Additionally, the big clans will always compete with each other to have the better Port... What might be, that the big clans will compete eventually for a lower tax with each other, to get a constant influx
  22. The thing is, many solo players or small clans want to build their OWN ships, being part of all ! I for myself play this game since over 3 years and big part of my gaming was always gather all resources and play the crafting lottery, hoping that something fine comes out... Deliver my resources just to any clan member, like you suggested, doesnt feel the same, because you feel like a beggar On the other hand, begging to get on the friendly list (and stay there) isnt also what i want...AND in this case, you ARE a beggar, because your contribution to the port is unknown
  23. ...agree on the second part of your statement ! The size of the NPC Fleets has to get drastically reduced then On the other hand, noone who comes new to the game, understands that all those enemy ships sailing just past you without taking any notice !! This looks just plain wrong

Guys, please...even when most of the forum writers are part of more of the bigger clans, give small clans and especially solo players some love You cant complain on one hand that playerbase is decreasing again and reject on the other hand good ideas to give the latter part of the playerbase a possibility to be competotive !! Nowhere is it written and never was it in the past 3 years that solo players had a distinctive ingame built disadvanatge like it is since the introduction of Port Bonusses...their life was hard enough without the help pf comrades on open seas... ...but now, it is worse than ever because of the Port Bonusses !! With my above made suggestion, we could level the basic playing field again WITHOUT taking something away from the big clans So i urge you for support of the idea...thanks !! P.S.: think of all of those who never come to the forums and just disappear from the game out of frustration

Yeah...but this doesnt prevent a Clan leader to remove a small clan or Solo Players from "his" list --- if something happened between them or for any other reason ...even when this specific clan or Solo Player helped massively during the Port Build Up ! Noone can prevent Clan leaders to remove People from this List Following my Idea, the whole process gets automated without the danger of personal things could happen and the "work" someone outside the clan has to do for using the Ports Infrastructure, is measurable for both sides
