  1. Really? You should visit the Star Citizen forums. Be warned, wear a thick skin!
  2. The Broken Drum. And the bouncer has to be a troll.
  3. THANK YOU! The bottom of the sea must look like this after I've had a battle.
  4. Snipers with muskets? Isn't that... like... an Oxymoron? It's like snipers with paintball, you have to guess where your bullets will land.
  5. I'm looking forward to night battles in bad weather. Seeing the horizon light up for an instant of lightning, showing where your enemies are. Following by flashes of cannon-fire and the screaming of dying men.... Can't wait!
  6. Wow, great. I loved SH3, as well. Played it for hours. Played 4 very little, I assumed it was because I had less time though, not a reflection on the game. Didn't play SH5 at all.
  7. I was wondering if there's going to be an element of crew management in the game. I was wondering if we'd be involved in setting watch periods, and if crew fatigue would affect ship performance. Silent Hunter had an interesting crew management system.
  8. Hmm. I wonder how Cutting out expeditions would work. It'd feel a bit unfair to boot up the game to discover your ship had been stolen from under you.
  9. I'd earlier suggested a captains cabin be the game menu. Kinda like the Office is in Silent hunter. Or the bunker menu in Metro 2033.
  10. Ironically, this is exactly what I don't want. If this is case, why not include Mobile support, so I can que up instruction so I can "play" from my Ipad. No, I'd rather the sailing be an element of game-play. Even if it's nothing more than dodging storms.
  11. Sounds great. The last think we need is feature creep that doesn't actually add anything to game-play. What I would suggest is adding in a "captain cabin". Either in 2D or 3D (if there's enough time) to allow the player to look at charts, review "news" check known prices of goods, see his reputation level, or his progress in "navel exams". Hell, this could double up as a menu screen I guess. Kinda like the bunker menu in Metro 2033. Hmm... I see where you're coming from, concerned about exploitation. However I really like the "cinematic" feel that a 3rd person cam offers. I's good fun to see that damage to your ship after a battle. Like Batman in Arkahm Asylum a scared and battered ship is almost a character itself. I'd go perhaps a midge further that your suggestion and say no more that +- 50% higher than the top of your mast.
  12. I like the idea. Sitting at my writing desk, looking out the aft windows at the port of London, while my ship takes on provisions...... Makes me want to reinstall Gloriana again
