  1. I agree with akg here, there should be no need for tunig as a special reward for a PvE challenge should not be there in the first place on a PvP server. If people on the PvP servers still want to play this gamemode one could include it but without any materialistic reward (except a bit of gold and XP similar to missions). A leaderboard should be enough motivation for those who want their name up there. I mean, in the end the principle and appeal of the PvE challenges (e.g. throwing an endless stream of AI enemies against a player) is not much different than arcade games like say, Tower defense.
  2. No one is "forcing" anyone to participate in these events. I am not saying we should abandon all PvE elements from PvP servers. But the thought that you can get special and rare rewards from fighting AI only without any other players involved just defeats the whole idea of a PvP server.
  3. PvP challenge sounds fun but we will have to see how 3 each day will affect the regular open word PvP. And I am not sure if there should be PvE events on PvP servers (I guess these challenges apply to both PvP and PvE servers?). Because I do not think that rewarding players for playing with nothing but AI ships is something for a PvP server.
  4. Indeed. I seriously hope you will take appropriate steps so we will see less grinding (and less need to do so forced by game machanics) and thus more PvP in the future. Which is also the reason I can not endorse the Admirality shop concept. It will continue the trend that imo is tearing apart the player base in favour of the "hardcore gamers/grinders" and big clans while the casuals are left behind resulting in an overall dwindling number of players in total. That said, looking forward to land battles and the challenges sound like a good idea.
  5. I have to say that I generally like the idea of weighting up pros and cons for shipbuilding and having a better accessibility to golden/player made ships BUT (and this is a very big but!): Like others stated before imo anyone should have the chance to craft any ships in the game. Why? For one casual players will not be able to compete and ^this. If you make playing the game a grinding war instead of a war fought by ships count me out! ^this. There has to be some kind of compensation! One last thing. I get why you want to get rid of green, blue and purple ships but I dont get why you would want to do the same thing to upgrades. IMO it makes perfect sense to have increments in upgrades and it is not like they are not being used. So all in all, not happy about this.
  6. Think about it: With all the PvP limited to low-spec ships with low customisation possible (1-2 upgrades), the super expensive exceptionals will find themselves permanently tied to the docks as trophies to brag about (or used for risk-free ganking). Where is the gain? This actually looks like a sound idea! Simple but pretty effective.
  7. Like I wrote before this would have a very noticable negative impact on PvP. Apart from the grind, there is a fine line in ship pricing for PvP: They should be high enough that you can not just through them away carelessly while being low enough that you can afford loosing one here and there. And IMO the current prices work well in this regard. Ship prices in the range of 10 millions is just crazy. Nobody will use such a ship if he is not more than sure to dominate a fight. If the alternative is deleting the other quality types so be it. At least it will not hurt PvP.
  8. I can see your point but if you think about the effects for PvP this is not a good idea. With such rare exceptional ships Players will only operate in fleets that attack for 100% risk-free ganking of inferior ships or fleets and run from everything else. Currently there are Players that will not run from an even fight (or even one with the Odds against them) and rather sink some of the attacking ships even tough they are likely loosing their ship themselves. You will not see the latter when a ship is super special and costs an arm and a leg ...
