  1. Ya it's a fairly simple game in its current state. The player doesn't have much control over the details like say Sid Meier's Gettysburg or Sid Meier's Antietam or Scourge of War.
  2. The only stat that should be different between units of the same type should be experience levels in my opinion. If that is even in the game. It's not historically correct to make broad generalizations about Federal and Confederate troops.
  3. I'm interested to read what features from the classic Sid Meier's Gettysburg everyone would like to see in Ultimate General: Gettysburg. Here's a review of Sid Meier's Gettysburg from Giant Bomb. http://www.giantbomb.com/sid-meiers-gettysburg/3030-12709/
  4. I can't help but think that the current UI is designed for an iPad. What's up with that? I hope it's just a placeholder. That's a big no no for a PC game.
  5. I don't think the game should give the Federals and Confederates different stats. The thing that should matter is human intelligence in regards to tactics not stats.
  6. I agree it's a great start. There's a lot of work yet to do though.
  7. I don't even know how to use my skirmishers and cavalry. How do they differ from other units? The game doesn't say.
  8. You really got to go Darth. Make it like a week long trip with any other devs and get a good guide. The 150th anniversary was last summer and it was a big event. Here's the DVD and Blu-ray of it. http://www.gettysburgreenactment.com/reenactors/150th-dvd/
  9. When you click "Fight New Battle" you get a screen with a short description of each side. I don't have a degree in history, but I am a history ners and those descriptions don't sound right to me. I hope the developers hire a real civil war historian to help with the game. Also for english grammar.
  10. That would be a cool option to have.
  11. Definitely agree with your post. There really needs to either be a tutorial mission (like maybe on the approach to Gettysburg) or a tutorial mode that can be turned on. And ya, the game devs need to hire a US Civil War historian to help with the game.
  12. You know what would be cool. A top down view that shows you the units by their icons. Rome 2 tried this, but it wasn't very useful in their battles because they go so fast.
  13. Ya after I get there, but if I want to know ahead of time then I have to guess.
  14. Why not just make ammo an in game option? That would please everyone.
  15. Why isn't there a button on the screen for this? Right click is far better than middle mouse click to begin with.
  16. I'd like to know if the devs have been to Gettysburg?
  17. I think there should be a map mode that shows the different cover types and their effects. Because right now I'm just guessing.
  18. If they're all created already then just give us an in game option to choose what style we want to use.
  19. The game should definitely have speed options. I think Sid Meier's Gettysburg had it.
  20. On the website there are game pictures of the smoke effects. I will post one below. These smoke effects look way better than anything I've seen in game. Can someone explain this? Also I think we should be able to select what flag types/UI style we want because I favor the one shown below.
  21. I like your surrender option.
  22. Very good points. I think that all the commands should be available to the player on the screen in a convenient location. Right now it feels like a tablet UI. Like Total War Rome 2's.
