  1. If I recall correctly 1 swede MB and 1 swede BUC were DC'd and sunk prior to the crash. One could argue that if they kept sailing, you would not of won on points. Just food for thought.
  2. We did it first try. Just need Lord of The Screeners to be there.
  3. Nothing sells a game quicker than it crashing during a major battle with more than average viewers. RIP
  4. To help protect against what Prussia is doing. Hiding behind US timers but still attacking during EU times.
  5. I like this idea kinda. But I think each clan needs like 1 port timer that is locked and will never change. Aka home base. clan x flips a port at a 1700. Loses. One of their ports randomly gets changed to a 1700 timer for a CD period. Except their home port. This will put a stop to troll flips and multi flips without recourse.
  6. I mean this idea is ok. I like the idea of locking timers for x amount of time. But the cool down on ports isn’t really a combined issue. IRL if a fleet lost a fight or campaign it would be months of not years before they would recover and attack. In NA it’s 24 hours. I’d say bumping that to 3 or 5 days isn’t too crazy. I like the idea of putting a cool down on timer changes and opening ports. Change a timer and it can’t be changed for x amount of days. Same with opening and closing.
  7. regardless of the prussian / GB drama, port cooldowns need to be increased. I remember 1 week was too long and admin changed them to 1 day "temporarily" to see what happens. We'll it's been a while and being attacked every other day is a pain in the ass. I feel like 3-5 day compromise would be fine. Trying and failing already has the punishment of precious doubloons down the drain. go attack another port in the meantime.
  8. can we make a petition to games labs and have them remove pit's ability to make forum posts until he stops smoking crack?
  9. Again you fail to see the point in my thread, but that's ok. It is you after all. Your phrasing above amuses me. Folks can call me many things, some true, but an inexperienced RVR captain definitely isn't one of them. Besides, I know you just got back from a couple month hiatus after 7up dissolved. Are you an example of a "permanent" RVR player? Do permanent RVR players take a couple months off and then run back to Russia and change their in game names to hide? There's also PVP and patrol zone ganking in numbers. I pvp. What do yo do? I'm bored of you Graf. You're nothing now. Move along.
  10. Please re-read the title of my post. Risk vs Reward. I don’t do any sort of PVE, outside of occasionally flipping a port. I don’t even do epics. I’ve got enough dubs and reals through PVP to replace a few 1st rates, but I primarily just throw everything in the clan bank and not worry about it. I don’t hunt traders. I don’t grind slots. I haven’t even redeemed a Christian yet. The point I’m trying to bring up is what RVR has pretty much grounded to a halt due to the cost investment in sending in line ships. This isn’t a problem just symptomatic of night flippers. When you defend a port and sink as many ships as we did, the payout should at least give you some of your investment in doubloons back. As it stood in the battle the other day, we didn’t even clear enough to craft a 1st rate. This system sucks and it needs to be changed. So I have some suggestions below. 1 - Convert marks into dubs pathway. 2 - Reduce BR or cap ship rates on a number or ports to encourage smaller ships. You really shouldn’t bring 1sts or 2nds to every battle anyway. 3 - reduce doubloons costs for lineships or increase payouts. 4 - do away with doubloons in crafting. 5 - paint chests
  11. Never thought I’d actually miss PVP marks...but I do.
  12. As usual graffy duck misses the point of a post and immediately turns to insults and biased comments. Same people, same ideas. We use timers to protect our port and it opens up during a time frame when we can protect it with players. Just like every clan does. Is this mechanics abuse? We’d fight 7up but you guys don’t exist anymore. Now you’re just “some guy” back in Russia. As you recall, Jag’s is the reason for our occupation of KW. Where is he now? I miss the dude. Does anyone still actually need Victory marks? What a useless mechanic.
  13. Frankly this is what pirates should be doing, there's no honor among thieves. That said, Mo's a piece of shit and his nazi toxicity fetish needs to be gone from this game. Hot pirate on pirate action - good Nazis - bad bring back outlaw battles plz
  14. Umm Deltonos, Juanjo, Jorge Durruti and Anson have at least been around since I started. Regardess, this wasn’t a chest beating post.
  15. Or should do, if you want to fight the battle properly.
  16. So we had a little Fracas over at Key West this week vs Spain and I've been a little salty about the amount of doubloons received at the end. 2 Vics sunk 3 Bucs 1 Bellona 1 Wasa 1 Belle Poule + 1 MB Total amount of dubs collected off the sunken ships was around 7000-8000. I think the highest amount received from the battle screen was around 200. Not even enough doubloons to replace 1 of the 1st rates that were risked to successfully defend the port. And we were lucky enough to be able to loot these ships. Most fights you are not given the flow of battle. Spain received nothing for their effort. ---- Rewards seem a bit abysmal no? We could probably get more doubloons capping AI trader snows in the span of an hour or 2. What incentive does Spain have to do a repeat attack? Sure we get to keep the port, but it only pays for itself 50% of the time if we're lucky. What would the alternative be? Dropping the port, not giving a shit about PBs and just sinking AI traders? Overall there's been far less deep water PBs since the doubloons patch. I see why. To be frank, this system sucks. At the very least we need to bring back chests with paints and random ship notes. Edit - more of a rant post than a suggestion, but whatever.
  17. In the PB for KW a couple evenings ago Spain tried to play the kite game with us. We delayed and even let them have 2 circles while our big ships caught up and sunk most of their fleet. We also use similar tactics against the US and GB fleets when they attack our ports. The 3 circle system ticks up points far too quickly sometimes. Values of ships sunk relative to their BR needs to also be re-evaluated. Sinking a MB should not be the same points as sinking an ocean.
  18. war supplies were a pretty cool idea, but not implemented well. Certain nations also exploited them. I liked the premise though.
  19. We intentionally like to keep it foggy. --- Frankly the only way this game will end up surviving is if they ditch the 11 nation model and swap to more of a clan based + 3-4 base nations one. As I've suggested, make one faction an "open" one where players can sport their own nation flags of choice and have it be the hardcore nation that exclusively RVRs. Make 3 -4 of the BIG BIG nations starter / PVE / PVP ones for new players and folks who like to solo, RP or generally ignore RVR. The open faction has clan wars, RVR and port loss. The nation method is simply killing this game very slowly. 11 of them dilute the population and mythical geographic loyalty to in-game nations forces folks to quit the game rather than try finding elsewhere to play. As for timers, I don't really get the drama behind them. If you want to keep a port....put a timer on it. They're super cheap now. I prefer an inclusive global server with multiple nationalities on it where action can be sought round the clock, rather than one with a 5 hour peak in the evenings. In-game solutions have been found to keep your precious ports safe..... use them. And if you can't attack the 20 ports that have timers that don't match up with your times....go attack the 200 other ones that do. stop whining.
  20. Had a fracas outside Key West tonight. Props to VLTRA and @Jorge for keeping themselves up 2 nights in a row. Normally that's my job. Not a particularly challenging battle, but we almost had a gold ocean blow up due to some noob sailing with survival off.... Unsure what spain's plan was for the battle, but at least it was content.
  21. Since you mentioned it.. BF took those ports off WO in US prime time. Reverse and the crew stayed up and made a special effort to take those ports way into the early hours of their morning. They didn't whine or complain about them on the forums. They just did it. Back when I was US, GB had monopoly on ports in the Bahamas set to 11-14 to dodge attacks. We got up 2 mornings and flipped 8 of them and SNOW fell apart. GB has plenty of players on in the evenings to go flip Prussian ports, go ask them. You were in Russia with us. If North and Anolytic weren't able to get at a port during their times, they had the US players in their nation do it. This is a game. In particular, it's a war game.....and shit is never going to be fair. I wish more folks had the gumption that Reverse seems to have and if he wants a port, he puts forth the effort to go and take it. 80% + of the ports on the map are set to EU times. Even Prussia's ports were all set to EU times back when we were night flipping them (wink wink). People are upset because they can't attack a few of them? Go attack elsewhere on the map. Why not go after Carta or Santa Domingo? Real money making ports never seem to get challenged, but folks give a shit about a couple useless ports with US timers on them.
  22. and here I thought communicating with other players on the OW was ruining the immersion factor....
  23. Sorry, but no. I believe that communication between players in an online multiplayer game ruins the realism and immersiveness for me. Not being able to message other players obviously leads to more PVP fights. ps - that was sarcasm
  24. While I wasn't a huge fan of the previous diplo system and the method of voting alliances, I think this statement is false....at least in regards to PBs. Back in the E v W alliance system multiple PBs a week, sometimes 2-3 a day. And this is full 25v25 battles mind you with usually 50-100 players outside screening them during EU prime times. Now most players in this current iteration of RVR are lucky to get a PB once a week. Most don't. Perhaps the alliance led to less OW PVP fights. They weren't tracked then via combat news or doubloons. We also had higher populations back then.
