  1. Night flips wouldn't be an issue if we had a much larger server pop. A nation needs a group of 25 dedicated defenders to attend a port battle. If your nation had 200+ active players, it would be easy to do a rotation or have some players in a different time zone participate in the port battles. I dont have the answer to the night flip problems, but my proposal was for the devs to implement a 5 hour lord protector window on each region where no port battle could be scheduled and it was voted on just like alliances.
  2. If my memory serves me correctly, the coalition against the pirates started AFTER they completely wiped the United states down to 1 port and controlled ~half the map. So, that is why the war against the pirates started. I agree pirates in the game right now are broken, but this is because pirates cannot have allies. If pirates try and attack a region, then they have to deal with 3 nations attacking them. I dont know if this is what the devs want (they did say pirates was supposed to be hard mode), but it doesn't seem like it is working either way. The point of the topic was to bring to attention the fact that player attrition on the DSFS side is getting pretty bad. I dont know why these threads always end up becoming flame wars, this was not my intention, it was simply to raise awareness of the current issue. I believe that the current problems with the game are mostly caused by bad development decisions that even you Lord Vicious were very vocal about after patch 9.96.
  3. Firstly, this is not a sandbox game. I do not know where people get this BS idea in their head. Secondly, the ADS alliance has been hitting the DSFS alliance hard, especially our strong hull regions. If we lose our strong hull regions, then it is GG and we lose because everyone knows that anything less than strong hull is inferior for port battles. The recent problems with this game are both developer caused and player caused. The regional bonuses are broken and severely imbalanced and on top of this, your nation or ally needs to own the region to build PB ships and we have a massive player imbalance with lopsided sides. Eventually the DSFS will collapse and I do not think it is good for the game in general. under the old system the collapse of a nation was not too terrible because a dedicated player group could rebuild a nation. However, under the new game mechanics this impossible due to the regiononal trims, and scarce recourses.
  4. Maybe this is just anecdotal evidence, but it appears to me that there is a very severe imbalance that has developed between the 2 warring alliances. I speak of the American/British/Dutch alliance (and possibly Pirates, I have seen British screening for pirates at port battles) vs the Danish/Swedish/French/Spanish alliance. I will refer to them as the ABD alliance vs DSFS alliance respectively. At the port battle at Castres the screening fleets of the DSFS Alliance faced an overwhelming amount of ABD's and grossly outnumbered the DSFS's. From my calculations at this port battle it appears that the ABD alliance was able to field 75 ships that I can count. There were 2 screening battles and the port battle which was completely full of ABD's and both of these battles had ~1/2 or less the amount of players from the DSFS alliance, and I believe that most of the French 1st rate port battle fleet got pulled into another battle with god knows how many ABD's in that one. Also, I have noticed that Sweden had a few players (appears to be a whole clan) switch to the British Nation along with a few others (not in this specific clan switch to the ABD's). This is on top of LV and however many pirates he has pulled into the British nation along with the large influx of American players, and now the "quitting" Danish (which I have only heard rumors of). I guess everyone wants to be on the wining side and no one wants to be the loser right? Like I said, this is only anecdotal evidence, but if what is happening what I think is happening, there will be a collapse of the DSFS simply by the overwhelming numbers on the ABDs side. Now I am not blaming anyone or here to sling mud, I am simply telling you my observation, and I do not think such a player inbalance is good for the long term health of this game. Discuss.
  5. Ok, I don't know about you or the many other who watch videos on this thread, but watching a 25 man fleet of 1st rates chase down what I assume to be 4 first rates (couldn't tell because they escaped when you hit tab to see) does not fit the definition of what I would call a good fight.
  6. I just lost an L'Ocean to this bug. I was repairing my ship, the repair ended, my ship was on fire, my crew spent the next 10 min going from repair into gunnery and sailing which both were turned off and survival was the only thing turned on!!!!!! This bug is extremely game breaking and survival should trump all other crew transfers if you have survival on. Makes me not even way to play this game anymore until this is fixed.
  7. Giving this a bump, because I am starting to realize that owning a Region simply to get a regional bonus is causing Regions to be way too important in the game. Lose the Region where you craft your ships, and you and your nation are crippled, especially if you lose your strong hull region. You will be playing with inferior ships until you capture the region back. Recently the Danes lost their Strong hull Region to the Americans, now they cant build strong hull ships for a while or they need to spend weeks moving resources from where they are setup to build ships to a new strong hull region. Please consider my OP proposal.
  8. This is a good idea. Also would be nice to see this used for ship crafting as well. You need some specific rare material you can only get from Port battles, or some other event.
  9. If it makes you feel any better, I nullified that 1 star vote with a 5 star vote.......................... Do not understand why people feel the need to 1 star peoples suggestions all the time. I would be ok with 6 month wipes. Conquest, ship building and the building of alliance is very slow moving in this game.
  10. Does this mean your going to start talking to us again?
  11. Cant handle the drama of the Night Flips discussion? I feel your pain. I tend to avoid those threads for long periods of time until I am in the right mood to browse through them.
  12. The PvP admiralty event is terribly designed. We need something better. We need the admiralty event to work more like a port battle. You sail there, join an instance and wait for more of your nation/allies to join along with enemies and when a minimum BR ratio is met, your battle starts. Once it starts a new instance is formed for any more players showing up.
  13. This is by far the most constructive post on this entire thread, and it outlines the main problems with this game. Everyone should read this post! When the port battle universal lockout timer was implemented and the throttling of port battles using the new hostility system was implemented is when the core of this games player base fell off. I am an American and I hardly ever get to participate in port battles anymore because when I get online to play after eating dinner and a long days work I am locked out of the best content this game has to offer, which right now is port battles. I used to log on at 8:00 PM (EST) and there was still plenty of action to be found even on the EU server with 500 players still online. The game should have no restrictions on anything, port battles should be able to happen at anytime of day. The players no matter where they are in the world should have the ability to participate in all of the same content that the EU and RUS players get to participate in. By creating a universal lockout timer you took away my freedom to play the most enjoyable part of your game after I get home from work everyday and log on (port battles). Your protectionist policies that allow the EU and RUS players to sleep comfortably at night is ruining my gaming experience. Most of the people on PvP2 that I used to play with were from California, how do you think they feel about the lockout timers? I will give you a hint THEY DON'T PLAY YOUR GAME ANYMORE DEVS! Also the one guy I used to play with on the EU server was from California as well and has 3 accounts with 2000 hours logged into this game, he doesn't play anymore either.

    reload bug?

I encountered this bug 3 times today. The one time it happened I noticed that I hit repair immediately after a repair while there was still crew in repair. showing 0/39 and hit it again to try and keep my crew there to do a back to back repair while doing the pve challenge.
  15. I said this before and I say it again, unless ships have specific roles to play in PBs people will only bring the best ships of the highest rating. Make it so capturing or destroying the towers on land are important and you just gave the mortar brigs a roll to play in port battles. Make it so capture zones are in shallower waters where only 4th rates and below can enter and you just gave 4th rates a roll in PB. Make it so only 5th rates and lower can get close enough to the towers to board them and capture the towers and you just gave 5th rates a roll in PBs. Also, want to see more variety other than Agamemnons as the 4th rate of choice? Then either buff the Connie and Ingermanland or Nerf the Agamemnon.
  16. Since we are all open to new suggestions and all open minded wonderful people, I wanted to propose a new Idea that may just fix the issues with night flipping and possibly the time zone issues. The idea is this: Once hostility reaches 100% the region flips to the nation that got hostility to 100% first, but the only way to generate hostility is through PvP content. I propose several ways to generate hostility against a region: Port battles: If you do a port battle against a region, and your side wins then 15% hostility is generated for your nation Raiding a port: If you successfully raid a port you generate 5% hostility for your nation. Blockading a port: You generate 10% hostility for your nation. For each type of battle, a flag must be purchased to attack a region (maybe someone else has a better idea for players triggering events) If the enemy wins the port battle, then your nation loses 20% hostility towards that region, if the enemy stops you from successfully raiding a port, then 10% hostility is lost, and if your blockade against a port is smashed and defeated, then you lose 15% hostility. This will make generating hostility much more difficult for attackers than the defenders (flipping regions should be very difficult anyway) Sinking player ships of the nation (or allies to that nation) that own the region in the area will generate 1% hostility for the region and if the player to a nation (or an ally) that owns the region sinks you instead, then your nation will lose 1% hostility. This will make screening fleet battles much more useful in that, if you are an attacking fleet of 25 ships trying to get to a port battle, and you are attacked by 10 ships preventing you to get to the port battle and you crush and sink all 10 of the screening ships, congratulations! your nation just generated 10% hostility against the region. If you sunk all 10 ships but lost 1 ship, then you generate 9% hostility for the region. Each port in the game can only be raided once per day, each region can only have 1 port battle per day and each region can only have one blockade battle per day. The maximum hostility that can be generated against a region per day though PvP like attacks is 30% assuming that the port battle, raid, and blockade battles were all victories for your nation, (not sure if it is best to limit this based on each nation or not). Only 1 flag can be active at a time against a region, for a whopping 4 and a half hours of action packed PvP against a region, not counting all the PvP going on before the flags are actually planted assuming that each event battle goes for 1 hour 30 minutes once the flag is planted. Perhaps its better to limit raiding to once every 12 hours and blockades to once every 18 hours or some other time (not sure) or add a 5 hour lord protector window option on each region that is voted on by the players in that nation. Pros: Lots of PvP and constant PvP in areas where nations are attacking other nations for conquest. You will have PvP going on all day long around the clock as nations are forming raids, blockading, and doing normal port battles against regions. Lots of Action all the time! Every nation will have a 5 hour window where their regions cannot be attacked (voted on by the players) No more small groups of players stopping 25 man fleets from getting to the battle, because most likely your 5 man group will get sunk, and you will be giving the enemy 5% hostility by doing so. Cons: Conquest will be very slow. Taking regions can take weeks, maybe even months of constant attacking. Your not going to win every raid, port battle, or blockade battle. Battle fatigue: since there will be constant PvP every day at regions all over the map, people will start to get burnt out constantly defending specific areas, perhaps once a week players in a nation can vote on a region to give it lord protect from attacks for 2 days to help with battle fatigue in the same area (just a thought) P.S: Please keep in mind that this is simply a rough draft suggestion. The percentages and times given are not set in stone numbers so please don't post something along the lines of "wont work because 1% hostility for sinking a traders cutter in your victory can be abused"
  17. Pirate refit is so broken. The main sail force bonus needs to be cut in half at least, and the speed increase should either be 1% or removed.
  18. This clan has gotten a lot bigger and has a quite a few English speaking players in it. If you are looking to join a Swedish Clan with American, Canadian, and other English speaking players in it, this is a decent clan to join. Also, I am a level 50 crafter with the Agamemnon Blueprint and I regularly build ships and modules for clan members.
  19. This bothers me. Sometimes people on these forums have a vision of what they want to seen in this game and sometimes that clashes with your vision. I understand that, overal, the devs decide the direction of the game, but please keep in mind that the majority of people who post on these forums do so because we love this game and care passionately about it. Please don't let a small group of trolls ruin your relationship with the community on these forums. Communication is important, and over the last month or 2 a lot of us feel like not responding is the developers just ignoring our requests and ideas. I strongly recommend you reconsider this and continue to keep an open dialogue with the community you have built here. We are only trying to help.
  20. The current system is awful sorry. I can't duel someone unless we have equal BR. It is not acceptable in its current state.
  21. No port blockade PvP missions? Blockading was a huge deal during this period in history that this game is set. No built in game tournament system? Competitive players need a balanced and fair PvP system. No lobby system so players can duel each other or assigned teams can duel? sometimes you and your friends in the same clan/nation want to have some fun dueling each other. No trader escort PvP missions? Look, if money is tight, as seems from the kickstarter, just add paint micro transactions to the game. $2 for a specific paint you can put on a specific ship. If you lose the ship with the paint, the paint goes to a special purchased content tab.
  22. Pirate refit is like you in a car chase on the highway, and the car chasing you pulls up right along side you of you like your an old driver in the slow lane. You simply cannot get away from a pirate refit ship! Never mind all the boarding bonuses, that alone makes it broken.
  23. The 2 most broken regional trims in the game right now are pirate refit and strong hull. British refit aint got nuttin' on a live oak stiffness strong hull build. We are talking 89 cm of thickness on the side of a 1st or 2nd rate ship of the line! A lot of good that faster reload is going to do when all your shots are bouncing off my hull. Pirate refit is the most broken and oppressive trim in the game because in small man groups, you will never get away from a cedar speed pirate refit ship. They will chase you down, chain your sails down and wait until the rest of the fleet in his small group runs you down and sinks or captures your ship. The gank squads love their pirate refit ships and they are used a lot on PvP1. Pirate refit is for 1 or 2 ships while the rest are decked out for tanking.
