  1. Interesting, I guess county capitals will be well fortified to protect a region and production buildings will be in lesser towns. How will national capital work in this new system? What is there to prevent nations to invest only in the capital for their production? Do they still provide a reduced chance at crafting better ships?
  2. I don't know. After a while, everyone will have become a master shipbuilder and you'll only find high end ships on the seas. I'm fine with the RNG for exceptionnal ships. What I don't like is the randomness in what ship you can hope to sail (Random permit drops). I personnaly enjoyed the post 2017-wipe harder economy. IMO, what wasn't working back then was the removal of teleports, ships two and a few other things. I still think it is the economy (either in material, crew or high cost for permits) that should still be the main wall to sailing powerfull lineships, not randomness. But I'm afraid that ship has sailed and won't come back, now that DLC ship allows one to completly avoid the economic aspect of the game yet stay competitive in PVP-RVR. I don't know if it has been done already, but at least I would review woods stats to make sure oak-oak ships ar emore than a match in combat vs LO-WO or TEAK-WO built. Especially with the new damage models and absence of economy. I mean, why has oak planking a speed penalty compared to heavier, thicker white oak planking? Giving oak a crew survivability bonus is fine only if crew cost actually matter. It doesn't right now.
  3. Maybe they havn't assimilated the lastest change and still think lineships are hopeless vs frigates
  4. Could current coding allow AI fleets to pursue enemy players in OW around the capital area, or even in the former reinforcmeent zone, but not on the rest of the map? Might be interesting.
  5. For this who have it, can you sail the Rattivan with a crew of 280?
  6. 2,2K players online!😢
  7. Code of honor. Everyone knew a frigate was no match for any lineship. If I'm not mistaken, frigates had no use in such battles, but to relay messages from the flagship to the rest of the formation, and to rescue heavily damaged ships and crewmembers. There is a case of a french frigate opening fire at a british lineship (Aboukir?) and getting swiftly dispatched as a result by returning fire.
  8. This will prolly mean the gulf will move from being a private Spanish-French lake to whoever gets there first to farm doublons. I don’t see France, Denmark, Netherland or Sweden ever getting a foothold in there. It is way to far from their starting point.
  9. Why not provide new players with 2 starting outpost instead of one? 1rst in the capital, and another one in a freetown of their choice? Might help getting people out of the capital area sooner.
  10. The Christian VII added to the game is the one launched in 1767, not 1807
  12. The second flag is the royal banner. I guess the question is: was it used on regular flags or on the royal banner only? (When the king was on board)
  13. You are mostly suggesting the approach of the stick. 1rst rates limited to a few privileged players, maintenance cost that would bankrup anyone taking a break from the game, etc. Why not use the carrot instead? Since we have a fleet feature, add special bonuses to the fleet depending on it's composition. ex: Firepower or manoeuver bonus when 50 or 60% of it is made of 3rd rates, speed or manoever bonus when 25% of 5th rates, or speed malus when more than 20% of a fleet is made of 1rst rate., etc.
  14. At least, with the option to tp to port after the battle, it also meant that it was usually a waste of time to stay still and wait outside of a battle. People had better things to do and would provide content somewhere else. I've seen so many players waste so many hours in waiting just to revenge gank some poor fellow. All those hours could have been better used.
  15. I did it by chaining cerb #1 down to around 70% sails so I could deal with the other one 1v1 after getting some distance, then came back and boarded the first ship.
  16. There is some info and links in that thread : http://forum.game-labs.net/topic/5702-hercules-frigate-30-guns-with-plans/ Appears to be a former russian vessel.
  17. Came back after a few months for the tutorial. It should help a lot. Small comments: I've noticed there is nothing about fore and aft ships. Adding a quick tutorial for manual sailing with them would help. Regarding the special manoeuvring tutorial. I would add specific information about getting out of iron and full tacking, especially with fore and aft vessels. It can be a pain the first few times when you don't know what you are doing. Finally, I've always considered demasting to be harder than boarding. I'd swap those two in the line up so new player don't hit the ''demast wall '' too early Cheers,
  18. Montanes, téméraire class and another dutch 3rd rate won the last player poll and devs said they were going to add all 3 into the game.
  19. I don't want to be the poor guy burning 1 victory mark and all the mats for a shabby Océan...
  20. Maybe the guy had that new stern armor upgrade. This upgrade buff the armor at more than 100 thickness, depending on the ship.
  21. What about these other player forced to fight your useless bots while you are yourself enjoying being back to your business? You are the one who brought them in, you are the one to take them out.
  22. Victory also has a lower BR thant the other 2 first rate. In some PB, that can mean one or 2 more ships (Wasas or Mortar brigs, for exemple) than if you used Océans or Santi. That can make a huge difference.
  23. I’m not convinced A means « available » in stock, but rather available for aunction. If teak is listed as A in a specific port, it means that port will spawn a set quantity every few hours and fill the highest bidder contract, or dump in the port stock if there is no contract. If you need teak logs, you go to a port with A status for teak logs and outbid the buy contracts already in place, if there are any, or buy the leftover directly if there is no contracts.
  24. D'ailleurs, si la tendance se maintient, la France devrait avoir une des meilleures flottes PVP lors du Prime Time US alors on ira chercher ces ports pour vous
  25. What happens with contracts? I had a 2k White oak logs contract that should have been fulfilled this morning. Are they transfered too?
