    Caribbean country selection is our decision and we take full financial responsibility of this decision. In the past this decision has led to more copies = more players despite complaints of people unfamiliar with history of colonization of the world.

    But you have introduced a GAMEPLAY issue too, a serious one that should be looked at.  You have nations with 5% pop in a server of 600-700 guys. 30-40 guys in some nations. Come on. Do you understand that many nations have a really hard time in rvr? 

     

    It is required to merge nations into alliances or coalitions or whatever.

    It is exactly like @Intrepido said: When devs decide to have a variety of nations to sell more game copies, wich brings more players..fine. But that makes it a mandatory task to bring an ally system to keep the server health in terms of balance and RvR. @admin seems to igore every request for an improved/dynamic ally system wich can give the low pop nations a tool to really work together. Because of the lack of such a system, the RvR died. Yes, there is a Port Battle here and there, but remind the good old times when we had much of PBs every day. Now we have some smaller nations not able to participate in RvR and that is a bad game design mistake in my oppinion.

    And YES: The problems of too expensive ships or too much grind or too high pb-br are things that make the problem even bigger, but the main problem ist: We need support for low Pop nations to come together and unite. Because i dont see the will of the devs to solve that problem, or simply accept there is a problem, i see no future and no reason to play the game anymore.

    The problem isn't the russian playerbase, it's shitty designed mechanics... What's even worse - we knew from EA that there's a clear powercreep in this game that could and did render nations uncompetitive.. We knew the effects of this was: players left the game. How on earth someone thought that port bonus' would be a grand idea then is beyond me. It doesn't take a genious to know that the powercreep would ensure that the 55p ports ended up in more or less the same hands. Especially since 3 of the 5 russian ports is in the mexican guld with only two free ports located more than an hours sail from NO or VC respectively. The other 55p port was placed in Nassau, of all places.. Basically an uncapturable port due to the buff on forts! How on earth could this not have been foreseen??! And the effect? - Players left. Will they come back now that ppl can't say "it's EA it might be improved in a later patch"?

    Then comes the RoE, that basically ensures that hunting the larger factions is impossible since they either A gets a BR advantage in every match or B has 20 mins to get a BR advantage, and since they have the majority playerbase they will always be able to get the BR advantage. How could this not have been foreseen? Not to mention the shitrakings the new players got when they inadvertently joined a battle they shouldn't have, some even to the point of being tribunaled because "they're prob alts".. How can it be any wonder that the player retention rate is so low in a game so poorly designed?

    I could go on, but honestly any1 saying that port bonus' doesn't matter are just not adept at simple calculus and any1 saying the RoE is functioning fine is just delusional or atleast so narcissistic that they can't see the newbie problem. Any1 saying the powercreep isn't an issue, well then answer me this:

    Why do ppl  pay fx. 600k for carta refits? That's 6 boxes of shitlong sails in todays NA econ. If it doesn't matter why would ppl sail afk for hours to get it? If port bonus' doesn't matter, why don't Russia drop fx. Nassau and give it to a smaller faction then? If the powercreep doesn't matter why then do Russia get more and more players by the day? I'd reheeeally like to see the most recent playerdistribution if it's possible @qw569?

    Answer me this:

    Why is players leaving if the mechanics are great?

    Oh, you are so right. This is the "complete edition of biggest game design fails in NA". I cant agree more, but I lost hope that the devs ever understand that.

    Yes and that decision was a complete failure. 1 or 2 more development iterations could have fixed the problem. Instead they've chosen the easy way: just drop it. The result is a superpower nation and the rest leaves the game (like i did).

  4. I stopped playing because of the massive Imbalance of the nations. As some people already said, smaller nations cant do anything in RvR without the will of a superpower. So, without a balance in nations, the RvR will never wake up again. The Question is: How to balance nations? With the current mechanic I see no way. The Nation Switch DLC makes it impossible to switch a big clan without splitting it and loosing players with that. On the other side: Why are the smaller nations don't group up against the superpower? Because the lack of of an well designed ally system, wich is supporting that. That is the most important thing to fix in my point of view. 

    @admin already stated in several posts they tried to improve RvR, but always failed. And with that I come to my second point why I stopped playing this game: The devs looks like they have no idea what to do, to fix the problems above and gave up. But for me, the RvR gameplay is the core of content creation all over the carribean. 

    Of course there are other things, like the massive grind wich need to be addressed, but without a healty RvR, there is not enough content, and without content there are no players and without players we have the situation like Graf wrote: "I like the teamplay most. But my team is gone …"

    At the very least, you may consider stopping recruiting and joining the rest of us in lobbying the devs to a gameplay fix for the population imbalance problem.  You will run out of content soon, if that doesn't happen.

    Exactly! I stopped playing the game because of imbalanced nations. And i dont play until they implement some kind of ally system to make the server healthy again. What they do is to wait and hope the players solve that problem. But players don't!

  6. Oh I think there are more players having this problem. For Example, this sounds very similar:

    He is questioning for a solution with a timeout at battle instance start. After that he found himself at the Open World.

    Because Adlatus have no problems with any other game, we cant see a general connectivity problem with the PC settings or his ISP.

    Also there were no problems in the past, all starts at one point with a NA patch.

  7. Adlatus still suffers under this problem. I fear we will loose a player because of this. Today he had a disonnect while starting a battle again. I had a view on the clan list at that moment and it shows "Adlatus II; Officer; Battle, Unknown". Then he reconnects and "unkown" was changed to ship type "Rättvisan". Dont know if that Information brings an idea. 

    The evening before the last server crash he had a stable game and played some hours without a problem, the same as it works all the 3 years before. But after server was online the same problems occured.

    Wir Kurländer nehmen gerne nette und interessierte Spieler auf unsere Fahrten mit. Schaut einfach rein. TS notwendig. Falls Interesse an einer Aufnahme in unseren Clan besteht sagt irgendeinem Kuri Bescheid. Nach einigen gemeinsamen Fahrten wird dann intern abgestimmt und einer Aufnahme steht dann nichts mehr im Wege und ihr könnt euch unser neues Clan Kürzel [KUR] an das Schiff nageln. Ansonsten versuchen wir im Interesse der Nation zu spielen. D.h. wenn RvR in irgendeiner Form in unserem abendlichen Zeitfenster vorkommt versuchen wir nach unseren bescheidenen Möglichkeiten da auch bei zu sein und zu unterstützen.

    Right, in the current state of the game. If the devs and players would had understand that an good designed ally system could help to bring a balance into the game, we hadn't such an unbalanced game where the small nations completely dependant from the will of some clan leaders of the bigger nations.

    Everybody who has to do with development of ports knows what a catastrophy it will be for each nation, if it loses it's crafting port today. But the answer of port mechanic cannot be, that attacks on those ports should not take place. Answer should be that an enemy stops attacking such a nation after he destroyed their war industry. Then war is over.

    As a player of a weak nation I can tell you: If we would be crushed by bigger nation(s) without a chance of defence I need to ask myself If I would invest work to rebuild all the lost things with the expectation to be crushed again and again. My answer would be "NO". So what options left:

    1: Leave game (I think this would be the most realistic option for players without the willing to buy a forger dlc)

    2: Change nation to a stronger one

    3: Stay and hope for a diplomatic solution (nearly useless without an InGame ally system. The past shows: that do not work)

    But I would not try to rebuild the nation.

    Ich bevorzuge das PvE und spiele derzeit auf dem PvE Server bei den Spaniern, bin aber nicht abgeneigt zu den Schweden zu konvertieren. 😉 

    Was bedeutet für euch eine hohe Altersklasse? Falle ich da mit meinen jungen 29 Jährchen rein oder bin selbst ich dagegen noch ein junger Hüpfer?

    Was das Alter angeht, würdest du mit 29 zu den Bubis gehören :-). Suppenkelle hat allerdings Recht: Wir spielen auf dem War Server und PvE ist eher Mittel zum Zweck als denn Leidenschaft. Daher wäre vermutlich ein PvE orientierter Clan, die bessere Option. 

  11. Die Kurländer sind zum Release nun wieder bei den Schweden zu finden. Wer ebenfalls Schweden seine Heimat nennt, deutsch spricht und einen Clan sucht findet uns im Schweden TS (sverige.ninja). Wir halten Ausschau nach neuen Kapitänen um unsere Reihen zu verstärken. Wir haben eine hohe Altersklasse sind keine Hardcore Lev'ler und haben eine angenehme TS Atmosphäre. Die Unterstützung innerhalb des Clans ist sehr intensiv so das jeder Beachtung findet.

    ..for what? to see the pop grow, to see the new players realize all the unfinished features and imbalanced nations the broken eco and all the other problems and then see all the the new players leave again and write a new negative review? Yes new players will come. I doubt that there will be much of them and i doubt they will stay long and i doubt the dev planning to develop the game after release.

    Das zeigt dass die offiziellen Zahlen sehr mit Vorsicht zu genießen sind und man die Stärke einer Nation nicht von der Anzahl abhängig machen kann. Ansonsten müssten die Briten alle überrollen können, sehe ich aber nicht.

    Aber hey, das ist hier gar nicht Thema..

    Oh, da spielen wir entweder unterschiedliche Spiele oder haben eine unterschiedliche Wahrnehmung..

    - Kein System zum Ausgleichen der Nationen (..und nein, die Spieler bekommen das nicht alleine auf die Reihe) sonst ist die Server Population ganz schnell wieder im Keller

    - Keine Permits für kleinere Schiffe mehr außer in dusseligen Grind Missionen

    - Exploits die immer wieder von Spielern genutzt werden (können)

    - Nur noch Mono Fleet Müll seit dem viel zu hohen BRs in PBs (Analytic's Dream is reality)

    - Keine Konter Möglichkeiten gegen Hostility (Anzeige der Hostility Level viel zu spät oder gar nicht im Spiel), da viel zu schnell erledigt. Da kann man auch gleich wieder die Flagge raus holen. (Da hatte man wenigstens die Möglichkeit den Flaggenträger abzufangen)

    - Frontlinien System unausgereift. (Capitol hopping)

    - Combat Medals nur in den Patrol Zonen (Gank or get ganked for medals)

    - Handel von Handelsgütern tot, da nahezu risikolose Passagier und Fracht Transportmissionen viel mehr Reals bringen

    - Keine echte Lösung für Nightfips und Port Blocking (Spieler Timer System funktioniert nicht)

    - ...

    Gerade der erste Punkt macht mir Bauchschmerzen. Das RvR ist das Herz des Spiels. Das funktioniert nur wenn ein Balancing vorhanden ist. Gibt es längerfristig eine Supermacht die nicht nur viele und aktive Spieler hat, sondern dadurch auch viele und bessere Schiffe als andere, so werden die anderen aufhören. Einige vielleicht hier und da OW PvP machen oder PvE, aber im Prinzip dümpelt das Spiel dann nur so vor sich her bis die Server dann abgeschaltet werden.

    Schön das ein alter Veteran zurück kehrt. Die Nationen können jeden gebrauchen (ausser die Russen, die schon Zerg^^). Ja, auch ich erinnere mich an den Schweden Dänen Krieg. Leider haben meist die Schweden aufs Auge bekommen, hehe. 2 mal bis zur Hauptstadt zurück geschrumpft und trotzdem weiter gekämpft. Bei dem heutigen System ist das aber sicherlich nicht mehr so einfach zu verkraften. Aber ich schweife ab. Schweden nimmt natürlich auch gerne einen deutsch sprachigen Spieler, wobei hier die meisten der Nation im TS und nicht im Discord sind. Was Live Streamen beim PvP angeht bin ich allerdings skeptisch, das dürfte die Russen anziehen wie die Fliegen das Klo 🙂
