This only says that forum posts cause nervous colic among developers. I'm sure the players want to developers feel good.

Therefore, I suggest that all stop using this forum and go to something like Reddit.

In order not to aggravate the nervousness of the developers.

No can do, if people look at the reddit posts I follow I will be banned.

I think there is nothing to be misunderstood in the term 'stability' when someone is exclusively talking about wood construction and showing illustrations which show how masts continue to reach vertically through the decks right down to the bottom.

Was not aware there is a perhaps a nautical special meaning of 'stability' which could overlay the common understanding of constructive stability, or 'stiffness'.

You used stability perfectly fine. It's a broad term. Stiffness is more technical and has to do with flexibility. A ship can be both stable and flex too. By design to be far.

About what ship are we talking? Historically, line ships (3d rate and upward) were almost unsinkable even after hours of close range broadside exchanges. So I hope we won't see basic cutter penetrating 1st rates at 100m because in my opinion that would be just stupid

Historically we would surrender 90% of the Time but we do not. Its physically impossible for a ship to be unsinkable. Its a matter of ammunition and time. If you have enough bullets you can sink a first rate with a 50 cal. Sooner or later there is no material left. Surrendering is admitting defeat. The only thing worse than admitting your defeated is death. That's why we do not surrender. One of the reasons I loved having officers. I did not let my officer die. His name was jesus lustig. I have to admit that the name played a major role.

A first rate will shatter a basic cutter at 100m and if you as a captain cannot keep the cutter for hiding under your guns you are not in the position to sail it.

Upgrades for hull and masts will not give invulnerability but instead will reduce or increase effective safe range

Finally. I'm so sick of one sided tactics.

Other than that I like these ideas at first glance but I am still wondering how you will ever balance guns since the difference in armour between the highest and lowest tier ships is to big. I gave a good example in an older topic and still think its relevant. I'll have to look for it.

Edit. I'm curious of what others think of this because I know many players dislike ranged battles. I love them. I love anything that forces players to think before yolo into battle like idiots.

Port boni arrived much later on PvE peace server than on your PvP.

Also I wasn't citing what I ever said, but what I consistently read others writing with each change. Here on forum and on chat. So you should direct your reply to them who deplored their 'meta losses' and not to me.

I understand that you were replying to others but ship quality is not important in pve. It is to a certain extent but in a competitive environment a 2% difference in stats can have a significant impact especially with multiple repairs. It's why the repair "meta" has made the game very inconsistent.

I am sorry, i definitely broke the rules. More than just sorry though, I'm very embarrassed. i managed to play this game 500 hours before without issue, not sure why I thought I could just come along and sh*t post like that. Apologies. I'm not sure a permanent ban is appropriate for a single incident, If that remains, i think it would be appropriate to refund the DLC I got just a few hours before being banned. You have all the power so you can do whatever you like, but just as I'm responsible for breaking the rules, I think it's also fair that I get a refund for something I purchased in good faith, I had not idea permanent chat bans were even a thing or I would have waited to purchase the admiralty DLC.

Tip: quote admin with the apology or he will not see it in notifications. You replyed to yourself. Even then he gets loads of them so its hard for him to respond to everything.

  8. Teak WO was meta imo because it was the best compromise between speed and armour. Why would a new system change that? It will always be speed and armour that beats the rest because in reality it was what mattered most to. Once players find the perfect build it will be the meta.

That being said I have always liked the damage overhauls that add more realism but imo there are way to many multipliers in perma mods and port bonuses to balance accordingly. IMO if you want to do this right you should remove all modifiers in game that affect the ships planking and HP. Woods affecting ships is good but it should only be the woods. Nothing more.

    Thats not going to work.

We already mentioned it in the Russian forum long time ago. Players want legends but in the open world. Players want open world, but with ability to skip (due to kids, families, limited time).  I had 2 kids since the project launched, I enjoy pvp a lot more now as i can just click a button, But i still dont see the other side of lake maracaibo first time in any caribbean game, and i cant get that feeling anywhere.

Players want the best of both. Legends lacked the feeling of grandness and vastness and emptiness that accentuates excitement of the battle. Legends is dead because it was just another lobby shooter. there is only one NA and there is nothing like that.

You never bothered with legends man. Not that it matters since it was a free side project but it never worked when I played. We would join the game and not even enter the same battle etc. It was a closed alpha game. Legends required a separate store page to succeed and more development in general.

Just scrap the whole crafting and OW and focus on battles everyone likes that we saw that in naval action legends!

    Oh wait ...

Oh wait what? You mean that no one played it? Legends was not even given a chance. The matchmaking was basically broken so no wonder it failed. A legends style free to play game would be a nice idea. Sell players half the ships and give them the biggest of every class for free. Legends was a closed alpha game. It had potential but was practically none functional. It would need to be a separate ip in the steam store and people would play it. I'm sure of it.

    cant beat those russian timers.

No worries. Even without timers you would not have a chance. Don't get me wrong. The Russians are trash. It's just that your are trasher. If I was playing I would bitch slap them all the way up the moskva River back to Moscow before winter ever came. Compared to what I would do to WO in a port battle the scorched earth and the Eastern front would look like a firework show.

Dear glorious and most magnificent russian devs, your humble customer comes to you with a bended knee and suggests that instead of making a cheaper version of the game just make the game free to play. You have more than enough DLC in the game to pay for the development costs. There are currently 255$ worth of DLC. Your great and flawless game will undoubtedly make more money off of dlc if there were billions of people playing the game. after all it is the greatest age of sail game ever imagined. This will prevent you from having to revert on the 15$ decision 6months down the road.

    Your most humble servant

your sucking up aside I can explain to you why making this game free to play  would not add a load of players. Marketing. I use addblock on my pc but on my phone I am spamed with world of tanks and world of warships add. In fairness that is why I do not play them. Another thing with free to play games is that you would need to make way more dlc ships. As much as I hate them the vast majority of people would not buy the handful of current DLC ships espessially since the cost as much as full games. Free to play games make money by selling you cheap things over and over again. They are made to be addicting and sell you DLCs at a few dollars at a time so you loose oversight. Its quite likely they will be banned in the EU in the future.

xDDD. Do you know what it is to live in Spain? Survivors is an understatement. 😜

Ps. I understand that you mean the great famine in Ireland of 1845-49

no matter how bad it is you are still better of than the people that came before you.

We have passed many tests, much worse than this one. The black or bubonic plague quickly killed 25% of the European population. Cholera epidemics, the badly called Spanish flu, typhus etc. And we have always come out ahead. We are fighters and survivors by nature.

Encourage all those who have contracted the disease, wishing them a speedy recovery.

Ps. Today the State of Alarm decreed by the government in Spain comes into force.

We are not survivers. Our ancestors were survives. Everybody else died.

There's several ways of contagion and any droplets can compromise any surface, be it from breath, coughing, sneezing, etc. That's all. Same as plenty other diseases. This one has a contagious factor way above health services response, hence isolation or else the entire health system collapses in a week. 🙂 With an average infection factor of 2.5x is no joke.

And people must keep working else everything stops. Easy to talk about "work from home" when the majority of services cannot function remotely. While a grocery store is setup for uncrowded workforce the health locations are ramping up the staff. And that's what i worry about. Anyone can sell groceries, but not everyone can be a nurse 😉 and those are the frontline warriors. How easy we forget those that contained ebola some years ago...

In any case, same stuff as before. Keep the house aired, sunlit, lots of hydration and mental sanity with books, modelling, hobbies and alike.

For southern europeans is really hard to cut off the social as in general we are always atuned to everything social. Any large gathering of friends is a daily occurrence 😭

I live in Austria and work on construction. I'm not working for 2 weeks at least. I think its an overreaction but no one wants to be responsible if it gets bad. The country is locking down.

Not everyone can sell groceries or work in an environment like that. Even when everything is normal there is a lot of stress and things need organising. You cannot simply replace people.

If you don't accept the general scientific consensus on how corona type viruses are transmitted that is your problem.

You are correct. Direct touch does not ... but then you lick your fingers to turn a page of a book or touch your eyes with an itch, etc,. That's how it enters your system by "touch".

Keep your homes aired, sunlit. Eat healthy, drink a lot of water, keep disciplined and stay focused. And remember to help whomever needs, even with simple things like bringing groceries to a elderly neighbour that can't walk long distances/being a high risk target. Little stuff like that.

If you are involved in health services, God bless you and Godspeed. Sometimes you are invisible, now you are invaluable.

    Snappy salute.

I linked a source.... What more can I do. If it was as easy as washing your hands and not touching things this would not be so bad. I am not saying you should not because even if there is only a 0.5% you catch the virus that way it could save alot of people.

I am just as worried about people working in grocery stores and logistics. They come into contact with so many people and have no masks on.

I see, but it might happen. Do make sence to avoid it then. But I agree it can be to much, at work we now have to use our own pencil. But we can still use the same keyboard. Go figur. I can take a cop of coffe without desinfect my hands.

Tell your boss he is an idiot. The main way the virus is transmitted is by air and not pencils.
