  1. It would be a good start, if we could talk to all players on OW, not only of the own nation. Show player names again and let us chat.
  2. We need more traders and their cargo must be worth something. I suggest that in enemy ports a trader acts as a smuggler and doesn't pay taxes, but is a valid target for raiders.
  3. I don't think docking fees are the right way. I agree that stocking many ships should cost something, and of course more then stocking only a few 7th rates. But I prefer ships to become shabby after a certain time (decreasing their properties) and need a refit. The time to become shabby depends on the wood. Fast ships need an earlier refit than slow live oak ones.
  4. This is what such a game needs, even if some of your ideas need a bit of adjustment, it is exactly what is missing. Some more content than just pvp or pve battles. I hope the devs will code something like this.
  5. Why do you care about br? Battles should simply close after 2min, who is in can fight, who is not cannot join, but wait outside for the survivors. Portbattles should be restricted to a certain ship type as the biggest to be used. Br is an artificial number, that shall help to compare ships, but it is more a guess than measurable.
  6. We once had these better protected areas, they were call reinforcement zone, where only the defending nation (the one with the capital nearby) could join battles. In my opinion a good solution. If you want to kill noobs, take the risk of being outnumbered. I hope these zones come back.
  7. Those rare resources should only be available on ai traders and/or other ai ships. Best would be to have some ai escorted traders, a treasure fleet, that carry those goods. Then every nation has an equal chance to get them.
  8. All power to the crafters! Port bonus should be removed, a crafter bonus introduced. Remove the upgrading of ports with resources and let ports produce the good, that can then be bought by players and shipped to their manufacturing port. Give players the chance to fight the big nations supply lines. Now production is too protected. Hauling goods at a certain risk is what the game needs. Make capped good worth something. This game is more than pvp.
  9. Either that, best to be set by the owning clan like the timer, or much better having water depth. You can enter in your 1st rate, but i some ports you can only sail in a small channel, which forces you to sail close to the forts, while the smaller ships have a larger area to navigate. The channel can be such narrow in some places, that you cannot even turn your big ship. That would be historically correct and would decrease the number of 1st rate only battles. ... even if difficult to code for the devs.
  10. The sad thing is, just trying to encourage pvp doesn't make it a good game. The battles themselves are fantastic, there is nothing comparable on the market, but sadly the rest is far away from perfect. I still hope, that we will once get the game we dream of.
  11. This is something you have to discuss in your clan. They should make you an officer, when you have such a task. The idea in general sounds good.
  12. There should be higher profit for real trading, not for those stupid missions. Fill your ship with cargo paid on your own and ship it across the carribean with the risk of loosing all you invested, that way you should make a hell of money. What you propose here is just printing money. Make a button in port, every time you press it you get 1000 dubs and 100k reals. We need the old cargo missions back, where you had to deliver a certain good to a certain town, no matter how and where you get it. All on your risk for a high profit. Passenger missions are a good way for new players to get some money.
  13. As long as you cannot see from port what is going on outside, dockhopping is a valid way to ensure the sea is clear.
  14. Port bonuses concentrates shipping on a small area, so a big part of the map is not used so frequently anymore. I would remove port bonus completely and replace it with a crafting experience bonus (for each ship type separately). If you craft a lot you build great ships, the influence of such a crafting bonus should a third of todays port bonus... Well, I suggested it before, but no one wanted to hear it...
  15. So we need third side in the battle, would be something for sea battles, too, either join one of the combatants or join with your own colors and fight both, I would like that.
  16. For me a battle starts before tagging. Preparation in OW, gaining the weather gage, see that not too many enemies are around, check the distance to forts, etc. Then you tag and hope that you target won't interfere too much with your plans. Finally the battle starts, the people within sight may join (since you recognised they were there it's only fair), then the hot work starts... This is how historical naval battles were done and this shall be reflected in the game. If you get ganked, ask yourself why. Usually you sailed carelessly in enemy waters or meet an enemy raider group in your waters. To avoid it, sail in a group or take a fast ship. The historical mitigation. If you want to help your friends, sail in a group. If someone is too careless he has to pay the price. Why should the preparations of the attacker being devalued, when it is the defenders fault not to be prepared for the things that might happen in the waters where he is sailing.
  17. That is how it should be in all battles!
  18. Shouldn't be the question what the majority of the players like? For big battles you may give us the battle room back, no sailing just fighting 25 v 25. Those were great times.
  19. I think that raids should be somehow announced, so that you may have a pvp battle before and after the raid.
  20. If you cannot defend your port, because you do not know that it will be raided, the should be no impact on the port.
  21. Do I understand this correctly? You cannot screen, AI will suddenly appear in port and start the battle? I understood that everything is done on war server to increase pvp (even this 20min timer), now we are forced to fight ai. I understand that you want to keep the big nation busy, to take some pressure from the smaller, but I don't think it is the right way to turn ports neutral when loosing the battle. If its a raid, AI should take half of all players items in the warehouses and from clan warehouse, but never capture the port. We will see how it works.... It will be an event only for the vet players, that have big ships and can crew them.
  22. Drifting is one issue, i know that. My problem is stationery. I am fully stopped beside the other ship, pressing x, taking loot, pressing x again and see that the loot is back in the other ships hold. I once tried until the other was too deep to loot it, but no chance to get the loot in my hold. Quite annoying, especially when it is an elite ai you have killed.
  23. I suspect the connection, too. It is similar to the things happening in port, when I move item from hold to warehouse, before the game crashes, but the game does not crash at this point. Maybe you can give us the option to move things with right mouseclick on item, move to hold. That works in port usually better than drag and drop.
