If a port battle is announced 1-2 days in advance I am concerned that it will lead to a huge amount of griefing and/or annoying game play.
I am basing the following on the assumption that port battles remain at 25 a side.
With announcement of battle 1-2 days in advance what is stopping alts, lower level ships, or players who won't coordinate with their fleet being at the Battle and jumping in. This can and will lead to attacks or defence being compromised.
As an example you form a fleet of 25 santi Danish players to attack aves. Due to the advance notice I decide to take my frigate to go help out. I arrive at aves and jump in when battle starts. How pissed do you think the 25 Santis are? This is the innocent version. The grief version has brit alts throwing cerbs in. Same could easily happen for defenders as well.
The other element of this links to the "land grab" to become a Lord. (I like the idea). I am concerned that the best laid plans of your clan or group of friends can be laid to waste by others turning up at the Battle and claiming the spoils. This is not so much of a big deal but it will have a negative impact if you lay plans only to have others from your own nation ruin them.
Overall like the ideas and would just want some assurance that the pb timer isn't going to overload the tribunal system.
