I take it you subscribe to the idea that it is easier to ask for forgiveness than permission then..?

If I'm in a battle with a bunch of friendlies and tell my mate across the table that I'm gonna blow up the enemy team as well as my own; does that qualify as stating my intent? Should I not tell the people who are actually fighting along side me as well?

His intention was not to blow up everyone. So he was not able to tell everyone that he will kill everyone. All what's left are some maybes. Maybe he should have told his "team" that he is a fire ship, yes. And that is all. He was not intended to do Green on Green. I would say he was just thoughtless about that point because he was not overthinking about what this would cause.

Nevertheless, he faced up to that, he did not hide, he delivered the video on his own. He showed you that he didn't mean it that harsh as you think he meant it. So at the end, there is just one point left which is discussable. Was he rude or wasn't he. And even in that case, he made a step towards you delivering that damn video on his own. So however you think about him, this is a plus.

here you can see national flags  captains do not give a shit to other countries ships ...it should be forbidden to joint other country's battles

    lets discuss this

and keelhaul that captain and de-rank it ...

So you want to create an exploit where two nations can "save their ships" hiding in a battle against each other like pirates and Spanish did two years before when the join timer was ridiculous short? No way...

Okay, two things to add. First, he did not hide with this. He brought up an entire video of the happening and told you what he was thinking about this when he did it. This is not done by someone who did not really means what he said. In that case, he would just have wait for some water down the river hoping no one would find that video or deleting it.

Second, he declared that his intention was to join the side with more ships so he can survive longer to get the Danish he did not join with the intention to bring down the Russians. However when he wasn't able to move anymore and reacted by laughing at what happened. Important to know about Donnergott is that he reacts anytime with laughter. He has a gift which I wish I would call my own for myself, he has fun and no salt about pixels. He is in a good mood when we lose a ship, you lose a ship and even when he is losing a ship. He is not greedy or something.

    Conclusion:

    1. Intention about that action: try out a fireship
    2. Joining the stronger side so he would have time for doing so near the enemy
    3. Caught in fire shock nearby friendlies
    4. BOOOM
    5. Taking at more easy like the rest.

So there is no real Green on Green and normaly we "care" about the side we join when we join another country (However the two captains we joined last time did not   and left us for good while they ran away.... but that's another story). The only point left and discussable is no.5 and this is very specific. At the and and from your point of view all what's left is that he maybe was rude. But Green on Green? Nope ...

  4. Die KINGS GERMAN NAVY rekrutiert!

    SIGN IN GENTLEMEN!

Wer wegen eines Offizierspatents anfragen will meldet sich via In-Game-Message bei NitroBiLLe oder Jonathan Arlington. Man findet uns außerdem auch im Nation-TS

    1. No one proposed 10 min travel from KPR to Willemstad

    2. Willemstad has a safe zone with reinforcements

    3. You know what's the 100k distance from port? That's about 20 minutes of sailing with a good wind. Sure, you can magically vanish in 20 minutes and disappear, don't make me laugh. The 100k distance from land is a huge and fair distance. No one will warp or vanish nor disappear in front of you.

You're getting really paranoid about this magic and everything trying to find loopholes that are not existing.

    1. Ok, make it 20 minutes then. Or even 30. It does not matter and is not important which time you use. In the moment you have two parallel  "travel zones" it will hurt the game.

    2. Dude. It's an example. Don't derail this.

    3. Yes, I know. Do you also know that the important point about an open world is that you can be attacked everywhere? Not only in 0 to 100k distances of a shallow? The best hunting and being hunt I had were in the middle of the ocean and not in the stupid range of a port where I or my enemy can hide in front of a port. In the moment you travel time is increased because you are at another position and anyone on the map is not because he is too near to a stupid port the open world is crashed because of an unfair advantage of the warp ship. It kills the balance.

What's the problem with faster sailing away from the coast? It's not Star Trek Warp, consider it as a stronger wind blowing to your sails, possible addition of studding sails too or extra staysails either. It's not magic.

Of course, it is. Half of the game with an open world is strategic movement. If it lasts a while to get your ships away from your home waters you can be spotted. It's half of the game that the enemy could spot you. If you have your warp engine on the high sea you start at Kingston/Port Royale at a good time to reach Williamstaed after 10 minutes. When the first dutch pubbies have been slaughtered we would disappear to the high sea to make a half circle to  Santa Marta which we would reach in about two minutes and so on. We also can spot poor guys in our high-speed vessels which are sailing along the coast to be "save". We can overrun them before they can react. No one will be able to help them.

Look if you are so disturbed by the open sea wait for Naval Action Legend. This is the thing for you. But please, please let the people who love to sail the open world do their thing without making it just ridiculous.

    Possible solution:

Increase speeds far away from land. Let's say once you are 100k away from closest shore, then your ship starts going faster and faster. Thus, it won't ruin OW PvP around ports and land and it will fix annoying afk sailing for many hours.

It would ruin strategical targeting trading routes... The speed was increased already. The Teleport from Free Ports is back, you can go in and create an outpost in open hostile ports as long the owner is cool with it. That's all that you need. It took me two days going for Aves but not because sailing time was too long, it was because I rested in several ports looking for a hunt (and sailing into a full port battle fleet of RUS, oh my gosh I was thrilled....) on my way. What I want to say. the Open World was, is and hopefully will be a big part of the game. Don't destroy it with "warp six" jumps à la Star Trek or something else.

@admin Would you explain how this new system is supposed to relate to the historical pretext of the 18th century? As far as I know (and I reheeeally do know a lot about history) at no time did "companies" such as the ones you describe exist. Please don't refer to the british east india company as a individually based entity as it operated with  a charter from the crown - and the british east-india company did at no time own and operate colonies - the takeover of India was made by proxy rulers and with the endorsement and considerable weight of the british crown and military. As I see it this radically removes the need for national factions, the need for a carribean setting (let's face it you would have a hard time coming up with a map that is worse from a gameplay perspective) and removes any historical pretext for the game - something that was the one of the direct reasons why I bought into the game.

^ This!  In all points.  Just this!

I get the idea of keeping nations, you need them for port assignments, and well people want a flag to sail under. However, we can drastically reduce the number of nations to let's say 4.

And that's the point. For the people which like "to sail under a flag" it means something to fight together for that. Call it role play romantic but this was a part of all of that. Open world, Nations, The war aganst your Nations arch enemy. It was something to enjoy. This change will kill that instantly and remarkably. It will kill the "Age of Sail"-Romance for a big MMO-Clan-vs-Clan-Battle-Royale which works fine if you play "The Division" or some other lone raider game but not in this "Age of Sail" scenario.

thats exactly why we think national gameplay is becoming irrelevant with lower online. Alts ruin it to the extent it becomes unplayable. National infighting or disagreements do not create a unified nation. Its so bad that if some 10 players who you don't know join the port battle on your side you actually never know if they are going to help or interfere - there is not much trust.

Even simple things will start to work. In reality if a brit was rogue he was demoted and kicked out of the navy (not currently). You will be able to punish rvr players by kicking from clan.

So why Nations at all?  As you said it will be irrelevant with this change.

  11. I want to be honest. This is the worst idea I heard. It kills the sense of Nations, it kills the pb-experience for smaller clans, it will bring endless civil wars. At least the only faction which will enjoy this are Pirates because they are not meant to be a Nation at all. If you want this make a game where every Nation is an AI and all players are Pirates.

But this ... this is ... just worse.

Would you play chess without Queen? War is unfair, but is a game. If you want to have opponents to play with they should have same tools are you are.
Letting the community to decide in this case will prove nothing. The largest population will never see this as a problem, yet will be able to over vote the rest

Again,  for the ones wanting "fair"  football-like matches - Naval Action Elite is coming...

You can't reason with a British player. They are correct by default!

Brits have mabey 20% of server population but can't even generate hostility...

But the British captains are mighty they are in a deep sleep waiting for alliances to turn back on!!

Ah... my favourite troll is trolling again. ;-)

So you want to kill the tactical part of screening with invulnerable 1st rates going to pb? Noooooo. Oh my god, please noooooo. If you want this kind of game play Naval Action Elite, dude! But let the ones who can enjoy OW still enjoy it!

Sure! I dont care if i win or lose a war, i came here to have fun with my friends (and make new ones) not to destroy each other, its a game not a real life war.

Most of the people came here to have fun after a long day of work and relax with a great age of sailing game not to insult each other.

Then, the right thing to do, for the server community, is show them the exit door.

The path to achieve this is to one ported them. At the end, they wanted to kill our RvR capabilities.

This is BS also.  Really I am tired about this "I will kill you - I kill you first" garbage. Agreements were made and what we all should do is, getting over it,  remember that a community was able to bring some good spirit and start to fight some good fights afterwards. But no,  on the very same day we start to loose it all again.  Truly this one port crap is as helpfull than this melt-down insulting from the other side.

I personally cheer up the good will from both sides players that has permitted to settle this gentleman agreement.

I also willingly involve my true word (on behalf of the mentioned Spanish clans) to respect this agreement.

    Long live our community.

Not one day old mate.  Not one day you told us something about good will of both sides.  Than  Magallanes us talking about not existing exploits and Chakal16 and insulting in such a kind I really hope will lead to a ban in forums.

Really Celtiberofrog, you have guys in your pixel nation which will allways damage this community in such a sick way. No exploit will bring so much damage than this melt-down guys loosing it totally like eleven years old kids.

This is no solution mate. And if this is the kind of making solution you are up to, my willing to find one for both side ends right here.

Your definition of fair play...  Still laughing.

We don't want cancel PB, set both to 91% and let see if we can low hostilities. Its no a CM issue, is a PB mechanic disaster by the devs. They failed allowing this PB timers.

The British have done what they should, put the hostilities to 100%, but for a failure of the devs has happened this shit. Congratulations dear Devs.

I agree that going back for 90% would have been the better solution. Our advantage is that we "made it" to the two Battles and we "arranged it"without really making it. But now the maintanace is gone.  I don't know what else we can do than making the best out of the situation and having two good battles .

(Edition because of a little internet lag

  22. 41 minutes ago, Jorge said:

We have enought war supplies to low hostilities many times....and we can do it until 17:00 server time.

    Jorge,

I will try to make it as objektive as possible.

You have full first rate fleets.  So our only legal opportunity was about make you decide which port would be worth enough to bring your full fleet and hope which would only be half first.

So all effort was about fighting with you today about the hostility from 90% to bring you in a situation were to choose (or not if you have two full fleets).

So, yes the solution was not perfect but,  and this is my very personal option,  if you want us to choose one port and loose the other we also can cancel both because then you definitly will have a very big advantage. Because then all what was stratetic about was obsolet.

So just think about if two pb's with a little advantage would be a more gentlemanlike solution than asking us to surely loose in one battle and giving away Conquest Marks as a present in the other one.
