  2. Donjuan and other Captains Trying to find or prove evidence is sometimes quite hard. And also someone pointed out early it might simply not be the case. Here are some pointers to help. If you think you've being a victum of a BOT attack... do these steps Return to a port asap. Don't enegage in any other fight activity. Write down the event in as much detail as possible. Then retreive your BulletLog from your STEAM Library. If you don't know how, read my "Penetration Armor and Structure" guide on STEAM last section. Look through the event log and see if you see anything that sticks out... ie you fire fulll broadsides and all cannons completely miss while enemy fires at same time and he hits 100% with all 100% damage. This is the type of thing you are looking for. Also, probably you might notice a complete loss of ship control for 5 seconds before an engaement but in the battle screen. You may just put it down to a high ping spike. But also needs noting. I have other tools but cannot mention details as yet. But for the moment I hope this helps. NA needs a clean up before launch and players who use them don't realise the actual damage they are doing to the game as whole. let me know how you get on. Norfolk nChance

  4. Dev's, Captains, With the focus more on getting the new players into the game now. These two very simple and small changes will make the world of difference to his first few steps into an amazing game with a steep learning curve. Cost minimal, one programmer no more than a day's work… 1. The Resource called "Gold" change to "Gold Ore". If you do the same with Silver as well and you'll have all Ferrous and Non-Ferrous metals now aligned! Seriously though, hand on heart me included loads of players at the start are total confused between Gold his net asset value and Gold (exactly the same syntax) the resources. When I started you had Gold mines… What mine the Gold, Take Gold to SHOP sell it and get Gold back???? They look completely interchangeable. Just add "Ore" his first few hours experience will be improved. I Guarantee. 2. In SHOP window and Map Trader Tool list, change column headers from "Sell" and "Buy" to "BID" and "ASK". I've spent my entire adult life in the financial industry (a real banker wan…) and this is by far the most confusing aspect for people to understand. Ordinally I think the columns were displayed "BUY" and "SELL" then switched probably with all good intentions by a quick thinking Dev. Unfortunately for anyone looking at the screen for the first time it instinctively looks wrong and out of place. Think about when you change currency going on holiday… confusing right? The BID or BID Price is the best or highest price someone is willing to pay for a product. BUY is the action which hasn't taken place yet. Ask Price is the lowest price a seller is willing to offer or receive for his goods. Use BID and ASK. You as a player must Hit the bid or lift the ask price, straight forward. These two small changes don't seem that important, but dropping into a massive sandbox of an open world one's mind looks for familiar patterns objects, titles, areas to bring things quickly into a focus. The first few hours of gameplay are so important obviously. These two minor changes will stop the train wreck of Gold and bewilderment of shopping leading to unnecessary frustrations at the very early stages… keep up the good work Ink & Co Norfolk nChance
  5. One side effect I came across from stacking when reloading... was an induced explosion risk On Both Santi and L'O old builds, Improved mag access, powder monkey, rum rations. Officer Perk was Double Charge and Pirate Hunter. On a close quarters battle firing into the enemy from all sides. After the 3x round of broadsides your cannon catching fire or exploding probability increases extremely quickly. Add to the that, the number of cannons carried... boom... I like the stacking effects, both good and hidden... imo Norfolk.
  6. this Perk Idea would be great used with a better Smuggler Tag machanic(have stated before for change on PvE) The disguise, could be a graded talent like Basic to Exceptional or better still but more complex XP Trader points Norfolk
  7. Ink I was asked to check Officer Perk Carpeter Expert. Players thought some not all of this perk worked. This is not a perk I use and havent had time to look at it yet. I can see confusion maybe more the issue with this perk rather than anything wrong. Will test it this week. I mentioned it as it was just brought to my attention. Again i'll report back in due course. Pirarte Perk I think Elite92 maybe commenting on is a +0.5Knt Speed increase (not percentage), when a Nation flag is present. This Costs in Perk Points "6". Which seems extremely expensive. This compared to any other Battle Perk costsing 5 or 6 points... kind regards Norfolk.
  8. Elite92 Hahaha yeah i did assume the delay. I don't want to do the whole thing with about 8 tests or so... /o\ I think with the API not sure but the code line acts more like a named range not what actually happens. Not sure on this at all. Have also just heard that some of the Carpenter parts don't work. This is the Officer Perk not mod. I'll look at that also. thanks for the feedback will let you know Norfolk
  9. Elite92 Lineship master perk tested and all seems to be working L'O no mods or perks. Just Lineshipmaster +0.5kn and -2.5 seconds (absolute) Lower Deck 1-42-L reload time 71 seconds. So prediction 69.5 seconds Left Side 69.00 and Right 69.50seconds I assumed absolute as this is still the case in the API. But near enough rgds Norfolk.
  10. Elite92 Thank you for the update. I will be back in NA in a couple of days. I will re-test with an L'O 1-42-L to get the largest heaviest figures and report back. Excellent news if all working now. rgds Norfolk.
  11. Admin, elite92, I've also tested and commented on this several times and continue to field requests for my testing notes and dates. It is still broken on reload times. Speed is working correctly. Please explain and expand on your statement "ignore the descriptions in data files as they can be working together with other convoluted logics system you don't see." with an example. It works - is simply not a good enough answer. And one I wouldn't expect from Ink so step up Admin expand on your statement. Booleans logic basic cutter to 1-42-L on Lower deck L'Ocean.   12. Jean LaPointe, Great topic. I play mostly on the PvE server. I slightly disagree with the final comment by LeBoiteux, "PvE is not a priority for the NA Dev's". I just don't think they see it so black and white but my view only. However I do love the idea of a Perk "Agitator"..... that is inspired. Our clan likes to do EPIC RA fleeting which is great, having the BOT as the aggressor really would work adding depth and a new dimension. The demarcation lines between the Region's give not a Hotspot but more of a longer length of area. This with the Alliance voting system and aggression missioning in a region would tweak the BOT tension higher or lower. In turn helps the AI learning curve building up a real local knowledge base rather than a fixed historical prejudice prior to a cold start. This sounds absolutely perfect. It might be PvE... but that doesn't mean it should be safe, Player Versus Environment remember. That's one of the tasks of the rookie region solves (more care bear). However, LeBoiteux's last point comes front and centre if this is the type of idea we want. This BOT learning curve is no simple tweak, and will take time to develop. Which if I assume correctly the Dev's are short of. But if we got an officer Agitator perk first and quickly this could help flesh out the data learning that would come with time. Could this be done, a perk that would make the BOT attack? Is PvE not a priority for the Dev's? But wait a minute, don't we already have an in game tag that should do this already....? I've spoke about this several times before, and player reception seems high, but Dev's were completely opposed to it. The Smuggler Tag in PvE should allow the BOTs to attack players who use it. And players also can attack the tagged player. At the moment there is zero risk to anyone using it in PvE, it should be a risk that gives the reward. The reward immediately kills inflation and stops afk traders. This one small tiny tweak... no ROE no Double Ring drop in timer square root of pi. No Clan help... BTW I'd love to use the tag under this system. The BOT now as not a cold start, instant aggression in any area that is not fixed.... My last word, PvE stands for Player Versus Environment.   13. I don't agree with the increase in slots. Think if we have more slots we will just stack more un-used boats. My opinion. However I would like to see more warehouse space with the increase in core products. If possible rather than enlarging the warehouse further than a 3rd stage, allow a multiple of warehouses. Just to allow better stock management. Also limit multiples to just One chosen port, the main hub. Norfolk nChance
  14. A Must remain function, but with one tweak. PvE this is a must remain funtion, but with one tweak. The player gives up his PvE protection rights from other Players, but not the ai. This would give the PvE server a real massive boost in game play. Traders would need un-tagged escorts allowing for more OW battle interactions. It would be a real massive boost Norfolk nChance

  17. Hi Admin, you state "random" shouts. Rather than useful command? if either way will add alot to the atmosphere. I suggest a Dev buy a copy of Seamanship in the age of sail, John Harland. Page 15 most languages used in NA.... sails... and also phrases and replys back. if possible would suggest rather than random... use updates like men killed, how much water we've taken etc....   20. We our clan did a 12 player EPIC on PvE all worked fine. One minor ping spike, but nothing else. so looks good now. NnC

  23. I agree, the CMLs are all way too accurate. The Dev's have a nightmare choice of making it playable or too simulate... The Horizontal and Vertical Dispersio rates, is a great compramise. If you want more realism widen the two rates. No with Development costs on time and man power just the decision how far by how much... tough issue to solve NnC
