Server: Peace Ingame-name: NoShipSails4ever (mine, not of the bug report sender) Report: NAB-103542 Question: his question was mentioned in the report as he said, but for response reasons i will repeat it here with some additions It's regarding a bug report of a mate that didn't create a forum account so far. so i write for him here. it is related to a port raid that will happen after tomorrows maintenance (Tuspan). Back in this announcement it was written that only 2 poor / under-developed ports get raided per day. the port in question has 15 of 40 points used, so it's not really underdeveloped. https://forum.game-labs.net/topic/35149-seasonal-update-welcome-to-the-caribbean-part-2/ Question: Can you explain in more detail what makes a port count as poor and underdeveloped if 15 point investments seem to count as such? Is this a fixed way how it is counted or something relative like percentages depdning on maximum port point amount (or something else)? so far we thought that the raiders attack underdeveloped ports like 0 port point investments and if none of these are available going up to 1 point investments and such. do different investments have different value? port defense take one port point but don't seem to count as investment, as we had ports with full defense but still they got raided in the past have port bonuses or resources higher value in relation to their used port points?
  2. - is this also the same amount of ships / rank on the peace server? because this statement is set under "War Server" and not as info for both > if yes, how should the PvE playerbase defend against it? i don't think we get enough players together every time to defend against it > if no, what can we expect the fleet to be consisting of? so if I understand you correctly regarding the PvE Server 1. there is NO downside to all other players if whatever clan owns a specific Port (access, building rights etc...except taxes) 2. the only reason to capture it on Peace Server is Taxes 3. due to the reason that we can enter and build in any port, we also won't lose anything no matter which nation the port has right so far...or wrong? thanks in advance
  3. Hello fellow sailors, i just encountered another labour reset bug as it seems... It's widely know now, that you get a popup for it, that you labor hours get's a reset when you create a new character on another server. BUT why did it get reset when i just joined another server with an existing character (which just sat idle until now). "Birthday" is 5/6/2016 in my Info on the PvP One EU server a few minutes before that i was on the PvE Server that i was mainly active before and had nearly 1800 labor hours (which i did not spent) I also made a bug report via F11 ingame Cheers

Not only wipe related but also when you change nation...because I am lvl 50 craft...and when i want to change nations (talking about PvE here) because e.g i find some new mates to play with...why should i start from scratch again in terms of Blueprints? i am still a "master" crafter with lvl 50 and know all the stuff...
  5. and that would be another reason for me to stick to the PvE server... that way i don't have to look out for stupid gank fleets (because those guys can't handle fighting 1:1 mostly), and if i want to PvP i just join a small / large battle and get a mostly fair battle...which is what i want to do in PvP fights anyway EDIT: crew doesn't really become a strategic factor then... people will prolly just stick to 2nd and 3rds until they have only 1 dura left, sell the ship and start from before...no loss of crew that way

Well if that's the case that if i e.g. lose a santi and my crew is gone...and when it should be such a hassle to regain crew over time... i just build like 5 ships...like a snow, surprise, essex, bellona and vic / santi...(different crew levels depending on how much i have at that time) and just fit them for boarding and get all the crew i need by boarding NPC ships as players will just try to evade being boarded anyway... [sarcasm] hooray...another grind aspect and / or time sink[/sarcasm]

  9. Well if they wanted to sell it via the Store i guess you could figure it out yourself...except you so far prolly noone would buy it. And no clue why people didn't build you one IF you asked in chat for it. I prolly would have, as Fir and LiveOak are the only frames i use (liveoak for warships and fir for trader hunters and traders). But on the other hand...i only play one the PvE server. If i would want to PvP i'd just join a small battle
  10. Who cares if he is from your nation? For that reason i'd just build my shipyard in a free town. to meet up and trade there with other nations / pirates

Well maybe because you may offer 2x the price but 3 of the 5 things you want is up to random chance where noone can say "hey i guarantee that the ship will be xxx" when you build a ship you can set: quality: 1-4 craft notes (in rare cases other than the used amount of notes) wood type: fir / teak / oak / live oak 1st upgrade: build strength / planking / crew space / rigging quality but: 2nd Upgrade is random either: Speed OR Stiffness for gold ship perm. Upgrade Slots either: 2 OR 3 for gold ship normal Upgrade Slots either : 4 OR 5 that is why i wrote before, I give the option to either let the one who wants the ship give me: - a predefined price for the ship BEFORE it is build, because i don't want to sit on a ship that noone wants and that's to cheap for NPC - the crafted materials + notes and build them their ship for free then (which is mostly aprreciated, even when it doesn't get e.g. speed or 3/5)
  12. Well I don't pay for them. it's just always horrid to see when i'm back to capital and see such schizophrenic prices in note to ship relations. And i'm craft lvl 44 btw...the stuff i make for myself i also craft myself. and ships for others i only build on demand, mostly with the option at hand that they bring me their crafted stuff (so that i only have to build the ship) or charge fitting prices when i have to do everything by myself.

You already have that with the Rank system dude... i mean sure you can get the santissima of your friend and sail it in OW with you rank 1 40 crew...but try to do so in battle...LOADS of fun, rly [sarcasm] but hey, what did you have to do again get a rank up? RIGHT, go out and fight! And on the other hand being forced to play PvP or kill like 10 times the amount of NPCs just to sail a ship is pure nonsense anyway... Edit: the conecpt of the actual system works fine as it is now. It may only need some fine tuning but that comes over time, it's still an alpha anyway.
  15. It still makes no sense. Let those who want to craft and trade do what they like with the actual market and you can still go to pvp / hunt or whatever you like. As everyone else is doing now too WITH the actual crafting system. I do all of it actually. I mostly craft my stuff once or twice per day, depending on how much time I have, go for a trade run if needed which takes me 1 to several hours if i craft stuff for myself, and depending on how much stuff i need. If i just want to go out for a fight i just skip the trading to a point when i e.g. want to eat something and use my 2nd screen to watch videos / movies while the ships sails on OW to it's destination. + I sometimes don't even have to trade to craft ships for others, because I also offer the option that THEY who want ships from me, bring me all the necessary crafted materials + Crafting notes, so that i only need to craft the ship out of these materials. Saves me the time to to get the stuff and craft them + maybe have a ship that noone actually wants AND give the other person his share of craft XP and his ship (for free in my case, as i only take the ship XP as payment in such a case)
  16. i know that this isn't comparable, but i play on the PvE server anyway and all my statements were based on NPC battles. i know that leaks can occur very early, but they aren't critical as long as there aren't to many. that's what the pump is for anyway. i am and was never a friend of the stupid ganking that people tend to always do in every MMO with PvP aspects. that's why i don't inted to play on the PvP servers anyway. if i would want to pvp, i'd just join a small / large battle.
  17. that's why you should NOT shoot all the armor. if you shoot the side armor down on 1 side to 1 or 2 ticks it's not sinking . if you remove it completely, then it will, for sure. or maybe i am just always lucky enought not shoots as many leaks as needed to sink it. but i don't think so. believe me, i know what i am talking about...i am capping solo 3rds and Constis mostly when i go hunting with my trinco because it gives good xp...better then my missions at least.
  18. i think it would be a good idea if we could add players of other nations to our ingame friend list (regular trade customers etc.). if it should work already...then at least for me no pop up window comes... *edit: added poll Poll removed by mod team for being non-essential to the discussion.
  19. i actually see no real point in this...as someone else already stated...if you remove around 60% of the hull first, you mostly get the kill anyway when you board it then. i for my part most do the following: - shoot one sidearmor of the target-ship down to 1 or 2 ticks.. - load grapes and shoot down the crew to a level that i see fitting... - then i board the ship e.g. a 3rd (650 crew) with my trinco (with hammocks, crew space...around 350 crew) i shoot it down to around 250 crew and then board it.. i get the 500 kill xp + money (25k i think was it) + 12 to 14k dmg which is mostly around 400 to 500 xp and maybe 15k money +400 to 500 xp for killing the crew mostly around 1400 xp in total and around 40k gold

  21. Making them valuable is okay...but it makes no sense when people want like 50k per midgrade note...and want to buy ships like a golden frigate for 100k then...when you would at least spent 200k on notes + material costs for the ship...

Hello everyone, had anyone else the problem so far, that they e.g. like me play on PVE US Server...have X labor hours (in my case it was around 400 last time i checked them). i then logged out because i wanted to know if known blueprints of ships are actually also known on other servers, like craft level and rank. As i then saw when logging in to my profile (with other name) on the PvP Eu mirror, that is not the case, and i had 0 labor there on the server...i wasn't thinking more about it at that time... after that i changed back to the PvE server and saw that i had 0 labor there now too -.- which is acutally pretty annoying as an active ship builder when you remember that you get like 40 labor / hour and 400 is 10 hours wasted in that case
