  1. This is really the one single product that adds most to my enjoyment of the game. I'd literally be lost without it. It is always open and I'm always checking the shape of the coastlines - thanks very much! As my give back: it seems to me that I sail about 0.373 units/knot/minute. So a distance of 60 (3 grids) at average 12 knots would take me about 13.4 minutes.
  2. It sure would be nice if you could walk around the port and see the shipyards in service. I mean, those trees with ropes on them sticking out are kind of a dead giveaway
  3. I like Alexander Kent's long series, but he also writes under his own name as Douglas Reeman. In this guise he is one of my favorites (more modern naval stuff, mostly 20th century naval). Dudley Pope's Ramage series is another of my favorites (more Hollywood-ish - officer is a nobleman who gets to keep the core of his crew together from cutter to frigate), but I really like the characters and plots. If you like science fiction: 'Jon Williams' is the pen name of the big selling SciFi author "Walter Jon Williams" who wrote 5 sailing novels to start his career. (US privateers). And the Privateers and Gentleman / Heart of Oak sailing miniatures wargame rules.
  4. (Note: May be more than one guide pertaining to a topic.)
