  1. Lol the sad part is. Slamz is taking credit for something he had nothing to do with. more than half the power of their little early morning fleet were pirates.
  2. PVP2 here.. Mortimer isn't worth defending let alone even being near. Dunno why people think capitals are important. They most certainly are not.
  3. No other explanation other than some alt of someone. We do know there are a ton of US people with pirate alts. Likely just saw the opportunity and took it.
  4. Hey its their fault they didn't survive. Just like with all charges.. never be the first guy, and always try to angle your sides so you don't take shit tons of damage. Ended up with ~3500 Xp. At the end i had about 25-35% left on both sides. with the front and rear gone easily survivable. I especially enjoy knowing i sank Shifters with his fine live oak with exceptional mods.
  5. Number 2. I think the top 3 nations should be locked out by population.
  6. I really wish we'd of had our full crew. I'd say we only had 15 real fighters there between the Cerbs and the stupid scoundrel with the cutters. My 3rd rate got out safely after the battle . Got the credit for killing multiple 3rd rates too! 3400 Xp worth. So good fights all around IMHO. I'd really like them to remove the 1.5 minute leave mechanic though a lot more ships would of sunk then. Change it to like 5 minutes for port battles.
  7. @ Dickbeard If you organize you have something to offer. If you don't then you just flat don't have dick to offer. All we hear when people ask for help is "Help us because mortimer blah blah blah." There have been no plans, No reciprocation, No organization from the Bahamas. Even that newbro clan MQNS or whatever asked for help and we asked what would that give us... the answer was nothing. FC and SIN received help in the butthole of the map because they asked and had something to offer in return. You say i am treating you badly. Fine, but answer me this. What have you done to change the situation other than randomly asking for assistance with no plan of action or power to enforce it? Come to us with a plan and we'll be more than happy to make something work. Like for example what plan do you have for equipping 50 players with exceptional navybrig or mercs? Most crafters are in a race for the 3rd rate BP and tricoms.
  8. I just said what it would take. Not what our plans are. The brits have no interest in returning and the US would have to go through the brits to get here. I am not privy to the actual plans. I'm just saying we're pretty strong overall. Additionally you don't need allies if you pay attention. The brits and US will inevitably fight as they are doing in Mexico now. That offers opportunity. There are hardly any bahama pirates left really. The only ones that remain are the trolls under the bridge if you get my meaning. The french are a non issue. All you need to defend against them is 10-15 guys and they don't have enough to field 2 assault fleets. Even pugs could defend if necessary. Additionally even if we lost a port to them. They can't defend 2 at once so it'd be easy to take it back later. Also if you admire the french so much join them. Just promise me you wont come back when you figure out it isn't all sunshine and rainbows. Though they might be able to treat a solo player better than the Pirates can or will since they are smaller.
  9. Slamz... why do you assume the US are worth fighting? Have you ever considered the single best plan is to allow the brits and US to begin fighting in earnest first? keeping in mind that both of those nations are larger than the pirates. The only route to victory is through a multi-front war to even the numbers up. Not acknowledging that fact just shows your ignorance.
  10. We're pirates so i can't say the water is perfectly clear. Though there is a plan and our major goals all coincide. More importantly since we're only the 3rd largest nation we all know for a fact in order to survive we have to work together. Naturally the individual pirates won't know our plans for security reasons. If the defense of Aves and our territory last week was any indication. Any enemy would need to be able to field at least 5 assault fleets to overwhelm our ability to defend. In which case it would devolve into a battle of attrition like the French have done in perdenales. Basically the clans had out grown shallow water ports and left for deep water. Bahamas were lost due to lack of experienced fighters and organization. Regardless of how you want to phrase that the results are the same.
  11. They are newbro ports for missions. The strategic ports you refer to allow for perfect strike potential into our main areas. And/or they have resources the pirates need. Additionally they allow for you to "reinforce" through almost all of our territory. Why would we give up that advantage? Port alliance or no. We aren't under any delusions as to our ability to stop open world fights. Whereas if you wanted forward bases to begin an attack on the brits or even carve out a new chunk of land somewhere. We'd be more than happy to assist. It's just giving you "strategic" ports inside our territory isn't an option. If our positions were reversed. You'd say the same thing. If you want to look at it another way. What is to prevent the French from stabbing us in the back by allowing the US or Brits to take a french port as a jump off point to an invasion. Keeping in mind we can't defend these ports if they are owned by the French. The only way to prevent this possibility is to not allow enemy ports deep in our territory.
  12. Enough that it is enforceable. All of the major pirate clans are organized together. While your correct the individual pirate is left out in the cold. same with a lot of small clans. The simple fact is that the much more organized french (compared to the small fry pirates) can more than rebuff any attempt to retake those ports if the larger clans wanted to make a deal. Technically the same is true for every other nation as well. Its basically the same reason the Bahamas were lost. The larger more organized groups moved out on their own. Resulting in the individual less organized pirates to fend for themselves. Causing loss after loss. Or port battles that went undefended entirely.
  13. Must be nice to be large enough to have competition in your market place.
  14. Funny it doesn't look like we're destroying anything. Pirates are bigger stronger and more organized than ever before. While you are fewer, weaker and less effective. You can pat yourself on the back for attacking low hanging fruit that isn't smart enough not to accept a mission right next to a freeport filled with hostiles.
  15. What are you talking about... we own your newbro ports.
  16. Funny i've never seen you in one of CF's port battles. Also are you a solo player or do you represent a group? In either case if you want help you have to bring something to the table. Actually the only real port battles that have been lost. Were either last minute barely organized affairs, or run by the smaller clans that lack coordination and proper tactics command. That said the game is heavily in favor of defenders. 25v25 port battles unless massively outshipped in deep water. Will almost always favor the defender. Though that is how it should be IMHO.
  17. Wrong, the pirates he spat in the face of ARE the camp du roy pirates. The current pirates you guys fight weren't even around when this all started.
  18. Pirates by there very nature aren't a nation (even though we currently are mechanic wise). You demand help but offer nothing in return. Why should we care what you think? We carved out our own home. You can do that same. If you can't thats on you. Not us. Stop projecting your own problems onto us.
  19. The irony is that the french haven't even realized it yet. They still consider themselves "defending" the south. I got news for you. The south is pirate territory. Accept it. if you want to make a deal. Here is what it would take. We'll give you your newbro ports back around Fort Royal. We dont want them anyway. Then you make your new base west of the sweds in Danish territory. Your other option is to take Dutch territory. The 2 main pirate power blocks... you aren't getting a single port from them. Accept it and move on.
  20. The real reason Slamz is targeted is because of his complete lack of understanding about the initial group of players to moved east. We did it before the US started their war of aggression. The later pirates moved for the reason slamz described, but Slamz is basically saying that about all pirates which isn't true. Slamz is obviously still butt hurt about us taking over the camp du roy area. I think Slamz had designs on it and we forced you to look south. Were Slamz ran into FC and SIN. Then Slamz delude his own people into thinking the pirates weak and ignorant with bad leadership. Which once again isn't true. The french position today is proof of that. The ignorance and hate Slamz spews out of that hole he calls a mouth is why the french are being ground to dust at our leisure.
  21. I wont disagree with that... Though camp du roy area was over populated and we had multiple pirate clans wanting the south east. That all happened right at the start of the "great migration" of pirates. Plus the camp du roy pirates needed oak/iron/hemp badly. Still do honestly. The only real place to get that (all things considered) was south. Though things have somewhat changed. The danies are dead now. Technically their ports are open for the taking if someone wanted to grind them. Why not start there? Why can't we find common ground by working together to get you the ports you need to the north and working both our ways towards our real enemy waters? its an option anyway.
  22. Agreed. By definition the French and Pirates are natural allies with the way the map is setup. Success/population size/egos are all getting in the way. Though my personal opinion is that the french had no desire when this all started (before they knew the full extent of the pirate strength) to actually deal fairly with the pirates. Principally because the french considered the Camp Du Roy area theirs. Or at least IMHO they had designs on it. In a round about way i guess you could blame Crimson Flotilla for the current state of the map . We did start this mess by moving south east for kicks and giggles.
  23. No one actually does that though; or at the very least I've never seen/heard of it actually being done. Though it has been discussed as an option. Plus I personally consider it an exploit. The main reason is because ships are to expensive. For example our most advanced crafter is charging 13 crafting notes + 4 crafting notes and all parts to build a ship. Which is free crafting XP for him and 13 Cnote profit. Even the more reasonably priced ships normally have 50-100k markup over cost, and require the buyer to furnish Cnotes.
  24. We're rude to the Bahamas group because they were snobby assholes that said we were running. At the time that wasn't the case. We just wanted out of shallow ports and some place we could be pirates. Granted that idea completely turned on its head after the great migration. I wouldn't expect the current meta to remain the same for much longer. So instead of thinking of quitting just wait it out a bit longer and see what happens. Things are already shifting now that the US is hitting the brits in the west. I'm definitely not going to disagree with you about the mechanics to balance the nations needs to be addressed. I'm surprised that wasn't one of the first things they implemented. It's always the #1 problem with a faction based MMO.
  25. I don't disagree that the French have a method to gather resources. It just takes a lot of time and you're also feeding fewer players. It's highly scale dependent. Basically you can't build a fleet to take over the world, but you can keep your pvp fleets supplied. Though if the pirates would work more as a team. We could stranglehold what little you do get. One of the reasons the pirates need more resources is because the scale is so much larger. Even though we may have 10x the ship builders the french do. We still can't keep up with demand despite the additional resource ports. Partially because more people are hitting higher levels that virtually no crafter can build for yet and BPs are a bitch to get. 3rd rates come to mind as a prime example. So building an assault fleet good enough to take on the US or Brits is taking a ton of time. Eventually it'll work itself out if the devs give it time. When it does. You'll see a much wider difference in capabilities as every pirate would be in Exceptional ships. For now its worth noting that almost every pirate ship you see out there is still basic. Unless they are higher in rank and driving a lower ranked ship. This is especially true for frigs or below.
