  1. Really? A Spanish player is telling another nation that something "doesn't shine any good light on you." That's like a thief complaining that someone else is littering.
  2. Just last night we attacked Serrana and took it from the Danes in the 4-6 window. If that wasn't spearheading an attack with a 4-6 timer, then what is? Edit: As JCDC says, a lot of these 'exploits' (the ones that aren't really exploits) get used against the British, we just don't come here and scream about it.
  3. What's all this about a disappearing fleet? Can anyone elaborate? Regardless, sounds more like a server-side issue if large numbers of ships are vanishing. And why don't we keep this thread in line with its beginning, if you guys think you have a case against the evil, cheating British nation, take it to the tribunal. Frankly I think you're blowing a lot of hot air over nothing just to draw attention from what you and your Pirate masters have done.
  4. Yup, I've just been made aware on TS of who is doing what in this, this shitstorm over it is utterly absurd. I suppose the Russian alliance is fine with this kind of thing until it inconveniences them.
  5. I'm not sure why one clan going against the grain is even causing forum drama at all. A while back some British clans picked fights against the wishes of most of the other clans. A short time ago RAE went to war against Britain in breach of the peace agreed by the rest of their faction, then STARS did it too. Now Sweden does it and we have Herminator making a tribunal post wanting that clan forcibly switched to Pirate? Comical.
  6. There's a specific and correct meteorological term for that particular weather phenomenon, it's called G'Kar wind.
  7. We can't! A full day where the brewers at Brewers won't be brewing our Indian Tea for us. There'll be chaos on the streets of Kingston, anarchy will consume the empire within hours.
  8. Maybe they get into boats or cling to debris. One way or another they wouldn't simply sit and die. It's just a reasonably elegant way of leaving in fireships but making them function more realistically. I don't know about that, but being able to simply order hundreds of sailors to die for the sake of giving yourself a makeshift cruise missile is extremely silly.
  9. Okay, so presently survival is something you can toggle on/off, you can literally order your crew to sit there and burn to death or drown. Not exactly realistic. My proposal is as follows; survival mode can't be turned off. If your ship catches fire or springs leaks your crew will automatically go to work and resolve the emergency, not wanting to die and all that. However, I propose a new function, an "abandon ship" button. When pressed (and confirmed), your crew will start to drain away rapidly and survival functions are immediately disabled, when your crew reaches zero it'll function much as it does now, your ship just goes on sailing but you are 'dead'. Why am I proposing this? Well, fireships are a bit silly at present, behaving more like guided missiles than a real fireship. A real fireship would be ignited, set on a course and abandoned.
  10. Pirates having only advantages will ultimately kill this game if left as is. I disagree with the limitations proposed by this poll, but there's really no reason to go anything but Pirate right now, combine that with the fact that any national can freely switch to Pirate and the problem will only worsen.
  11. Indeed, I personally enjoyed the fighting greatly (also the huge profit from every battle ), but I fear for the future of Naval Action if this is consistently the pattern. Every time a few more players just won't come back at all.
  12. That you don't understand how comtemptable his statements were says more about you than me, though given your forum track record I can't say it's surprising. Get a bit of perspective, a real tragedy happened, real people play this game, given that we're on the EU server this one is a bit closer to home; then a few people don't just disagree (something that is entirely personal prerogative) with the proposed ceasefire, but moan and whine about how it "ruins the game" for them.
  13. Unfortunately most of the reason for the numbers changing (since Spain got pushed back to 5 ports they've in fact outnumbered us heavily on that front) is simply fatigue on the British end. It was a long and often hard-fought campaign, combine that with a ridiculous four-on-one war and player attendance drops dramatically. The absurdly time consuming nature of conquest right now is burning players out fast.
  14. While personally I don't subscribe to 'minute's silence' and other such gestures, I can respect that there are those who do. Unfortunately there are those with an open contempt for this, so deeply self-centred that they spew this sort of comment on global: Oh how terrible it must be to change the way you play a game for a single day. What a fucked up world we live in.
  15. Funny that, been in a fair few engagements with the Spanish, haven't seen much in the way of British ships sinking. Mostly Spanish ships shooting sails then running away. Maybe tell your boys to aim a little lower if they want to sink things Either way, bored of you lot and we have so many different enemies to pick from. Some of them even stand and fight
  16. The attempts to deflect attention away from the actual issue are cute. This thread is about the deliberate abuse of flag mechanics (ie. buying a flag locking out further flags from your own nation) to block a Pirate clan (FTS) from launching attacks on the Danish nation. This is the second occurrance of this exploit and it cannot continue unanswered by the devs, unless it is in fact the devs' standpoint that cheating and exploiting are officially permitted in this game. Oh and the notion that BigValco has a deal with the British is laughable. BigValco's 'thing' is that he and FTS are Pirates, you can't trust them as far as you can throw them and certainly can't trust them to adhere to an agreement.
  17. Actually we're not trying to get Kutai's account wiped. Voicing my opinion of him here would get my post moderated, but he hasn't actually broken any rules. You and Zombie on the other hand; wiping your accounts wouldn't be sufficient for this, I personally think both of your accounts should be perma-banned. You're a pair of cheaters and a ban is the only appropriate response.
  18. So, from that quote, FTS decided to attack the Danes, afterwards they came and talked to the British. Quite a large difference between that and organising it with the British. If you wanted to twist a quote, you probably shouldn't have actually posted a screenshot of said quote.
  19. Who do you think you're fooling exactly Kutai? These ports that had remained Danish since I don't even know when (read: ages) just happened to be part of a deal to flip as FTS begins to attack them? Sure they did. Did it just happen to be two players connected with the previous abuse of this exploit too? And you lot just happened to enjoy a good brag about how you're specifically working against FTS in chat afterwards? You're up to your necks in this and a pantomime display of innocence doesn't change anything except show that the Pirates wholeheartedly endorse such exploiting.
  20. This is the second time this exploit has been used to block an offensive flag. And this time it was used openly too, a flagrant display of exploitation not by an alt but two main accounts.
  21. I thought the Pirate players already had titles given to them by their Danish overlords.
  22. If Spain were capable of making sensible proposals then sticking to them, they'd still have the Gulf of Mexico, northern Yucatan and most of south Cuba. Regardless, now that they're Pirate/Danish puppets they don't have a choice in the matter, same as the French. Pirates/Danes say jump, they ask how high.
  23. That's the prideful, stubborn, self-destructive attitude that got your nation to its present situation. Inability to compromise, inability to take responsibility for your actions, inability to swallow your pride for your own good, massive sense of entitlement. If not for that immaturity you'd be in the same position the Swedes were, you'd have plenty of territory and be in the process of building up again. But yeah, fine, keep it up. You're not going to win ports like this. In fact all your stubbornness and forum vitriol does is affirm to the British nation at large that you were a faction that deserved crushing. I suppose maybe eventually your Pirate puppetmasters will come and bail you out. But we know how that ends, the first thing you did after Britain bailed you out against the Americans was to bite the hand that helped you. Then the Pirates you backstab will attack you too and, just like the Americans are now, we'll sit back, nod and say "we told you so". And you'll all be back to the forum screaming about the injustice of it all, how you'll fight to the end and how you're the victim.
  24. I suppose RAE aren't content with destroying the Spanish nation, now they want to destroy the French too. Looking at it from their perspective I can't say that wouldn't be fun, the only surprise is that anyone still holds any regard for them at all.
  25. A few misconceptions and silly ideas I'm seeing from the Spanish: 1) That they need to 'offer' something tangible at the negotiating table. Sweden was pushed back to one port, had nothing to offer, now they're doing fine and even going to war again. France was pushed back to nearly the same state, they got their territory back too and now want to be the next Spain. The only thing you need to offer for talks to go through is a united voice, because what we are sick of is the fact that your current disunity makes any peace agreement worth less than the paper it's written on. 2) That fighting to the end is somehow going to help you save face or stave off what is currently inevitable. Some of you are far too prideful, you're a small faction with small numbers and limited timezones. Some of your less intelligent clans have dragged you into wars with one superpower after another, thus draining your resources and numbers even further. It's as though there's a contempt for your fellow faction members, you deliberately maintain a war that harms nobody but them. 3) That the British nation somehow enjoys 'puppy kicking' or bullying smaller factions. We'd much rather be fighting the Russians, but do you know what we really don't like? Backstabbers. We hate being attacked in the back by a faction we agreed peace with less than a week ago, we hate seeing flags bought even as talks are scheduled to begin. 4) That you are 'entitled' to certain areas of territory. You're not entitled to Spain's historic holdings in this game, it just doesn't work that way. So when you come to the table during a war you're losing and demand 16 ports in return for peace, we just wonder whether you have any grip on reality whatsoever. The only thing you're arguably entitled to is the means to play Naval Action to the extent of its content, in other words an area to grind (ideally fairly safe), at least one source of each resource (courtesy of the new resource gathering system), a source of pvp. So maybe your next proposal for peace should be created out of pragmatism rather than pride.
