  1. Can bump up the requirement for this feature to a certain rate - like 5th rate or higher. If people want to leave 5th rates around to spot, let them, the response will be more targets for raiders.
  2. It would only warn you if the ambusher has sails up. People already AFK-trade, this actually hurts AFK traders by encouraging more people to ambush. Right now AMBUSHERS / RAIDERS stopped playing because keeping eyes glued to monitor is horrible - high effort, low result. Having the captain spend 24/7 on top of the mast is neither realistic, user-friendly, or contributing to PvP.
  3. Get the Captain off the Masts and back into the Cabin! (during wait times) Basic Feature: Button Toggle On/Off - Sends spotters to the Masts in Open-World. The spotters will report every Player-Ship that has Sails-Up within visible range. The report will have an Audio and Visual component, for example: "Enemy Ship Spotted!" (ding)(ding)(ding) - "Ally Ship Spotted!" (ding) Edit: Limited to 5th rates and above. This basic feature is critical to facilitate PvP in remote locations and ambush situations on the Open-World map, particularly when the server has a low-population. The basic version of this feature should be implemented ASAP, without delaying for more advanced versions. Examples of use: - Ambush - sail your ship to the ambush point, reduce sails to 0, turn on Sail Spotting. You can now step away from your PC until there is a chance for PvP happening. You don't have to keep scanning the horizon for the next minutes-hours. You will spot the enemy likely before they spot you because your sails are down. - Patrol - same as the above but while sailing somewhere, both you and anyone else with spotting will get a notification, resulting in a player interaction or PvP When close to an active port the feature can be turned off to avoid overload of notifications. Advanced Features: Not important right now. Could add extra features from a perk or improve the detail of scouting orders. Could add items and skills that improve range and detail of information. This was suggested in more elaborate ways many times in the past - I believe that when some servers are near-dead this feature is CRITICAL to keep OW alive. Many people log-off simply because it's too much of a hassle to find others in the OW. More Ambushes, more Patrols, more PvP = More people playing over time.
  4. 1. You're not the judge, you don't decide what is against the rules. 2. If you feel someone exploited in the past, you should have reported the exploit. People don't like to report exploits, it has a cost in reputation. 3. The punishment is necessary to provide a deterrent and stop the exploit from being used. It may be sufficient to warn on first offense, with a clear promise to ban on the next. 4. People who admit to the accusation and promise to refrain from further abuse clearly don't need to be punished. If the moderators confirm that this is an exploit that needs to be removed from the game, you will see a quick shift towards "promise to refrain" among anyone who ever considered using this exploit.
  5. I will be satisfied with a warning in this case and a publication specifically removing this method from everyone's arsenal by the moderators as in other cases.
  6. Welcome to the Pirates VCO. It's going to be interesting to work with past enemies. Perhaps everyone should be joining the Pirates or GB until the server population increases. I would crop the entire outside ring of the map and keep it only the central islands and bahamas.
  7. This is a case of Tenet & Chasers listed in Screenshots vs. Lionshaft and Fearson from [NPG] and Francau and St0nkingByte from [CKA]. People who are not accused, witnesses or participants must be excluded from the thread. Please move any debates to Suggestions. Please Delete all posts not related to this case, starting from the one by Sir Texas Sir and ending with this one. Thank you. --- This is not possible because the join circles can be oriented in such a way that the joining ships have no chance to maintain tags on ships on the other side. Actually look at the video and screenshots - joining on the different sides and splitting forces does not maintain the chase distance that existed right before the tag, the exploit magically separates the forces and creates another cycle of invisibility and super speed. Please refresh your memory. Tribunal banned the account that kept a PB fleet out of OW Combat. Not-firing is just further evidence of collusion in this case. This is also not a case with a single battle - there were multiple battles with the same participants exploiting the same method. It is absolutely NOT the same as Pirate vs. Pirate. Everyone involved should know that Pirate vs. Pirate creates a MUCH DIFFERENT BATTLE INSTANCE with ONE join circle and ships joining shortly after it's creation (chasers) will spawn positionally, much closer to their target, with everyone Red / Free for All. Pirate vs. Pirate (Free for All) instance would have resulted in this chase ending on the first tag, and would not delay or provide magical spawn distance increase like a Nation1 vs Nation2 instance.
  8. Lionshaft, Fearson from [NPG] and Francau and St0nkingByte [CKA] enagaged in multiple fake battles, tagging each other in a way to disperse the join tags and prevent Pirate chasers that were closing in from being able to tag them and keep them in battle. This happened multiple times. No sail shots were exchanged between the US and GB players - every battle was entirely fake. Video courtesy of Wraith: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1YcjmOYKYzA Screenshots from the different battles: Another battle with the same method: In this screenshot Lionshaft is attempting to provoke Green on Green by exploiting tag system: Next screenshot - Global Chat with Lionshaft trying to claim Green on Green and admitting guilt: Notice the line: 22:04 Tenet: Lionshaft is exploiting green on green and will get banned 22:05 Tenet: Screenshot all Green on Green fake battles 22:05 Lionshaft: you mean how pirates are allowed to attack each other to get away? This is admission of guilt. 1. This is proof that Lionshaft and the above mentioned NPG and CKA members engaged in fake battles, claiming they are the same as Pirate vs. Pirate, to "attack each other to get away". 2. They pretending to not know that Pirate vs. Pirate creates a single-join-circle with no teams, everyone red and joining within firing range - this is done to create a false-equivalence and moral superiority to justify exploiting 3. Lionshaft, NPG and CKA members oriented their ships in such a way that join circles were too far to catch anyone by joining either side. This further proves that they exploited the tagging mechanic specifically to prevent actual combat from occurring, and further proves intent. 4. Server logs should prove that each battle contained no shots fired between NPG (US) and CKA (GB), despite them being in range at start of fighting - confirming it was done to exploit mechanics to prevent combat. Past tribunal decisions showed that using different nations to engage in Fake Battles to prevent OW Combat is a bannable offence. I hope to see consistency in the application of that precedent - with punishments to discourage further use of this exploit in OW. Lionshaft in particular admitted to those battles being fake and should be punished.
  9. In your imaginary world that is true, but in reality you are cowards and were worried about the 16v25 battle that BLACK had a chance of winning. Why would they have a chance? Because it would be a Brawl, and you lose Brawls. You win by running. When you run inside a PB, the other side wins and gets a winning screenshot of you running. So you never PB, because you always run - unless you have overwhelming odds, the wind, and numbers. There was a -very- high chance that your 25 -ship fleet would have beat BLACK/BLOOD in that PB, particularly because Koltes and other BLACK members really wanted to fight. Instead you wanted MORE advantages, you wanted us to walk into the most blatant trap. You wanted to encircle 25 vs 16 in the open, with no time limits or objectives, gain the wind with faster ships, and demast our fleet while dodging the actual brawl until the last moments of the match. It's foolish to even consider playing into that game. You get NOTHING. Your trash talk is worthless. France is the Charlie Zelenoff of this server. Go club more seals with KoC and "kill the server" - his now openly claimed objective. p.s. Link to the actual discussion:
  10. No, level does not affect LH/Hour. Level only affects Maximum LH stored. Pretty sure I can store above 1400 now, but production is not that high. The only way to increase it is by taking a special perk, not an option for PvPers.
  11. Fixed that for you. 900 LH/Day without perks wasted.
  12. I appreciate actually reading a French NA raider saying this and not the denials I heard in the other threads.
  13. Why do you run back into port and come out in heavier ships? We can keep asking silly questions all day. The server health debate has been derailed and I have started it in a more fitting place.
  14. I'm not complaining that they are unfair - I'm complaining that you can defensive tag an AI fleet and literally disappear in front of me by magic and emerge with invisibility from that non-battle. This incentivizes the attackers to gank and provides no incentive for patrols or defending. So the best players stay mostly safe, or get baited and ganked. The majority of the victims are the less organized players, the ones most vulnerable and likely to quit. We're both driven to hunt the worst players of each Nation, and drive them out of the game. The Predators cannot survive without their prey. We do not control such incentives and mechanics - Developers control them directly.
  15. Developers decide what people do by the risk vs. reward they set up. Developers made chasing in OW PvP too boring and futile (Defensive AI tags + Super Speed/Invis from AI tags is a bad combo). People choose to gank in OW using fake battles - every side in this conflict does it, even the mods get dragged into it against their will. Developers made RvR the only battle where win/lose depends on staying in a fixed position and fighting. I don't choose RvR more than OW PvP on a whim, I am pushed into it by game mechanics. You wouldn't understand. You want to defend Developers for supporting your gank style play.
  16. Damn, you are right. It would take a crazy person to ruin their reputation low enough to disrupt such a battle, but we still have a few of those around. :/
  17. You don't need green on green - you need two Pirates to open a Pirate vs. Pirate battle, which results in FFA ruleset and positional spawn. The basic cutters for the people opening the fight and any streamers can then sail away and use Freecam to record.
  18. False - Pirates and Danes have to rely on AI-Fleets if you don't show up to the OW Defense. We can start grinding at 8pm EST and not see a fleet for several hours and just idle there. When you don't come out to defend, we have no chance to get hostility either way through PvP. You don't like people accidentally or intentionally giving you the same time? Why didn't you show up and disrupt a day before? You can hate Pirates or BLACK all you want and do that on any other thread, but attempting to derail "Server Health" into an accusation against Pirates is ridiculous considering every single problem you list -everyone- on the server has to face. DEVELOPERS DECIDED TO MAKE THE GAME INTO A JOB. When we waste any time attacking each other on this forum instead of discussing the main problem we're not making any progress. Allowing the developers to hide behind this new "you all get bored" excuse is a betrayal of the potential of the sandbox Naval Action game.
  19. You never showed up to the OW during hostility grind OR PB regardless of the time. By not showing up to hostility grind and attempting to prevent the buildup, you avoided your precious OW PvP -and- ensured PB times will depend on AI fleets = unpredictable and bad. Side note - a Month passes after your first Trinidad Port Battle against the Dutch. How come you now have LESS ships than before?! Excuses. If you want to cry about bad PB timers, blame developers, not a mostly North American clan. Your attack on [BLACK] is the actual OFF TOPIC. This thread is called Server Health. DEVELOPERS DECIDED TO MAKE THE GAME INTO A JOB. Ignoring this problem is guaranteeing the game will fail.
  20. STOP LYING ABOUT WHY THIS GAME IS FAILING. THE REASONS ARE RIGHT THERE ON THE SURFACE: DEVELOPERS DECIDED TO MAKE THE GAME INTO A JOB.
  21. If store bought is an issue you can make them custom with Crew Space to be equal. LGV is a fairly cool idea because of the open slots - equalizes the field quite a bit more. LGV do not all come from Fir - some of them are plain Fir, some Oak, and maybe other woods.
  22. You need to have a person with significant reputation collect the Fees and record participants.
  23. "French want to fight in OW" is an illusion. Your first instinct is to run and defensive tag an AI fleet whenever you don't have a decisive advantage, bringing the battle as close as possible to your "home port" so you can switch to heavier ships or regain some other clear advantage. There is nothing inherently wrong with such tactics except the pretence of moral superiority and the mental masturbation on Global chat. There is also a very clear contradiction between the "this is how France wants to play the game", the free port culture, and the multi-page bitching whenever you stand to lose a port. If dots don't mean a thing, then why are some claiming that the Danes are trying to "subjugate" anyone? Why is the other long thread on this forum revolve entirely around Dutch and Swedes cycling a dot a few days earlier than French preferred? Where's the Pearl Harbor if it's just a blue dot? I was on the sidelines of the ICS / Danes debacle, and saw how toxic the rest of France was on this issue - you could have ended the conflict by asking ICS to apologize and pay a fine. Instead you worked persistently to kill them off entirely in France. You trolled them into pointless arguments and proceeded to push them out of the nation, calling them a PvE clan despite their RvR and group PvP activity - simply because their play style was more about nation building and training recruits instead of roaming and ganking. You cut off your right hand because it wasn't identical to your left. You wanted several days of warning from the Danes, where were your several days of warning to the Pirates? Where was the wardec? P.S. Is it true that a certain individual actually used Racial slurs against Chinese players on Global or Nation chat? I have the information second-hand.
  24. Just noticed your winning video. The fact that you captured it makes it so much more useful - will be showing your video to every rookie and returning veteran that needs to start up their economy. Well done!
  25. If the "highest income" trade goods are moved away from main capital and into the regions, with comparable prices, I have no problem with your adjustment.
