  1. I very much like the idea. Especially do I (as a free, clanless player) like it because that system will force so called Clan "High Councils" to climb off their high thrones. Now a nation has to work together as a whole and include all players (of the levels who can vote) to decide on who to ally with. Even though I can already see new drama coming up, when some Nation's so called "councils" still believe to themselves that they have any kind of nationwide legitimation and will attempt to pressure voters of their nation to vote in their will, they will soon realize that with this new mechanic, there is no pressuring and every member, in a clan or not, is free to vote as they wish. Sure, councils still come at use to gather nation's clans and discuss mutual interests, and thats actually what I really see the use of a "council" for, but they can no longer (attempt to) force or ignore clanless players, as these have a voice now, too. I basically would compare "before and after" that way: While autocracy before (no mechanic was in place and thus clan elected councils could "force" a nation to act after their will - which caused a lot of drama), with the new mechanic it will be democray with a "parliament" where the voters are delegates and this makes the entire nation having to work together, in a clan or not, PVE or PVP player, trader or warrior, hardcore or casual player. @devs: While I type this, I had a funny idea. Why not restricting the voting page to the nation's capital screen, so that you can only do your vote or see the information when docking at your capital, where the parliament is! Would be funny.
  2. You're most welcome ma'am! Lets hope the devs read it, it shouldn't be too hard to implement but enhance the game a lot
  3. Hello sir, it isn't even that much of an awesome idea, just that the current one is too simple by only featuring "N, NE, SW, etc." instead of numbers, like any other RL compass. Numbers would make it much easier to judge exact headings, compare with a rl compass (on web or paper charts) and one could communicate courses much easier than saying "NE 1 1/2 click E" or such. One could just say "134°"... So my "awesome idea" is simply to turn the current compass into one with numbers instead of only the direction letters.
  4. It would be funny if your crew would start hopping off board, if your ship is on fire but you don't use survival mode, or say when you go into fire shock.
  5. Nice war, guys! Now lets settle things down a bit on both sides, a good war needs a good peace! ...That is after you have evacuated and given back Blanq and St. George's...
  6. Bump... thanks for any reply from mods, admins, devs in the "support" forum. very interesting. :-(
  7. Push... I really would love for a dev, or a modder who knows, to reply here to help me how I can find the files that contain the graphics for the UI, so I can change the graphics of my compass to ° bearings :-)
  8. "A" next patch or "The" next patch? :-) I am happy to hear it is being addressed, as I actually loved the reno, and I'm eager to buy one again once the bug has been fixed.
  9. Uff. So glad I'm NOT the only one with this! And yeah figured that way with the aiming mode but meh that can't be the solution, I'm a "1st person sailor" and this is not sailable like that. Bluntly, I will probably now resell my reno and keep my surp, where I hear it has been reported multiple times for a long time and, obviously, nothing has happened, yet. To me, I can't sail that way and since it's only the reno... sighs.. I'll toss it away now. Wish they would address this issue asap, I find that a major bug. Thanks for the replies, guys!
  10. I discovered a weird and super annoying bug, leaving my brand new purchased Renomee basically more or less useless: Whenever I zoom full in to sail in "1st Person view", my view begins to flip around and zoom back out up to behind the rudder or flip downwards onto the men at the cannons. I can't get it to properly zoom in and stay, like with all the other ships. I'm not able to take a video and a screenshot obviously wouldn't show the issue, so I''m hoping this is enough info, if not, feel free to reply or PM me.
  11. And there is the problem... Unfortunately, copyright law does not say "When the party you attempt to ask for permission does not reply, it automatically means they said yes". :-) So technically you still don't have permission to use it and I guess could thus get in trouble with the forum owners here or CA. However.. could... could... as I tend to agree with you guys and will probably take the risk myself and put my German version + sounds here as well. About the AD tapping: You can make midships command much easier! I simply used not double-issue A or D to turn until I stop, but I used the VA function "press and hold" A or D! Then I have the extra command "MIDHIPS!" to my first mate, and that command basically just contains "release A and release D". :-) That way I will turn for as long as I want until I shout "MIDSHIPS!" and yet I don't have the double tap issue! :-) Regarding the sail position: Please please make that! I don't fully understand it and haven't played with VA that much yet, but I would love that function in to call out for every single sail! I have done that already with the "depower" command already, when I say the German word for it - "Stagsegel reffen!" it drops it - depowers, and vice versa with "Stagsegel setzen!".
  12. That is a point, but then - there is always a way for someone to abuse a mechanic. Now to find a middle ground, the amount of contracts per town could be limited, for instances. But map-wide restricting the amount of contracts to 5 is way too much and hinders tradesmen a lot.
  13. Dear devs, I couldn't find it mentioned anywhere yet, so I will do: I strongly encourage you to please change the existing limit for the amount of contracts a user can have at the same time. Being a trader with multiple trading routes it is super annoying to be limited to only 5 contracts at a time. Plus I don't see any solid reason why this limit is necessary anyway, nor is it realistic. Why can't we just have an unlimited amount of contracts used, so that we can simplify our trading network a bit... I mean it's realistic as well, why should I only be able to hire 5 local merchants at once to buy or sell goods for me for the fee at a town... Who cares if I hire 5 people at the same time or can afford to hire 50. Please, devs, please raise the limit or, even better, remove it completely!
