  1. Will there be a curve for the crew price? first 100 for x amount, the next 100 for more, ect? That would make it more expensive to replenish crew for larger ships, but less for for smaller ones, which (in theory) would make smaller ships more practical. Tbh, I don't really like the idea of having to pay for crew, and it seems like another time sink, but I'm willing to test it before I make up my mind about it.
  2. At this point, I think that the developers are more concerned with building the core of the game, but I do agree that a bit of a tutorial would be nice when starting off.
  3. I've been getting this too. I haven't changed my settings, but it seemed to have started only after the last patch
  4. Yeah the grind isn't too bad. Moved from PVP2 to PVP1 and just hunted lynxes int the basic cutter. God get 12lb carronades and grape them, and in like an hour, I had some 70k

    Naval Art

I draw a bit in my free time. I've been fascinated by the sea and ships for as long as I can remember, and ships are one of the few things that I can draw reasonably well, so I thought I might post a pic or two of some of the things I've drawn on here.
  6. I have an old RC schooner that I'm trying to make seaworthy Don't have any pics, but its the Emma C Berry kit
  7. I'm pretty sure that the mortar brig can't hit naval targets with the mortar. When I tried, I didn't see any splashes or any hits when targeting ships so...
  8. I know that this is still an alpha, and I understand that this is an online MMO, but I personally feel that the game would benefit from an offline battle mode against the AI, similar to what Sea trials was, but with AI. I know that there are the large and small battle options, but sometimes it would be helpful to be able to craft your own scenario and practice. Also, since the practice is against AI, it would be nice to have offline support for it for those times when I'm not at home. I know that the AI probably needs some further improvements before this could work well, seeing that the AI is currently quite prone to sailing drunk, but I just feel like this would be a nice feature to have. Also, this wouldn't have to be limited to offline only, and could serve as a good training mode or just fun against AI with friends. Ideally, it wouldn't affect OW at all, but just be a separate option in the menu.
  9. Aha found it. Thank you gentlemen
  10. This ^^^^ I would love to see an offline function similar to the Total War's Play Battles. Somewhere you can choose your own ship and allies and enemies and just practice or have fun, but wouldn't have any effect on your character progress. Aka you can command ships above your OW rank, have fleets of AI or other players, and battle other players/ AI in a practice match, almost like how NA was before OW. And of course, with offline support so I can practice for those times when I don't have internet access.
  11. I have both a snow and a mercury. Based on my own playing style, I still prefer the snow, even though the mercury is arguably a better ship. Basically, it comes down to how you play the game. If you participate mostly in line battles, the mercury is a better broadside ship, but the snow with its chasers really help when chasing merchants. A navy brig is kind of an in between, but I would still stick with the snow. Oh, and I forgot to mention, I have long 6s on the broadsides and longs for the chasers. While I find that carronades do a bit more damage close in, their range is abysmal, and chasing traders it helps to have range to chain them.
  12. Might just be a stupid question, but what's the folder for in game screenshots? I have been looking around and can't seem to find a folder. Thanks
