Yeah, I know, the Constitution, or the rank / crew system needs to be reworked as it does not fit any rank / crew capacity at the moment, that a larger ship (3rd rate) doesn't already fill. Captain in the USA gives you 78% crew, and the next rank gives you enough for the 3rd rate. I still feel, that that 80% crew marker is the marker to have. The new crew system for the next content patch kind of sounds like it will address the issue by in large, though it remains to be seen until that patch actually hits. As it is now you go from ~350 crew to ~650 crew, completely skipping the conny with your ranks.

I try to record all my interesting fights. I need to figure out how to not record my teamspeak anymore though. Which is why I did not record a good fight today unfortunately. Once I have that figured out though I will be recording more and more of these fights, as I think they are a great deal of fun. I love that we can joke around in open chat during the fight, and there's not a lot of name calling or childish things going on there. That has got to be my fave thing about fighting the Brits, they are FUN to fight, win or lose.

Yeah I concur, both sides have done it, and it erases the tactics based on the guns / armor. I was 80% crewed in the conny for this fight, and I feel like that is an acceptable number for the system. That way you dont have people with 150 crew sailing a 3rd rate that needs 650 haha. Cuyo was fun as it was intended to be an ambush on behalf of the USA, hopefully it felt that way. Just got done in Cazumil and it was a great fight also. I enjoy the good sports that the Brits field, there's always a friendly laughing conversation about the battle after the fight.

I am not mad at the loss of the battle, you win some, you lose some. The mechanic works both ways, and yes they might not reload that quickly, and they might have trouble turning but in a fleet line battle that doesn't matter as much when the opposition is using properly crewed ships that don't have the fire power to knock down the armor of a 20% crewed 3rd rate. The penalties for undercrewing gets negated in a 25 vs 25 port battle.

Good job! Just to comment on the timer issue though, often times It is 2 - 4 AM my time when we have been doing these port battles and I live in Florida.

Oh fantastic! I am not upset that it happened haha, it resulted in a fantastic fight! Just that we didn't have the fire power to deal with that much armor lol, and it kinda defeats the purpose of the crew mechanics. I hope that the suggestion doesn't sound like a whine, it's really a balance issue in my opinion. These certainly have been the most fun fights yet, even if I lost my conny last night.

With the present mechanics of port battles people have been taking advantage of the present ability to undercrewing powerful ships in order to win the fight. My suggestion is to not entirely get rid of the ability to undercrew a ship but rather to limit the point of which you can. Instead of being able to sail a 3rd rate (or what ever ship) at any % of crew, I feel and suggest that you should only be able to sail a ship that you can crew to at least 80% This would eliminate the present problem of people farming large ships and crewing them at 20% in order to win a port battle simply by the size of their ships.

A great fight between the Brits and USA last night in Conttoy. As always it was a great pleasure to fight the Brits, and I look forward to future encounters. The US in this fight were out weighed in ship class, which brings me to make a suggestion to the game, I feel that you should not be able to sail a ship that you can not crew to at least 80% Still though it was a fun fight, and as the saying goes, you win some and you lose some. Tampa is a fantastic city for this, you could easily hop over to orlando for the tourist traps, and you could go to sea from here easily.

Yeah haha, sadly I stopped recording the fight before that explosion as I figured I wouldnt have gotten over to that side to join that part of the battle before it was over. I didn't think there would be much left in the way of interesting combat by that point and figured the rest would just be chasing down people that were trying to leave the fight. I was glad to have been wrong there! I will have to keep the recording going next time in case something cool like that happens again. When we were sandwiching that poor cerb, you, there at one point, a ren came in out of no where and was on fire and I was like oh crap oh crap! It was a lot of fun, and I look forward to future engagements with the British, thank you all for being good sports, and for the battle.

What's with all the hate and trash talk? I posted a video here of an outnumbered USA fleet fighting a large Spanish fleet. They sank one of ours, we sank a few of theirs, it was a good and fun fight. They had rens, cerberuses, we had surprises, they are the same class of ship. Plus they had niagaras and snows, also decent ships. They just got out maneuvered, and ended up running as a result. You come here and post gank kills, anyone can gank kill, they are simple, easy, and pose no challenge. Do what I did, film a fight where you are out numbered and win. Then come boast. Still don't understand the Spanish, all you guys do is complain, you complain when we fight you, you complain when we don't fight you, you complain when we do PVE, make up your minds.

Exactly. I don't post the battles where the fight was heavily in my favor. Hell I don't even record those fights, they aren't interesting to watch, they aren't interesting to talk about as it is usually 20 - 30 minutes of chasing, until you finally catch up and then a contestless fight. I encourage you to show your victories with even, or outnumbered fights. I will be showing my losses that are good fights as well, who cares, you win some, you lose some, but a good fight is a good fight, and the video shown here was a fun and good fight.

I don't see where the complaint is coming from with the fight that I recorded here? A ren and Surprise are in the same weight class, and crew class of ships. With the ren having superior armor, speed, and maneuverability compared to the surprise with heavier fire power. Both sitting at the 240 crew marker. It is not the US fault that the rens negated their advantages by getting surrounded by their own ships. Yes you demasted and sank one of our ships, and demasted another two, that's fantastic work! At the end of the day though you still had us out numbered, even double the numbers at some points in the fight. We often call out Spanish "cowardice" because every battle that I have been in with the spanish has generally been the same, it's an out numbered US fleet against many. The moment that the battle becomes equal the Spanish begin their retreat. In the battle featured on my youtube channel here, the moment that we out maneuvered this force, they ran. It really could have turned out a lot differently had the rens taken advantage of their advantages, and we could have been encircled and cut to pieces. The snows, and Niagaras are good ships, you can see how fast my armor was getting melted under concentrated fire power and I was the heaviest ship in the entire battle. At the end of the day, it was a fun fight, and I am glad that this group of Spanish players fought it out for as long as they did. I can only speak for myself, and can only show my side of a fight in video.

I think they had like one or two ships in a screen fleet outside, but a couple of our guys had snagged them up, which allowed us to get defenders in. I only saw one USA vs Pirate battle outside of the port battle as I was coming in to port. It was an extremely close fight, and near the end they capped the last tower, turning its guns against us, which is why we fled to the south to get out of range of it. It was pretty late night for us, or me at least, somewhere around midnight / one AM or so. I sailed from Cabo to get there in time, and the fastest ship I had to use was a basic cutter to get there in time lol. Still though, I really appreciate the fight the pirates put up. They did extremely well and I hope that they had as much fun as we did, and got good exp and gold out of it too.
