  1. Easy solution: If you win a PB, ontop of receiving that nice mail, you should also get a redeemable paint chest. Those should be worth any risk taken by the players that participated
  2. yeah that would be perfect for me so i can keep all my op gold hunting ships. a problem with that regarding a equal start i see not at all ;D
  3. If DLC ships where redeemable once a month it would be ok, but every day? doesnt feel right.
  4. Lost a Santi once to two Hercs. I demasted them a few times but was not able to get back to them fast enough to sink them. Also their masts hitbox is very thinn and hard to hit. They graped my crew down so i would not had any chance in boarding due to low morale, then simply hugged the side an removed my 13k hitpoints plus structure without me beeing able to even hit them
  5. this should be in the support section, it might also help to link the @admin
  6. this one looks familiar... nice pictures man, what a beauty
  7. I think they are germans, fought them yesterday. After sinking them, one said "gratz" wich is a common german shortcut for "congratulations". Maybe you can reach them in their language? No idea wich Nation they actually play for, all i know is that they are no cowards. They sat next to my Trinc with 3 SOL's and one Requin waiting for the obviously incoming gank to happen
  8. I like it apart from the neutral trader thing. Maybe reduced pvp reward for neutrals? And instead of voting for an alliance id like to vote for a King. he can change the diplomatic status at will, with the change being active after next restart. Edit: Alliances would be bad for me since i like to attack what i can find, but i think it would add more depth to the game. And for example, we are not fighting with Danes and Poles that often so i would not mind to ally with them to give more options to Pve'ers and Traders.
  9. The victors nation would be fine, you can use the find player tool to see that anyway, as for the ship, that would go to far in my oppinion, it would punish the victor by letting enemys know not only his location but also wich ship to take to hunt and kill him.
  10. Shouldnt SOL's have a bigger cargo aswell? Seems hilarious to me that a tiny 6th or 5th rate with a weight of 500 tons can carry more then a 5000 ton SOL
  11. nice btw, i believe i got another fireship vic somewhere for you
  12. i think rng bulding is better because it fills up shops and increaces the variety of ships. also makes very good ships more valuable. also i think a standard blue ship is perfectly siuted to sink a gold ship, its more up to the captain who sails it.
  13. Report Crash: NAS-1050789 Connection Test: NAS-1050795 i could play for about one hour after the patch, then got issues
  14. i could go on and mention all her stats that make her great for certain tasks... but look at her, what a beauty
  15. This would slow your travel down. Example: The lead ship is an Aggamennon and i set my Ingermanland to follow, given the same ship speed, bacause of different sailing profiles, i would be faster downwind while that agga would be faster on angles against the wind or with beam reach. So the leadship would have to reduce its speed from time to time to not make me fall behind. Without the follow thing, you can compansate this by sailing ahead when the wind is better for you and be catched up when it isnt. And this example is with the ships of the same rate and the same basic speed, would be even worse with mixed fleets.
  16. Ihr habt angegriffen und verloren, nun seids Salty. ich kann nichts beleidigendes in dem Screenshot sehen, vll kannst du den part mal hervorheben?
  17. i encountered him doing the same thing, i was like: wtf? until i saw this post:
  18. I agree with van der Decken on this. When we do some open world ai fleets, i'll allways issue this advice: Dont focus fire so you get assists or kills for all the ships and dont sink what you cant loot. Works pretty well. However the looting might need rework anyway, because of patrol zone fights. Sometimes players leave the zone on purpose, to denie the loot, sometimes he dies close to the circle and you cant loot immediately bacause hes got friends and it would be suicide for some reason, then the circle shrinks and the loot is gone. Or like in that fight we had yesterday @Anolytic, where suddenly we had 4 lineships die outside the zone in the same moment ;D. Where your mates able to collect all that loot? I really think they could improve zone fight loot mechanic somehow.
  19. guys, since this exploit can be the difference between life or death and can inflict great losses, solely based upon the difference of knowledge about it - it may be one of the biggest faults in the game right now. name me one other exploit that can be used like this. Ai sailing through land seems to be hilariously banal in comparison. hell, even heat-seeking musket ball is not as bad.
  20. Overhead UAV is one thing this is another. The Master and Commander movie teached me that is not uncommon for ships in this period to send partys ashore to collect fruit, water and maybe some exotic women, and once on land, why not climb a hill and look whats on the other side? the uav can simulate that. theres nothing interesting to see underwater, so it took some time for me to discover. however, storms, different daytimes, the sun and the night sky add a lot to the immersion of the game, and this far, storms influenced gameplay for me and added even more to the immersion. if that doesnt matter, why not simply delete storms, weather, sky, night, the sun and seagulls? at least everyone would play with 4 aces in the deck then, with this how it is, some ppl play with 5 aces, just because they know this crap. some ppl think they are quite save in storms, since it would be pure luck for others to sail upon their exact location. this exploit stinks immensely
  21. Ahoy there. Not sure if anybody reported this befor, couldn find a similar post so here it is: So far i kinda enjoyed Open World Storms. Had some nice battles where i was running a little ahead of my fleet to scout in bad weather, then ran into an enemy fleet wich attacked me, not seeing all my allies behind me. Stuff like that could not had happend did the enemy knew what i know now since a few weeks: if you use your free camara (homecam) to "dive", you can increase your viewrange in bad weather by a big deal, here an example: the view from an underwater perspective, you can clearly see the ship there, even if it had no group flag: and how it looks to everyone who does not know or use this cheap trick: I hope you can fix this. Storm fun is somehwat destroyed for me since i learned about it. o7
