Considering the current circumstances of the new world, I have decided to accept a pardon and join with the United States. My motivation is simply that the nation has been pounded back and made a mockery of by my fellow pirates. I don't hold any ill will toward my old allies, however I simply recognize that it will be better of all of us this way. In addition, seeing as how I am on good terms with the Pirates, I hope to help broker a peace deal between the two nations. Seriously though, I'm not doing this to spy or anything like this. Pirates have become extremely powerful, and while I don't agree with the nerf suggestions that people have made regarding the pirate nation, I do see that they have become the strongest force in the game, and I would like to help a nation who has been pushed back big time.

Again, I don't think you get it, I run smaller ships, however you need to understand it is a give and take, I take a smaller ship in enemy waters, it is still difficult to get a good mark when simultaneously running from other players who outclass me and catching a trader who, on sight of pirate sails, runs to the nearest friendly port. At the same time moving farther out to cut that down results in the risk of having to sail BACK in a trader, running high risk of another ship catching me easily. This of course still doesn't touch on allied ships rushing to help when a pirate catches a trader in battle. This is something I've done, I still have a port off Florida where I go to harass people, but it is still high risk low reward. that is the reason you see so many pirate players not playing like traditional pirates. The pirate faction is extremely similar to any other faction, and as a result it is played as such.

I don't know, it's irrelevant to me. You don't play pirate. As pirate I can either sit in my waters and take NPC prizes, or go to another nations. If I go into another nation's waters the other ships will either run if a trader, or fight if not. If fighting they always call for friends. If I initiate combat, they also call reinforcement NPCs. Assuming all goes well and I take a trader, and assuming the one item bug doesn't exist, I now have to sail a trader to a free port if I want the items. Right now, as the game is, traditional piracy is simply not worth the risk or effort. That is why Pirates are playing as a nation.

Wrong, completely wrong. The mechanics do not favor it at all. Picking off enemy player traders is difficult and dangerous, and the payoff isn't worth it. Doing the same thing to NPC traders gets boring fast

The timer was set like that just to be a temporary annoyance. Pirates really didn't intend to defend it. You did take it much sooner then expected, we thought nobody would be that willing to wake up early for the PB

I have no idea, a good number of us didn't find out until it started, and by that point didn't feel like sailing down. If that was the case, then the Brits should have been ready and could have easily defended it.

From what I heard the real issue was the late arrival of the British fleet. Most of the towers were down by the time they arrived

Pirates can fight each other on the OW. I assume that's what he meant

I don't see a problem. Basic cutter is not a strong ship, the only advantage is that it is free.

Yes, a pirate sitting off the coast hunting ships it can take is totally not how pirates should be played.

You can redefine things all you like. I've been patrolling the coast from mid Florida and Charleston, taking prizes, some are new people, some aren't, some are traders. That is Piracy, don't like it? Come kick me out.

People have been whining on the forums about pirates not being pirates and playing like a nation. So here I am, off the American coast, sinking traders, and bigger ships and yes, some cutters. I have fought plenty of bigger ships with my cutter, if you Americans don't like pirates off your coast then you should try and kick us out mate. Until then the plunderin won't stop

I use a basic cutter and generally join fights where the Americans have a higher BR. I can understand why he would be mad about it though, I've sunk better ships then cutters and caused others a higher repair bill

I am in the area in prime time US, and I usually just jump into fights currently in process, and the US almost always has the BR advantage. The Niagara whose crew I killed actually started the fight with me. Its not about making myself look good, its about piracy

That pic is a mercury, also beat a Niagara 1v1, and sank a snow who had help. It's not my fault you Americans need so much help for the fight to be fair.

When it takes a fleet of American ships to sink three pirates, your bragging doesn't carry much weight

Never said it wasn't a loss, It was, I said the pirates never showed any sign of caring. The people in the battle with me just went with it, and from the chat outside, their wasn't much effort. Compared to other PBs I have been a part of, their simply wasn't any motivation.

Let this be a warning to all Americans who believe they are safe in the cozy territories of the American coast. Be afraid. Pirates be patrolling these waters, no ship is safe, already a number of ships have fallen to me and me mates in your waters. This new victim be my largest, yes, an American Cerberus fell today. Previously I also added a snow to my list of victims, and numerous cutters. As you try to fight your little wars with the British and Spanish, we will be raiding your trade routes, and sinking any poor sailor who dares to fight. Piracy is not limited to the Bahamas and those areas even farther south, you are not safe at your ports. We will be waiting.

I was in the battle, there was no organization or really any motivation present. Clan members I was with were just outside laughing about other things since no screen was created. I was pretty surprised by the lack of any effort.
