  1. Take it easy sport, pre release wipe and map wipe is presumably on the horizon. I dont think the majority of people give a shit anymore, especially not about nightflipped ports when we can only muster like 400 ppl online in-game max (including alts). Besides if it ever got so bad people would just switch nations and push GBs shit in while flying a different flag.
  2. Everyones free to play their own game. Nightflips are just a guarantee that Spain, and any other nation/clan that likes to play the game at a sane hour on weekdays wont ever have a cohesive pb group in any of these battles so there wont ever be competetive fights. Those that are nightflipping know this, just like they have since this first became an issue. It is what it is.
  3. Who exactly requested the port back? just for the record. If id known that yesterday i wouldnt have wasted my time. Last time i checked no one gave a shit about vacas. As a staging point for raiders, KW makes it redundant. As a res or crafting hub its useless due to it being on the fringes of spanish territory. We just wanted to see if vco wanted to/had the nuts to fight in anything other than fir fir speed cappers and dlc ships.
  4. If they overhaul crafting-resources-and the economy, specifically the need for having an outpost for res buildings it would give them leeway to reduce that number, for those of us who dont have crafting/res farming alts. Its a pain in the ass, for me anyways, trying to balance crafting needs with pvp outposts even with 8. I guess its worth waiting to see how the forthcoming changes play out. Imho alts should never have been allowed before release because they ultimately make it impossible to get a real read on the economy and other aspects of the game as it was being built/built upon. Now they are irreversibly built into the foundation of the game.
  5. So...."GB=badasses, at war with everybody..." but we cant attack anyone because everyone screens us every time everywhere with "like 50" screeners.
  6. Honestly, who cares either way at this point. Ill settle simply for fun battles at sane hours.
  7. Early-mid EA france and spain worked to help each other where and when we could. Many of the old guard from both playerbeses are gone now. Any agreement based on that nostalgia is precarious at best. This should be understood, however disheartening, as they were very loyal friends for a long time.
  8. Requins can turn on a dime with 60% sails and 10-20% structure, then just sail straight upwind. Bravo @admin, well balanced. Not to mention the hitboxes for the rigging. If you're going to put something like a xebec in game and not represent the oars (how they got upwind) as something that can be neutralized then make the magic sails more vulnerable.
  9. Haha Srupl got carried? Tell us more
  10. So you dont think theres a correlation between economy and ship crafting, supply, and demand?
  11. The in-game economy is a hard fix because to be able to discern solid results from any changes, good or bad, we need a higher population. What works or doesn't work for 200-400 players wont be the same for 1-2k or more.
  12. The indigenous governments are just going to sell it off to the highest bidder anyways and pocket the money. they probably kept it a secret because they didn't have the means to extract the cargo. interesting find though, a shame the wreck probably isn't going to be preserved in the extraction process. It'l be interesting if they ever locate a treasure galleon off the Florida coast.
  13. Agreed 100% it would be very helpful to a new player to at least be exposed to these two concepts (angling and positioning relative to the weather gauge) early on as they play a very big role in combat. Imo the tutorial is good as is but adding these two lessons would be the cherry on top of a very important addition.
  14. "Like ships in a bottle" Edit: are you roman polanski kinda guy?
  15. Ive been trying to find the battle scene where they sink the rebel spanish ship on youtube for so long. The ironic thing is our forum hornblower is way more like el supremo than Peck's Hornblower.
  16. Lmao really? I though it was for easy pvp marks and tastey screenshots to put in "great battles" topic. Sounds like a hornblower spin tbh
  17. I doubt this is really an issue you can resolve without speaking to the players in spain who still technically control appalachicola. This sounds more like a convienent way to cut ties with spain for PR and territorial gains, and lay the blame on the actual spanish in the process. Alts are cancer.
  18. Well if we did cause it, it was the brits leaving, and if it was the brits then no one has any right to bitch because they never bothered to defend anything after georgetown and turneffe were taken. Not our fault if people dont wanna lose ports and quit when they do but at the same time make no effort whatsoever to play the game and defend them. I get that they weren't the best but thats no excuse to not even try. You guys ended up taking most of those ports back towards the end and with the exception of one or two it was done by guys that were trying to learn seemingly without any help from vet players.
  19. Russia, poland, and prussia were all experiments. Russia was the only one of the three that went all out, hence that portion of the experiment ended differently. With 350-400 ppl online nowadays im glad we did, it was alot of fun.
