  1. I hear the mods now mostly play on pvp1 due to many reasons not relevant to this topic.
  2. Well PvP2. It has certainly been a magnificent rise to and from greatness over my time playing solely on this server. There were the excellent times when I was a Pirate & British but the inevitable has not ceased. After logging into pvp1 for the 2nd time ever I am now convinced that PvP2 has reached terminal status - i.e. it cannot be fixed. Time to join my comrades I dare say. Goodbye pvp2. T'was an exciting ride.
  3. Yep. Bring on the merge. I've taken to sitting outside KPR in a first-rate to get pvp but all the Rear-Admirals can seem to muster are basic cutters. Boring. The carebears can fish and moan all they bloody want on pve.
  4. To be frank here about pvp2 and the sheer amount of drama. I have not seen the amount of bitching and moaning since March. Since Sons of Britain & Roberts. Since the Great Pirate conquest of the French territories and the Great Pirate Purge from the west-indies. That's when the server had an average of 500-600 players. Hell, this reminds me of when all the big clans - Sons of Britain, Sons of Liberty, Invictus, Crimson Flotilla, USS jumped ship so-to-speak to pvp1 and this whole business of the server dying started. The simple fact of the matter is that people that actually want the server to grow and prosper like Loco here are fighting a battle that cannot be won without co-operation from all sides. However he fights against the biggest problem - the problem has always been the disparate & self-destructive nature of the British and American factions on our server. Clans that go 'rogue' and that make diplomacy impossible. People that screw gentlemen's agreements due to their own ego. That only happens in GB and USA. Am I biased? - Hell yes. I despise the factions for being so oblivious to their own crap. And this is coming from someone who was once a part of AUS. Enough talk of 'sabotage' and so forth. My friend strugelwitz nailed it. We are the problem.
  5. He's a perfect match for the USA! BritUS should be renamed the Coalition of Carebears imo.
  6. Hopefully one comes soon enough, Now that I'm top rank zipping about in a rattle helping new players in missions is quite fun
  7. Indeed, that would be awesome In regards to OP, whilst some improvement needs to be made with stern raking and so forth, I agree with Henry's points completely. If battles took only 5-10 minutes I wouldn't have enough time to admire my ship
  8. Well said. There's such a lack of players by the west-indies that my clan have moved ships close to Kingston to simply get some fights. In regards to pvp it is indeed very low for the size of the map, however I don't believe a merge is necessary just yet. For a solution, I think the answer lies with supporting new players - People start the game & there is little support for them due to lack of proper tutorials etc. I think it's time the devs allocate resources to helping new players actually keep playing.
  9. I find it odd indeed that the server was experiencing such issues. However this was not the first time that the server has experienced such. I would implore people to wait and see what the devs have to say abut this matter. Loose lips sink ships after all
  10. Bye aggresseur. I'll miss you dearly sweetheart
  11. So what you mean is - You're mad because Denmark have more players than you. A bot that takes the form of a player - that is to have a discernible profile and somehow follows orders given in port battles, which are dynamic by nature is near impossible to code. I am no expert mind you. However AI technology is not up to the point where a bot can completely imitate a player's strategies & behaviour. Therefore, given the lack of any evidence on your part in the form of specific screenshots one must ascertain that the Danes simply have more players than the french.
  12. Agresseur. Stop ruining your reputation further with your constant racism & complaining in-game and on the forums. Back on topic - Bots are fine to fight against. I cannot say about bots that one can possess in their fleet for I do not require an AI ship to win my battles. Good Day.
  13. Good luck is all I can say. 3 Flags were launched by your allies, the Dutch against Denmark. None of which bore any fruit. Should be a fun few evenings indeed, especially since they have the Spanish as Allies (all of which are active during their prime time) and Britain is somewhat preoccupied. P.S. Also show some respect when referring to other players. I did not realise how blatantly racist you and your allies are.
  14. He's still an american player, it's totally reasonable to suspect that he may just be tired of the game. Happens to everyone now and again.
  15. Regarding the lack of USA first rates turning up to battles; I have noted that the vast majority of them are kept as PvE ships out of Charleston or Tumbado. The specific reason that none of these captains are using the vessels springs to the Economic Warfare standpoint. The USA is loosing all of it's production buildings & resources are now scarce. Therefore captains are only willing to use their 'lesser' vessels in many battles, for a real fear of loosing a pixel ship as they do not possess the patience to go smuggler and trade like any small nation had to do for months on end. Much like the u-boat campaign in WWI & WWII the constant threat of pirates/spanish/ french players ganking in your prime trade routes have strangled your nation from an economic standpoint. Is this a bad thing? - No it is not. It is not the pirates fault that the USA is split and cannot see past their differences. More rather it is to their merit for waging a form of 'Total War' that is incredibly effective against an overextended nation.
  16. As a former Pirate, the mechanics are not broken; our pirate faction simply seized an opportune moment to strike when the Americans were fractured. Britain & Spain followed suit due to the simple fact that we saw a ripe apple on the tree - and we decided to take it.
  17. The reason they are taking 'your' ports is directly due to your own actions towards people who were once your countrymen. Before you start accusing others of your own failures I implore you to grow up and act like the adult you claim to be.
  18. Sounds like someone has a problem with a nation coming back, you must be a supporter of the 'Convert PvP2 into a PvE Server for the American Faction' coalition.
  19. Excellent suggestion chaps, can't wait to test it in due time
  20. I'd say that the Ottomans are indeed a striking example of a nation that tried it's hardest. The battle of Lepanto in 1571 is one of the most decisive actions, with the Ottoman casualties amounting to 137 ships captured and 50 ships sunk out of a fleet of 250 vessels. This defeat was suffered against the Spanish/Venetian fleet of 212 ships; of which 12 were lost. I see it that whilst the Ottomans maintained supremacy of the land theatre; they sacrificed much needed attention on their Navy which for an empire of it's size is an absolute necessity. A few more nations I can think of would be the Persian and Mughal Empires. Both did not fund a navy practically at all until in the case of the Mughals the British were already stealing their opium
  21. This is a problem on the pvp2 server. I am under the impression that pirate mechanics are indeed under review and thus are subject to change. Your recommendations are stipulated on many threads and I do agree with the idea that pirates should not act like a true nation. Just be patient my friend; our concerns shall be adressed in due time
  22. Should I start making meatballs for our content patch party?
