  1. Cool story.  Expanding your border is not securing your border.  Expanding your borders by taking Spanish ports is indeed an act of War against the Spanish.

Taking unsecured ports, leaving them with a spanish friendly timer and preventing the US from taking them is helping an ally, but clearly that is difficult to understand. Especially if the guild that did it had talked to the spanish guild(s) beforehand.

  2. We're still looking for more players from North America, Europe, and New Zealand (and I guess we'll take more aussies as well.) If you're looking for a fun relaxed guild that does port battles regularly or want to do the trading and crafting route you can hit myself, Dalriaden the Greywolf, Wolfstar, Wang, Fiskey, Fatherghonel, or Pam up with any questions you may have to see if we'd be a good fit for you.

  3. The Pirates and the English are going to take control of most of Cuba.  So they will be left with La Habana without protection.  Then they will have few ports on East Mexico.  Which will dwindle fast without protection.

I don't see the Spanish nation having many other choices besides trying to make peace with us if they want to survive as a nation.  The British already stabbed them in the back.

The British didn't stab Spain in the back. We secured our border facing the fact our allies didn't have the resolve or resources to protect their territory on their own and the US is encroaching into our interests. Furthermore, Britain as a whole is not allied or at war with Spain, every clan can play the way want and ally with who they want, same as any other faction. Good try though mate, maybe Conttoy will show some other factions the light and get their spirits up. (From all reports though, Spain does need to put personal differences aside and band together as a nation.)

"The Spanish lost due to their own actions. instead of strengthening their own home area, they moved en masse to south America. If you need to move their home port to make it safer from attack, move It to the south side of cuba where there is a cluster of ports. they will be fine there if they can be bothered to actually defend it. its quite hard to get to from either british or americans ports. however if they continue to just sit in south America they wont defend anything.

The whole thing is nothing to do with timers or location, just internal bad decisions."

    You couldnt be more wrong.

We wont defend anything anywere at 5 am. in a EU server.

Please prove me wrong by doing the same with the Brits or by setting the timers of ALL the taken ports at 10 PM GMT :D

You are right the lack of organization from the Spanish side was (and is) an issue, but it wasnt by any means the main reason why we dont try to retake the ports.

Why not? Britain just did it against the US earlier. As far as I can tell the Spaniards have never defended a single port and instead choose to claim that every timer is at 5 am and champion a cause on the forums instead of actually fighting in the game. What about when you lost 10 ports over Saturday while giving no opposition?

  5. I'm looking forward to a better Port Battle mechanic and a map wipe.  It is Early Access after all.  Bring on the wipes.  Let's make this an even better game by fixing these problems people keep complaining about.

Agreed, even if it means news of my crew's rescue from Cuyo is delayed and engaging the US on an even footing is slightly pushed back.

Unfortunately we are long past the point of institution nationality locks to maintain an even footing, I'm beginning to think the only salvation for the spaniards is to contract thoseeager to fight for fame and gold.

  6. Was a lot of fun, we knew beforehand that the odds were against us but wanted to let you guys know your expansion was going to meet opposition, and to have fun, as well as gamble on the slim chance we could win. We had a decent plan just weren't able to implement as well as we wanted. Hopefully you guys fished my crew out of the drink and are treating them well.

  7. I wonder what would your man Napoleon think about this perverted alliance with the british? But I guess some players don't give a toss about historical background in the first place.

The same historical background that see's Constitutions in British French and Spanish fleets? Or made up towns like Bensalem?

The novel depicts a mythical island, Bensalem, which is discovered by the crew of a European ship after they are lost in the Pacific Ocean somewhere west of Peru. The minimal plot serves the gradual unfolding of the island, its customs, but most importantly, its state-sponsored scientific institution, Salomon's House, "which house or college ... is the very eye of this kingdom." https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_Atlantis
  8. This has happened to me once, although it wasn't from actively teleporting to a chosen outpost or capital so I'm not sure this applies to the original post, but my activity prior to being teleported will hopefully help in identifying the problem.

I was in a battle instance (against a.i.) I had to leave my computer for a bit, so sailed away from the a.i. to try and avoid my uncontested sinking from the a.i.. When I returned to my computer I was out of the battle instance and had been teleported from the Vieques area (where the battle instance took place) to the open sea area around Caracas, South America.

I was in a Constitution. Long guns around decks, longs in front, carronades in back.

He wasn't actively teleporting. The first time it happened he clicked sail out of bensalem, it teleported him over to pirate territory. The second time the same thing, the third time he got boarded by a 3rd rate and had his ship taken like a noob when we sunk the third rate he exited the battle and it teleported him and his frigate to pirate territory, then once he clicked sail out of the pirate port he was in it ported him to a shallow pirate port again.

  9. As amusing as it is to hear him rage in ts, this is a rather game breaking bug that needs a fix asap. With teleport up its a 2ish hour sail from Port Royal to Bensalem, with it down it's a 3 - 4 hour sail back with the potential of losing durability on your ship. He's lost nearly 6 hours of game time today having to sail back.

  10. The fact that the swedes, Brits and French were able to each attack at least 2 ports each of a pretty lonely desolated nation is seriously wrong.

    m

    kind regards

    Monkey

Desolated? Good sir, we british attacked your ports that border ours in Haiti, I do wonder if you know what desolate means and if you may not just have taken a bath in sand and salt?

  11. Hello everyone,

I am going to try to get on the TS server tonight if possible (never know with my little one) and confirm that I am a good fit for this group - I am excited and hopeful that I am :)

(here is a link with my "bio" http://forum.game-labs.net/index.php?/topic/10034-new-gb-player-any-server-lfg/)

Hop in anytime, always welcome. We aren't a hardcore group where you have to be a certain rank to join or have x amounts of hours of playtime or mandatory days you have to play. We're pretty laid back, fun loving, and for the most part helpful. It's mainly aussies but a few Americans (like me) and Europeans so there's a 24 hour presence in game.

  12. disagree with both stop / don't make it harder on he hundred's of other player's

Pirate faction isn't mean to be easy that's why its labeled "hard." The important thing is changing the way pirates work in a way that makes for good gameplay for all nations not arbitrarily making it harder/easier for pirates/nations. One way would be instead of a port being accessible to the entire pirate faction they should be controlled by the clan that takes them with the option to allow allied clans access (needs a formal alliance system though)

  13. This is my point. You cannot expect Devs to restore your durability in this case (and it is rather unlikely in any case). Anyone could blast that restart button in hopes of saving durability while he was sure to sink. There is no way to confirm what happened in reality.

considering this is around the time PVP 1 and 3 started hiccuping and downright crashing and burning i'd say your point is fairly moot. I attempted to join into a battle with 3+ third rates, it never loaded me into the battle and my ship was frozen in place so I alt f4d and attempted to restart and havent been able to get in since. Now i get to wait and see if my ship lost a durability or not in a fight I couldn't get into due to the servers having issues. If it did and I lost a durability it's going to be fairly lame.

  14.

At the moment network connection to PvP One EU and PvP 3 EU Mirror is mostly unavailable due to hardware provider issues. Problem will be solved asap.

    We will keep you posted.

    Sorry for inconvience

It happens to the best of games at release, considering we've made it 3 weeks with only this hiccup I'd say it's going well. Only downside is now I'm stuck not knowing if my ship spawned into a battle of 3+ 3rd rates or not and we had to stop on beating up on the US, lol.
