  1. I'd like to see the option to turn off the ability to double press A or D to turn round in circles, I like to turn bit by bit and this part of the control scheme annoys me a lot as it tends to screw over my broadsides in combat and send me round in circles on the main map
  2. Venetian trade did extend all around Europe, there are plenty of ships designed for ocean voyages going back to the 1300s. The London and Antwerp voyages are fairly well documented while there is less on the voyages to the hansiatic ports there still a decent amount of information. Having had a quick look on the internet there seems to be a vague trend of trading glass to the Caribbean then taking back coffee and tobacco to the Italian ports but I haven't found any major articles about it worth reading, just snippets of things.
  3. I agree there should be something done but I get the feeling people will just get round it by going around in circles at full sail or trapping themselves in shallows. Its a difficult call to make long semi afk voyages possible but still have some kind of protection against the port sitters.
  4. The thing is open to abuse but its a nice safety net to people lost at sea. Even with skill and experience its quite easy to get lost if you take your eye off for a second.
  5. Venice, its all I want

  6. I'd quite like the option to rename your character, say you turn pirate and have an immersive name it would be nice to be able to change it to a more pirate style name, I would suggest a long cool down though. It would also count as a nice extra because of only being able to have one character
  7. I agree to some extent but I worry about balance slightly, I haven't battled too much, I like to do a few now and again but for the most part I quite like just sailing around. It would be nice to recognise more play styles and open the world up more to traders and crafters.
  8. Gave you a positive review that you guys deserve, fantastic game keep going
  9. Will you still be able to redeem if you delete your character and restart with another nation afterwards for what ever reason?
  10. they could all have cute names like HMS Little Victory and it could be adorable, while an administration rocks up with full experience and a heavy first rate
  11. I think we all were really, it will come, and when it does it will be amazing.
  12. Theres another thread stating that it will be around 1800 Kiev time.
  13. I'm probably going to roll with Fluffy Fishy although im tempted to pick a regional name with some historic basis but not much. Theoretically I could pick an old family member and roll around as a Pirate, it feels so good to have pirates in the bloodline. I quite fancy a Venetian style name sailing for the British.
  14. There is no harm in picking one, having a look seeing where they are and then if you don't like it delete your character before you actually commit.
  15. Thats what I worked it out to be too. With hope they will be a bit ahead of schedule though
  16. Thank you for the update, Looking forward to setting sail again Best of luck to you and the rest of the team!
  17. Apparently not, its still called Grand Turk but its a replica of HMS Phoenix, this clears it up http://www.oldsaltblog.com/2008/11/replica-frigate-grand-turk-for-sale/
  18. I would actually credit most discoveries being made by a mix of the Genoans, Portuguese and the Dutch, with honourable mentions to the Venetians, English/British and Spanish. It was the Genovese explorers that really pushed the Spanish and Portuguese to look for a new trade route to spices to get at their old rivals, which was countered by Venetian Exploration done in partnership with the English and Dutch later on.
  19. That does kind of leave the question, what happened to the HMS Phoenix I mentioned? I know there is a replica, but things keep pointing to Grand Turk now.
  20. I think you are right actually, I know there is a HMS phoenix somewhere, but that one is the grand turk, well spotted.
  21. I think you are right, damn, thank you for making my wait twice as long
  22. This is turning into one of the longest days I have had for a while, if I go to bed now (its 3:15 in the afternoon) will tomorrow come sooner?
