  1. You are wrong Z4ys, I see many enemies. But mostly when I'm doing trade runs into enemy capitals. It would be nice to see more enemies when hunting
  2. I agree there needs to be more PVE variety: daily patrols, exploration missions, blockade running..., but don't make necessary mods the goal of PVE. For those that like grind, as I posted above, there are other things that you could grind for. Off topic, in POTBS I'm still working to get the jury rigged barrel. Will I ever PVP in it, no chance. But it is still something to work for.
  3. God no! Seriously. The beauty of NA was that mods were once not needed to succeed in PVP, unlike in POTBS. In POTBS you could also do missions for avatar costumes. Why not collections for sail patterns? We already have rare fish. Why not have a fish collection you can trade for a title? Why does there have to be the grind to get mods so only those that have hours and enjoy the grind can be competitive? There are other possibilities to grind for, sail patterns, titles, rare trade goods (etc). Edit, my first line was in reply to George Washington.
  4. POTBS also has mission variety and collectible junk, not needed for PVP.
  5. There could be much other PVE content then just grinding to get mods. Mods are not required for PVE. Isn't the reward sinking the ship? There could be a huge variety of missions for PVE.
  6. I already said why Legends is not for me. But this is getting off topic.
  7. Personally, I hate mods. I hate the PVE and don't want to grind PVE just to be able to be competitive in PVP (outside of ganks). Play Legends? I enjoy the strategy up to the fight as much as the fight, running from gank squads, hunting in the open world, trying to get the best wind and great tag, everything that can be unexpected or go wrong. Not the Team A here, Team B here, boom... fight.
  8. My suggestion, 1) allow the ability to chose duras on crafting, more duras more expensive to craft. That way those that like the 1 dur realism can still have it. 2) Get rid of mods or go back to the original mods and make them skill books so you don't need to find the mods all over again upon sinking a 1 dur ship. It was nice when there were few mods. For speed you had copper plating and speed trim (with a penalty to turn). For gunnery there was open magazine access (with a chance of fire) and I forgot the other one. Too many mods.
  9. I tried to tag an indianman in my Mercury, wasn't able to. Also would be nice if trade ships could counter tag.
  10. Yeah, I agree. It reminds me of Harry Potter and the start of Order of the Phoenix "5 against 1, very brave". I don't know much about the Wasa but I would think a LGV would be able to escape. If you are sailing a trade ship sail with company, or if sailing alone, keep your eyes open, keep aware, know your best point of escape, or sail a smaller ship. Its very unlikely to get ganked and not get away in a traders Lynx. Never sail with full cargo as that slows you down.
  11. I noticed my CPU running fast when on ow but how do you tell temp?
  12. The more complex you make crafting, the more it's going to spur alt accounts. Most dedicated crafters in POTBS had 10+ accounts. NA already has an issue with alts, please don't fuel the need for more. I'm all for more crafting lines, maybe craftable trade goods, but don't make crafting any one thing more conplex or require more stages.
  13. I really really really just don't want complex crafting like (recent) POTBS where with three accounts, that's 30 structures if you pay for it, which I did, it still takes 4 days to build a frigate. I got burnt out on POTBS crafting.
  14. I don't know. I know people before wipe that used LGV + marines as raid ship. Maybe the new refit has just made it more popular? Edit: I believe @CaptVonGunn used to sail around on the LGV, wait to be attacked, play stupid and then get boarded and win or it was someone else in Sorry at the time I was a member that did that.
  15. So is there a new problem Riggie? Any trade ship can enter a port with smuggler for a long time now.
  16. Redii, a noob wouldn't stand a chance against a vet in any ship. They need to learn like everyone here has. But I agree with point two, once spotted, they shouldn't be able to enter, it is not realistic. Although I'm not sure how to go about changing mechanics for that. I go in enemy ports all the time in a traders Lynx and have been spotted so I shouldn't be entering either. If you see an enemy in LGV nearby, call out in your nation chat, we have tps (something also not realistic), use them.
  17. The LGV is weaker than other ships of the same class, and I believe it has fewer crew as well. The nice part about it is that you can use it to enter enemy ports. Haven't used one since they require notes but I'm all for keeping LGV as is. If you don't like people using them as raid ships and being able to enter ports, patrol your nation's ports.
  18. Some people will find whatever way they can to cheat the system (using alts to hide from battle, etc), happens in many games. But why not remove smuggler flag but allow all trade ships (even indianmans & LGVs) enter any port (allowing that size ship)? I really hope Devs don't just remove smuggler & trade missions to halt exploits.
  19. I use the trader tool and see where fish meat has a sell price of $1
  20. Please no precise spots, imagine the revenge squads. Someone suggested earlier a heat map type thing that shows the amount of players in the general area.
  21. Naval Action Legends (now in closed beta, requires a beta key) is only open weekends. Naval Action servers are online all the time with the exception of the daily maintenance.
  22. Personally I don't think OS speed should be raised. There are teleports and there are tows. If you want a fast sail use a smaller ship. When I used to hunt in a Snow I needed to lower sails while on patrol so I didn't miss anything. What would help the OS is more population. They need to work on the ugly DOS-like port interface, seriously when I first saw it I cringed, it looks like something from the 80s or 90s, add some tutorial or tutorial missions, and add more content. There needs to be more types of missions, maybe daily patrols, more things to do other than combat (exploration missions and such) Back on topic, agree with OP on repairs. And I hate to say this, but I agree with fox on going back to 1 repair each. And have the NPCs sell repairs at 3x the craft cost. Personally I also like multi-duras but 1 dura is ok too.
