  1. I like this suggestion a lot and I also like Prater's addition to it. Never underestimate the lengths people will go through just to make their ship different than everybody else's and more aesthetically pleasing. If this game wants to stay more on the Simulation category and less on the WoW-style MMORPG then insane amounts of gold as opposed to PVP marks and such make complete sense. The game will be more of a sandbox with personal objectives instead of somebody looking at the marks they need to get a SOL and saying "Damn, I'll never get that."
  2. I really like almost everything I see here. My only concern is the lack of a rush to add more and more ships. I often see people complaining about how grindy the game is but I think if there were more ships for each level then people wouldn't feel like they need to rush to rank up to that next ship. Loving the game a lot so far though... Keep up the great work!!
  3. Right now the port adds 1/24th of its daily production rate every real life hour. so I'm not sure what you're talking about. At least that's my understanding of it.
  4. Making it so you can't crew a ship at all unless you have 70 or 80% would fix not only this, but a lot of other issues as well.
  5. As my clans ship-builder, I respectfully disagree. Player-built ships already have the appeal of being way higher quality and being able to be custom-built to suit a players specific needs, The material cost vs. having 5 durability is already a little too "casual" for this kind of game IMO. I see your point but I think we should be looking in the other direction, for example - lowering the durability on NPC ships to 3, while keeping the player built ones at 5.
  6. In my experience, there is a very fine line between getting unlucky and getting yourself into a bad situation. Let's keep in mind that we're playing a game focused on realism and strategy, there is no place for "hand-holding" in such a game. You learn from your mistakes, that's supposed to be part of it - if you make a lot of mistakes then that's not the games fault.
  7. I think getting rid of the Surrender option is better than any suggestion you or I have thought of TBH. However the morale system could be cool, if implemented correctly - but that would be tricky.
  8. In my opinion, the only reason to surrender is to save yourself some time - and it should stay that way. There's hardly anything wrong with that yet there are wayyy bigger issues with literally all of your suggestions. Surrendering to save a durability is game breaking as hell and discourages competition, whether it be surrendering once or surrendering 50 times to save that dura. "Surrendering" implies surrendering your ship... why would you get a durability for that????
  9. The fact that you're dying enough for this to be an idea that comes to your mind worries me. I haven't sunk a single time and I think the durability count should perhaps be even lower on ships.
  10. Hahah thanks for being a good sport about it. There's no hard feelings, it's just the competition of the game, mate.
  11. For those interested - video of the battle at Puerto Escondido can be found here:
  12. It was a true honor fighting for the Royal Navy at Puerto Escondido, that mob of thugs didn't know what him 'em!
  13. A friend and I are having the same issue, it seems everybody is..
